    My husband is the same way with building- measure & cut. This is definitely “The House That Jack Built”. At age 72 he is rebuilding his bathroom. Single Gals - you gotta marry a man who’s willing to work around the house. 💪🏼👏🏻🥳😘

    You want to add steps at the entrance into this building. Please extend your roof over it to protect your entrance from ice build up on steps.
    By the way your construction is impressive. Building looks cool!

      Yes I should. I didn’t design it that way though. At first I wasn’t having a door there just a door to the future mill area but decided it later. I’ll figure it out though. Cheers.

Stop panhandling for positive reinforcement 🤣, get on with the job, old man winter is coming and he is a CRANKY SOB 🤣 👍👍👍Thanks for sharing. Take care of yourself 🇨🇦

      @@HiddenSpringFarm I suppose we all have our things because I’m sitting here and sewing like I like to do, and I realized when I’m sewing a lot of times I change parts of the pattern and make things up as I go as I picture them in my head! So same thing, different hobby!

    Hello Chad, Great Job so far. I think you could use some saw horses when cutting those 4x8 sheets to save your back when bending over. Get some steps installed and then add a little front porch to protect the step's. Can't wait for part 3, Thanks Chad !

    I bought a house with a dilapidated shed in the back. Using a lot of reclaimed wood, scraps from the new development behind me, and probably 2 grand of new stuff, I rebuilt the dilapidated shed with the clear story windows. The windows act as an amplifier so I hear a lot of sounds from who knows where. Just subscribed.
    The size was determined by the three walls I left standing. Gotta leave three walls so it doesn't need a permit.

    I enjoy watching your homestead develop over time. Maybe you could watch a video on framing out windows and doorways. Looks like you're missing some jack and cripple studs ect.

    • @HiddenSpringFarm
      @HiddenSpringFarm  Год назад +2

      Appreciate the comment, after looking into it, my cripple studs are tied into the header directly with no Jack studs. so I’ll have to fix it so that they sit on the header which sits on the jacks. Thanks for mentioning it, it would most likely fail the inspection and I’d have to fix it, might as well fix it now so they think I know what I’m doing 😂 Cheers

    What a great build! I'm loving the design, and you make every build so unique. Even a workshop can look great, haha. I'm wondering, do you have to get building permits each time, would seem a big hassle and you mentioned you don't draw up plans.

    • @HiddenSpringFarm
      @HiddenSpringFarm  Год назад +1

      Thnx a million. On simple builds the gov is fine using hand drawn sketches with measurements, they still do inspections too. Not everything needs a permit it’s based on size and use.

    Look for a camping wood stove. Small, inexpensive in the grand picture, and designed for smaller spaces.

    • @HiddenSpringFarm

      I’ve seen some but they’re usually good for a large tent size, under 200 sq’. I’d need something a bit bigger.
