My biggest disagreement is how Pikachu's uptaunt only gets a 7/10 while Fox's uptaunt got a 9/10. Pikachu's is almost the exact same, only with Pikachu his taunt makes more sense as electricity is his iconic ability from his series while the Fox Fire is a Smash original thing. I know that a lot of stuff like this is opinion based, but the complete lack of objectiveness in his rankings from so early on makes the entire video hard to watch.
i have to agree, my opinions were the same as almost nothing on this list. the only thing that really angered me though was Pit’s “that all you got?” being rated a 6. In my opinion its genuinely one of the best taunts in Smash.
I gotta be entirely honest, I don't think the actual taunt from today is that bad. I actually like it since I'm a fan of Roger Craig Smith's performance. Yes, Brawls version is better cause it's original, but I don't think the current is terrible. What I don't like is that they literally carbon copy his voice lines from Generations and put it in Smash for no reason. I don't understand why they couldn't get Roger to have new voiceover in Ultimate, since they did it with Jason Griffith in Brawl. Sonic just cant catch a break... Damn it Sakurai... Mr. Game & Watch's bell is literally one of the main things that the character has to offer though, it was one of the things the Game & Watch was marketed for, I don't see how it is boring. It's also a good taunt to annoy the opponent, especially since you can cancel it into itself in this game.

It does have a deeper meaning in the sense that the smash characters aren’t just bland avatars for fighting, the majority of them are rich characters with a lot of personality and history. Character has a dual meaning, like an avatar or somebody in a narrative or game, but it can also be a personality.
"Isabelle's Waving taunt is a bit boring" It's so perfect when an opponent walks right onto a loid though. A lot of taunts are best situational and getting a star K.O and waving goodbye makes for a real nice taunt.

Why didn’t you average all the characters’ taunts? Then characters with more, or fewer taunts would be on an even playing field. I get that if a character has fewer taunts, it’s less expressive, but I think that Snake’s single taunt looks more appealing than a lot of characters’ entire arsenal of taunts.
If we did that, wario would slightly beat young link with a score of 21.5 and snake would tie with ken and fox as the best, tho I wouldn't say he's that good because he has 1 great taunt, ken and fox have a full set, but scores be scores
@@jovan7365 It does make more sense to do this though. People are just going to do whatever taunts they like anyway in game, so the quantity doesn't matter as much as quality. The scores should have been averaged instead of totalled.

In Japanese he says something completely different: “穏やかじゃないですね” (literally: It is not calm; in certain context: That doesn’t sound like a peaceful situation) which he often says in the original game (in text dialogue) when he receives side quests. It is considered to be one of his iconic lines in Japan, and the fact that it was voiced for the first time in Smash was amazing. The animation is designed for it, and it also makes sense in a hectic Smash battle. I’m disappointed that this taunt makes little sense in the English version.

Also king dedede's crouch taunt makes me lose my collection of marbles. It's like he's teasing you to go back down and kill him but instead it makes you go in head first and probably get killed again. Serious mind games with that one.

My biggest disagreement is how Pikachu's uptaunt only gets a 7/10 while Fox's uptaunt got a 9/10. Pikachu's is almost the exact same, only with Pikachu his taunt makes more sense as electricity is his iconic ability from his series while the Fox Fire is a Smash original thing. I know that a lot of stuff like this is opinion based, but the complete lack of objectiveness in his rankings from so early on makes the entire video hard to watch.
i have to agree, my opinions were the same as almost nothing on this list. the only thing that really angered me though was Pit’s “that all you got?” being rated a 6. In my opinion its genuinely one of the best taunts in Smash.
I really sucks that Sonic doesn’t say your too slow, it’s one of his most iconic lines.

I gotta be entirely honest, I don't think the actual taunt from today is that bad. I actually like it since I'm a fan of Roger Craig Smith's performance. Yes, Brawls version is better cause it's original, but I don't think the current is terrible. What I don't like is that they literally carbon copy his voice lines from Generations and put it in Smash for no reason. I don't understand why they couldn't get Roger to have new voiceover in Ultimate, since they did it with Jason Griffith in Brawl. Sonic just cant catch a break... Damn it Sakurai... (Still love you Sakurai.)

he has everything but the kitchen sink: wall jump, tether, a battle ui that actually changes (where he removes the mask), 3 different victory themes and a slim chance naruto bender will come in and calls you a fucking loser. i can see why.

Mr. Game & Watch's bell is literally one of the main things that the character has to offer though, it was one of the things the Game & Watch was marketed for, I don't see how it is boring. It's also a good taunt to annoy the opponent, especially since you can cancel it into itself in this game.

Man, Game & Watch's bells deserved better than what they got. Sure, I can _kinda_ understand the thing about them being too similar but he's literally ringing a bell at you. That's like the most fitting a taunt can be! Not to mention his own point about how much the audio of a taunt can matter.

It does have a deeper meaning in the sense that the smash characters aren’t just bland avatars for fighting, the majority of them are rich characters with a lot of personality and history. Character has a dual meaning, like an avatar or somebody in a narrative or game, but it can also be a personality.

Damn first his moveset is boring asf and now he talks about his piss. Sonic in Smash slowly starts to feel meh when you look at all the other 3rd Parties and see that they had more work put into them and are actually fun and don’t have a similar side and down special.
21:07 one cool thing is when you are Shulk with kirby as a teammate and you and erase your opponent with the monado arts, Kirby holds the B button on the monado wheel and you do this taunt, it is SO COOL, because Kirby's animation while on the wheel is cool and reinforces Shulk's down taunt!

Why didn’t you average all the characters’ taunts? Then characters with more, or fewer taunts would be on an even playing field. I get that if a character has fewer taunts, it’s less expressive, but I think that Snake’s single taunt looks more appealing than a lot of characters’ entire arsenal of taunts.
If we did that, wario would slightly beat young link with a score of 21.5 and snake would tie with ken and fox as the best, tho I wouldn't say he's that good because he has 1 great taunt, ken and fox have a full set, but scores be scores

In Japanese he says something completely different: “穏やかじゃないですね” (literally: It is not calm; in certain context: That doesn’t sound like a peaceful situation) which he often says in the original game (in text dialogue) when he receives side quests. It is considered to be one of his iconic lines in Japan, and the fact that it was voiced for the first time in Smash was amazing. The animation is designed for it, and it also makes sense in a hectic Smash battle. I’m disappointed that this taunt makes little sense in the English version.
