very odd to me Hygger has so many different models. I wonder what is their highest PAR model? I'd sure like to know. The Hygger 957 seems to be a lot brighter than the Hygger 978 so I know that for sure as these are the two Hyggers I've tried. So this one you've reviewed has a different controller than the 978 but basically looks the same. Now with the AQQA (Hygger) lights I wonder how the two differ if they do at all.

The highest PAR light Hygger makes is the Max Pro. I have two videos on it linked here:

      Hygger max pro test: ruclips.net/video/3qVwNEq5VrM/видео.htmlsi=VogMI7i4KeKq4Eyu
The AQQA comparable light to this one is reviewed here: AQQA Light Review | AQ045 Aquarium Light.

Im confused about the timer and how it works, when it says 6 hours is that 6 hours of darkness or six hours of light? I need to know because I am leaving for two weeks

Once you turn on the light, when you click the 6 hour timer button, the light will stay on for 6 hours and then turn off. It will turn back on automatically the next day at the same time for another 6 hour period and then turn off. 🤘

The light really improved the look of your livebearers tank, it is a shame the legs didn't fit your tank but Hygger may have made the light to fit tanks in the metric system, meant for 100 cm tanks or something along those lines.

Agree. But the box and web (Amazon) say it fits a 36” imperial measurement. As seen with the imperial measuring tape, the second tank I installed the light on was this exact measurement.
A small oversight and I think the light has the right lumen value for my setup but some tweaks need to be made.
Hygger has not responded to this review or email conversation yet, but if they do I’ll update the comments with a pinned comment.

I just measured my Hygger light on a 36", 40 breeder framed tank. The light is 34" and with the bracket it fits fine. My light is a few months old, and you likely received their latest model. Looks like they messed up a bit in a very basic way.

Agreed. My older lights from Hygger measure properly as well.

Their measurements are for an aquarium with the black rims... you have a rimmless aquarium so it throws things off about 1/4" on each side....

Could be. In this case it was the wrong SKU listed for this length. I have other Hygger lights that fit fine.

@@ssaquascapes He's right. It was obvious. Also I came to see how the light worked including some functions instead of seeing your individual plants and there problems.

I appreciate your support since day one. But I have to disagree. Because my most stable tanks, without algae, have Hygger lights. Maybe they’re low power, I don’t know, but they grow plants and don’t cause massive algae blooms. I am still learning balance with my aquariums. But the high power lights I have make it harder than Hygger lights. And let’s be honest here…Hygger lights are cheap. Good to start/experiment with. 🤷🏼‍♂️
