Ganondorf's smash attacks will use a sword in this game. FINALLY, some much needed further delineation from Captain Falcon!
It really bothers me that Ganondorf, Link and Zelda don’t match as a game group... but I guess I’m fine with it.
I kind of like it. OoT Ganondorf makes sense. And in the presentation they pointed out botw Zelda isn't much of a fighter, so they went with a more princessy design. And if you think about it we do have ganondorf, sheik, and young link which are all from the same game.
David Chidester if you look closely though you can tell Sheik is wearing the stealth set from BotW

Owen Apple 1. Sheik wasn't in Twilight Princess 2. If you look closely you can see the shoulder armor and other design choices of the Stealth Set
It’s grown on me now, although It’d be cool to have like different outfits perhaps. But Zelda for sure should have a Hilda alt.

Probably will do, the only new character shown so far is the Inkling... we have to the end of the year to wait, as such its safe to assume they will grinding that hype pepper over the coming months sprinkling us with info, like new characters.

Anybody else notice that Sakurai agreed with Zeltik's last line?
Weird that so many people thought it'll be a port. Wouldn't they have downright said so, if that was the case? I don't think they ever showed a "new" game just for it to be a port. I guess hearing "They'll port Smash For" for months messed with people. Some even called a port "the worst kept secret" because it took some time for the Cloud & Co. amiibo to release.

I think they might keep Warlock Punch in just because it’s associated with SSB Ganondorf and rework the rest of his moveset. Maybe instead they could have Warlock Blade.
Also I think the Links’ moveset should be this:
Link:
N-B: Arrow with random bow from the game (10% chance to pull out Bow of Light and the arrow will deal double damage)
U-B: Revali’s Gale. Is there even any question?
S-B: Stasis+. Freeze one character in time and attack them until they break out and then the damage will accumulate.
D-B: Bombs. Just as described in the trailer.
N-A: Sword slash. Can be done 4 times like in BotW unlike the 3 times in older games.
U-A: Spin Attack. Should be moved here because now it is not a recovery and Link needs a recovery special.
S-A: One horizontal slash.
D-A: Forward stab.
U-S: Stab sword up, instead of three slashes.
S-S: Perfect Guard like in Breath of the Wild. Could also act as a counter.
D-S: Spin attack as well but lower to the ground
Shield: Daruk’s Protection
Grab: Magnesis (just say it can latch on to more than metal now)
Final Smash: Ancient Arrow just as described.
Toon Link should stay unchanged.
Young Link should be buffed a bit but mostly unchanged, and his Final Smash should be putting on the Fierce Deity’s Mask and going for a quick and rapid succession of strikes.

I just hope there's great single player content... Smash _For_ was lacking in that department.
Can someone explain why there is snake from metar gear? I understand for sonic because there's a certain similarity between him and mario but even if metal gear is Sony too, i don't really understand why he's there. (i'm absolutely not familiar with the SSB world, i tried one time but that wasn't my game and i was really bad at this)
Because the mgs1 remake was on the GameCube. And plus he was in Brawl on the Wii.
Metal Gear Solid is made by Konami. They just have a better relationship with Sony than Nintendo but that doesn't mean Nintendo can't have Snake on there games.

No Zeltik and others were confident that Link would have his Spin Attack replaced with Revali's Gale and have his Boomernag removed.
I predicted:
-Non of his specials would change besides bomb runes and boomerang being a regular one
-He'd have his Hylian Shield
-And some other stuff

Don't get me wrong... I'm sure it will be a fun game... But watching the best players play wont be impressive since there will be so many of them since the game wont be hard to git gud at...
I could be wrong though... It could have a very high skill gap but since it looks like a slight upgrade over smash 4 for the most part... I'm not expecting pro level play to ensue. Just fun nintendo craziness.

F8D _ Yeah i have hoped for a Port or remake of some zelda too. But to be fair- it has only been one year since a huge new zelda came out (half a year if you count DLC), and developing takes time. Also just because they didnt show us a new Zelda now, doesnt mean they dont announce something later this year.☺️

We got until December, let’s wait and see. If they’re willing to bring back every past character (Snake was probably a pain in the ass to get back) and finally add Ridley to the game, I think they’re definitely listening to the fans and have some sort of single player experience in mind.

I was actually kind of disappointed that there’s only 2 new characters. I know they’ve got all of the old characters, but smash 4 was the only game I played so I don’t really care about wolf or pichu or Ice climbers or snake (I’m prepared for the angry mob) Also I really wanted an adventure mode, but I guess not. Also, smash was pretty much the only game shown. No Metroid prime 4, no Yoshi, no Splatoon dlc release date, I just felt a bit disappointed with the whole presentation. I mean, I’m really excited for smash ultimate, but I just wanted a bit more games
Keep in mind that the game releases in December. They have plenty of time to implement new characters.
