    Hello my friend,
    I'm from Brazil, and I have a td 11 k in my church, and I bought a cy 13 r but I can not configure the bell mode of it, I only get the edge and the blow. Would you be able to guide me on this? I was scared to have bought wrong, because in the specification does not say that it is for the td 11k. And now?
    The cy 13 r has 3 zones but in the module I can not configure the 3 zones. I only get two zones, the bell I can not.

    Does anybody know how to get a ride bell sound out of this kit? I searched through all the cymbal sounds and could not find a ride bell. It seems like a standard sound that should have been included. I'm hesitant to get the more expensive cymbal with a bell trigger if the sound isn't there. Basically though, I just want to have one of the kit presets use a ride bell sound on the ride cymbal, so I can switch back and forth between kits as needed for the song.

    • @curtluther6214

      From what I understand you can assign the cymbal rim to a bell sound

    • @anachronist
      @anachronist 2 года назад

      @@curtluther6214 - Unfortunately it doesn't seem so. I just tried. The TD-11K just doesn't seem to include a bell sound. The sound you assign to the whole cymbal includes a cymbal rim sound. Maybe if I had a cymbal with a bell sensor, the bell sound might become evident. But it would be good if I could get that sound out of the default kit.

      @@anachronist looking at used for $500 I’ll upgrade the pads to mesh via drum Tec ( are they upgradable) The record feature is huge for me. Being this an older model what king of longevity could you expect. And overall is it better then buying the brand new lower end 1dmk for a $1k bucks. Your help would be appreciated man Thx

    • @anachronist
      @anachronist 2 года назад

      @@robb7565 - I really like my TD-11K. It's versatile and does pretty much everything I need except for the lack of a cymbal bell sound, but if I upgrade to a 3-sensor cymbal the bell might be there. You CAN upgrade all the pads to mesh, but you don't need mesh heads for all pads, just the snare drum. Replacing the tom tom pads with mesh pads would only give you rim sensors on the toms, which I find is needed only on the snare drum. It would be a better to keep the rubber tom pads and use a splitter (the connectors have two signal conductors) to add more pads for other purposes, like cowbell or whatnot. I've read about people doing this (see lucyferina's comment here, for example).
      As for longevity, I've had this kit for 5 years and it's still going strong. My son uses it for drum lessons. If I do upgrade anything for it, I would probably replace my bass drum pedal with a double-bass linkage before I would get a 3-sensor cymbal, because my son is doing stuff that requires fast bass, and neither of us are fast enough on the single pedal, so the double bass pedals would help.
      I see lots of cautions online saying "don't use a guitar amp with an electronic drum kit!" That's ridiculous. I've been using my 25-watt Fender guitar amp with this kit for years, with no problem. As long as you don't turn it up loud, it's fine, the amp won't be damaged. If you're just practicing by yourself (and especially if you're in an apartment) you don't need high volume anyway. And if you use headphones, you don't need the amp at all (and the sound in incredibly good through headphones, full stereo). I wouldn't use a guitar amp for performing with a band, but for solo practice it's fine. The drum console has an auxiliary input to let you mix music with your drumming, and we do this, playing music from the phone into the drum kit, and all the sound comes out the headphones or the amp.

  • @lucyferina
    @lucyferina 8 лет назад +4

    I have that same kit, but I added extra cymbals (4) using the extra cymbal input and by making my own splitter cables to use the secondary input for the 3 toms. (all drum inputs are double zone but in this kit only the snare pad is double zone capable). the cables are not regular splitters they have a 100 k ohm resistor to work with the module without overdriving the input. check my channel for some covers using this setup.

    Hard to believe they are still selling those hard rubber pads for the toms on the new roland td-11ks. Be careful, they can mess up your hands/wrists. (Resulting in something similar to carpal tunnel syndrome.) Mesh heads are the way to go if you take the e-kit route. (The Yamaha pads seem to be good as well even though they are not mesh.)
