    It’s refreshing to see a level headed reaction to this news. I still have hope in the future if this franchise, and it’s just nice to see others do too. Stellar work as always!

      It’s hard not to be emotional and stay objective when faced with news like this but this seems to be what Joe does. So for now, I’m going to hope that history repeats itself and that Halo is better off thanks to the work he put into the studio.

    This was a really interesting take on Joe's departure at 343, I´m glad someone is taking this with optimism

      Historically, this is what Joe does. For now, I’m gonna trust the process and hope that there’s a bright future for Halo at the end of this long dark spot.

    They r out sourcing halo to other studios this is not the end of halo yes I was worried to so other studios gonna help develop halo infinite and the future halo is not dead at all I just hope they don't cancel campaign dlcs for infinite but time will tell I still have hope and love this series since day 1

    • @Woodyisasexybeast

      The out sourcing thing is currently just a rumor. One way or another, Halo will exist in the future in some form. It’s too big a franchise to completely lay to rest forever.

    Warp to now and they guy left Microsoft. I really hope the guy goes into do something great.
    I remember when people were saying he’d save Halo I didn’t have that much hope because it was clear 343 were just using him as a figurehead and the guy to deliver bad news because they knew we wouldn’t be mean to him since he’s one of the guys who made Halo. I didn’t think he was this perfect savior since he wasn’t in a true leadership position to fox the various problems.
    If there is any hope it will be in that Unreal Engine 5 thing or just people modding MCC. I remember until he had concrete proof about the Inreal Engine Switch I didn’t believe it because the news came from Sean W who can’t take criticism and is a whale who spent a bunch of money on the Infinite shop. For the longest time it seemed like nonsense given the source. Looks like he was right. I personally wish they would’ve just ditched Blam long before because it’s outdated, it was a bad foundation to work on because Bungie didn’t really document how their spaghetti code worked, along with them killing it through contract workers not truly understanding how it worked. Personally I think if they just made the visuals looks right, tweaked how the physics worked, and some other things it would feel like authentic Halo. This was a long time coming.
    I also don’t think Bungie would’ve been able to carry on Halo because in between Reach’s development and Destiny 1’s dumpster fire launch there was a massive shakeup in the organizational structure and their internal culture had radically changed. Also, Destiny 2 didn’t even get good until several years after it’s disastrous launch where they completely overhauled the game otherwise they were going to go under. The new few Halos would not have been good if that’s anything to go by. The people who wanted Bungie to return (even before Sony bought them) clearly didn’t know the Bungie that made all these amazing games/settings was no more being replaced with a corporate shell.
    There is a part of me that thinks Microsoft’s plan b for Gearbox to take over would’ve been the right choice, but we can’t say considering their output hasn’t been good for a long time. Some of the things they’ve made have been really good, while others were really bad. I will say I’d be lying if I told you that I wouldn’t want to see Aliens Colonial Marines with Halo marines purely because it would be so funny (just replace the Xenomorphs with either Flood or Covenant and have those mercenaries be Rebels/Insurrectionists). It’s so funny how in that game they sacrificed an entire ship just to save one guy😂🤣
    I want to be optimistic about the future, but I’m not sure what to think of the current state. Some things have been good while others were super bad. We’ll just have to wait and see.

      Halo seems to have been destined for a rocky road. Ha. Destined.
      I only hope that Joe came in and fixed the problems they were having. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence to me that basically all of the old leadership was let go and the MCC revival team have now taken the wheel. MCC is a thing of beauty these days and the guys responsible for that are at the helm now. Maybe, just maybe they can finally right the ship. That’s definitely me being optimistic but I see no other option really. It’s either be optimistic or assume Halo is well and truly dead, which is something I just can’t do. I’m too invested.
      Season 3 is promising. I loved the new cutscenes. Things are moving in the right direction but if you ask me, they need to hold off on adding content and just do a big bug fixing update. Infinites multiplayer is infuriatingly glitchy.

    Do you think 343 can save Halo?

    • @Woodyisasexybeast
      @Woodyisasexybeast  3 месяца назад

      Tbh, I don’t think Halo really needs saving. It’s one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time. Even if 343 and Microsoft were somehow wiped from the Earth, another studio would eventually pick up the pieces and continue. The IP is worth too much money to shelve.

      @@Woodyisasexybeast by the way do you like 343?

    • @Woodyisasexybeast
      @Woodyisasexybeast  3 месяца назад

      The entity that is the studio? Kind of a broad question. I don’t know any of the developers personally but I can’t imagine they’re any less Halo fans than you or I. At least, most of them anyways. I do like things that were made under 343.
      Halo 4 is amazing.
      Halo 5 is a decent game, despite the hate it gets.
      Halo Infinite is pretty damn solid, at least in regards to its campaign. The multiplayer is better nowadays but at release, it was a broken mess and I didn’t care for it at all.
      I also think the Forerunner saga is incredible. Cryptum, Primordium, Silentium and Epitaph are not only amazing pieces of Halo fiction but they’re some of the BEST pieces of Halo fiction, period.
      In short: I really appreciate how 343 has handled lore. Books, comics, games, they’re all valued the same and I think that’s awesome. What I don’t appreciate is the broken states their games have launched in and the knee jerk changes they seemed to make to their narratives in response to the reactions of vocal parts of the fanbase. Shelving the Didact sucked, shelving the created sucked but this issue isn’t exactly exclusive to 343 either. Bungie did the same things back in the day. A vocal portion of the fanbase didn’t like the lore and world building in Halo 2 and as a result, Arbiter was reduced to barely being a character in Halo 3. Just my two cents.

      I don’t think Joe will come back to 343. But I’d say his departure likely means his job is done. Perhaps 343 has been successfully restructured.
