      @@Woodyisasexybeast5:58 I'm no expert but there are hidden scripts and features that can be re-enabled through code manipulation. Now this wasn't as easily possible on the OG or Anniversary Halo: Combat Evolved compared to Newer Ports to MCC. However for some odd reason it became more likely for the console port to Halo MCC and even more likely most of the time on Halo MCC PC Port. Due to this various impossible triggers or content can be reactivated even for a time.
      A good example of this's if your lucky you can see Forge World Map in Firefight for Halo: Reach and Play It now you'll be stuck on a Black Screen however not entirely you can still interact with the game not to mention a other visual will pop-up sometime before the Black Screen or a bit after.
      With this Knowledge you can even trick the game into launching vehicles at you for you to get inside of. In-Game Example: Halo 3 Double Banshee drops on the Covenant one at the First Hornet Section usually near the Anti-Air Wraith and one right before the Second Set of Hornets. It will drive towards a tree and your location if your ontop of the tree before that tree in front if done right. Another example has you fusing a Scarab Leg into the ground from a Dead Scarab if done early enough and with luck it can keep you alive longer from vehicles on SLASO. This can also apply to certain parts of the Pillar of Autumn and even The Maw and can even prevent Flood or Sentinels from spawning in Certain Areas like the First Flood Section of The Maw when the door bursts open or the One where you get to a Terminal further down that hallway which can lower the amount of Flood and Flood Carrier Forms Drastically.

    Why? Why would you EVER subject yourself to this? Rocketsloth do all kinds of dumb challenges like this, but they’ll at least take the easy way out by playing on Easy and occasionally throwing in a few Skulls. This looks like a truly abysmal experience.
    If I were you I’d just skip the Library since it’s not necessary because of the lack of Grunts, and I’ll usually just skip it anyways because it’s the worst mission of the game (takes place right after my favorite part of the game. The Flood work great when mixed with other enemies, but on their own they’re absolute cancer to deal with). Or more accurately I’d just NOT do this in the first place (same goes for playing unmodded Halo 2 Legendary).
    It’s too bad that it took till the second game to make the marines not die quickly from gettin g stunlocked, being able to swap weapons with them, and have partially regenerating health. In most cases they were largely useless compared to how they were in future games.
    It’s too bad that Bungie never gave the rocket Flood a visual indication like they did for the Sniper/Marksman Jackals from 3 onwards. If the rocket were to have a light or a laser pointer getting killed by them would feel a lot less cheap. There’s this Reach mod Hand of the Prophets’ where you play as an Elites and the power weapons have different colored laser pointers to give you a heads up. That Mercury Rising mod also gives the sniper marines red laser pointers, and the sniper Slugmen’s weapons glow before they fire. Even though it doesn’t make much sense from a real world perspective, I’m perfectly fine with it for the sake of balancing.

    • @Woodyisasexybeast
      @Woodyisasexybeast  6 месяцев назад +1

      For everyone else’s enjoyment, of course. I love a challenge though. I’m not usually one to take the easy way out. Unless it’s logical to do so but the whole point of this was to make it a challenge and anything other than legendary simply wouldn’t be.
      Some parts really sucked but all things considered, I enjoyed a good portion of this run. Deconstructing the missions, looking for alternative routes, new strategies I’d never thought to try, and so on was surprisingly satisfying. Finding new ways to play a game I’ve beaten hundreds of times helps breathe new life into it. Normally while playing these games, I’m just on auto pilot. I don’t really think about what I’m doing anymore, even on legendary but this changed that. It was a weird puzzle. I like solving problems and that’s really all this was.
      Believe it or not, I had more fun editing this video than any other before it. I love making lore content but it was nice to do something totally different.
      Did you stick around for the “post credits” scene? I had fun editing that

    • @shreksnow1918
      @shreksnow1918 5 месяцев назад +1

      I guess I can see that. It’s good that you had fun making the video even if a good chunk of the challenge sucked. Whenever someone does this kind of thing that Jurassic Park quote about how Hammond’s scientists were so eager to see if they could and never stopped to think if they should. You should really read the books if you haven’t. They’re really good. For the time they contained a lot of accurate information about the dinosaurs with a few liberties. Something that’s really interesting is in the first book it was implied that all the dinosaurs could only see movement from the frog dna and it was never treated as something that was actually discussed by scientists. In the second book the guy retconned it and he actually went out of his way to explain why a major predator like a trex only being able to see movement was completely nonsensical. The reason it sometimes didn’t attack non moving targets in the second book was the thing was being territorial, it wasn’t hungry, or something other reason. The reason the author did that in the first book was because he couldn’t think of another way for the characters to be able to escape from something as powerful as a Trex. It goes into detail on just how woefully unprepared Hammond and his team were when it came to dealing with those animals. The fence being shut off was just the draw that broke the camel’s back and a breach like that would’ve been inevitable. Also, a lot of the criticisms people have for why the park would never work were actually addressed in the book, and that’s was kind of the point. Kind of like how in Dune the whole point of the story is the fact that Paul ISN’T the hero and is instead a tyrant who used the Fremen’s beliefs to gain power. It’s always interesting when in a story if something doesn’t make sense it’s actually the point of the story. Kind of like the Great Journey being a lie is the whole point of Halo 2.
      More on the topic of Halo 2, after you pointed that out I went back and watched the ending. I’m sure that being to be an awful experience. Something that’s really interesting about Halo 2 is in the original storyboarded ending Truth’s plan actually made perfect sense. Let’s just say he had a reason to kill off the other two hierarchs and plunge his own empire into civil war. It also would’ve tied into what the Human Covenant War was started to cover up, with the Ark being located in East Africa where modern humans originated some 100,000 years ago. We also missed out on the Arbiter having a complete character arc where after learning that Truth knew the Rings would kill everything he’d be disgusted, then removed his helmet and throws it on the ground rejecting the title that Truth gave him. Then after killing Truth and Chief deactivates the Array he’d be led by Spark to the Ark’s central chamber where we’d see the “big reveal”. I prefer this ending to what we got in the retail game, and Halo 3’s story was just bad. It’s abundantly clear that Bungie was just filling out a checklist of things that needed to happen and put little to no thought for how they’d connect. Truth and Miranda both took a noticeable drop in intelligence, and the Arbiter was reduced to a side character because a bunch of idiots got upset that we didn’t play as Chief the entirety of 2 (without the Arbiter the Covenant wouldn’t have gotten the much needed development we saw in 2). Bungie also overcorrected on the Brutes being broken bullet sponges, and tried to force them into the officer role that was left vacant by the Elites. In addition to that they also nurtured dual wielding with the 1.5 damage and accuracy penalty because the “pro players” complained (the Assault Rifle was also actually useful in an earlier build of the game where if you feathered the trigger the thing was actually effective at mid range. I think it’s safe to say the esports crowd cried about that, just like they do with every weapon that isn’t the Battle Rifle. I’m of the opinion that the competitive side of Halo can go break their teeth chewing on gravel because they’re directly responsible for so many of the issues with the sandbox and why modern gaming had things nobody likes like skill based match making. The funny thing is if you took these same “high skill players” and put them into something that isn’t casual and actually requires skill like Quake Deathmatch or Unreal Tournament they’d be curb stomped, and wouldn’t be able to cry to the devs to nerf certain weapons like they do in Infinite). As far as gameplay is concerned Halo is ghetto best campaign, but it has a few balancing issues and a TERRIBLE “story” that fails to properly build on what was set up in 2. It REALLY shows that Jason Jones and Joseph Staten weren’t there for most of 3’s development. My 2 ideal Halos would be a remake of 2 that gives us Bungie’s original vision (adds the best aspects of Halo 2 Uncut/Digsite, gives us 3’s third act, as well as showing cool things that were in the storyboards and cut levels that would’ve better fleshed out the story. I’d also want a few major changes like giving Brutes much of their H3 arsenal/armor once they rank up in the Covenant, having human enemies and Brute allies in the Arbiter’s missions prior to the Great Schism, better fleshing out the Heretics like certain mods do, backporting ideas from ODST into New Mombasa, and the third act’s levels would be similar to things we’d see in 3), and a remake of ODST that turns it into a tactical shooter with a fully fleshed out stealth system (think Rainbow Six mixed with Splinter Cell, but with Halo content) and Elites being the main enemies for a good chunk of the game (Generalkidd has a video showing off that if you spawn Elites into ODST they’re hostile towards both the player and Covenant. The reason this happens is because Elites are on Team Covenant, while the Brutes are on Team Prophets. Based on this I think it’s safe to say that early on Bungie planned on having enemy Elites and having a portion of the Great Schism happen early on earth before the Covenant have their full civil war in 2. Such a shame that didn’t happen. It also would’ve been awesome if Elites had their H2 arsenal and Brutes had their H3 arsenal to made the two sides contrast in terms of visuals and technology). What would your ideal Halo be?

      @Woodyisasexybeast  5 месяцев назад +1

      @shreksnow1918 your reference to Dr. Ian Malcom’s famous quote from Jurassic Park made me genuinely lol.
      I agree with most of what you have to say regarding Halo 3. In my opinion, it’s easily one of, if not the worst campaign from a narrative perspective. It has great set pieces but the stripping away of characters nuance is a damn shame. I always bring up the treatment Arby in 3 when people talk shit on 343 shelving the created, ignoring the fact that bungie literally did the exact same thing. Halo 3 was frustrating then and Infinite is frustrating now for those reasons. I still love the two games but I’ll be damned if they couldn’t have been so much cooler.
      My ideal Halo game is always and will always be a first person Flood survival horror in the vein of Alien Isolation. Why they didn’t hire Creative Assembly to do it still boggles my mind. They could put you in the shoes of a marine during a flood infestation or maybe even a grunt during the fall of high charity. I’ve been begging for this for years. People would buy the absolute shit out of that.

    Speaking of CE did you hear about the leaks for a CE remaster or remake that will come out on PlayStation/Switch 2? If those are real it’s almost certainly going to be in Unreal5 since 343 completely destroyed BLAM through hiring contract workers. There’s rumors that it will incorporate elements form the show, and I REALLY don’t want them to do that since most of the show was a dumpster fire (if they do have aspects of the show they NEED to have a flashback where Keyes dies in a gas explosion BEFORE they even make it to the Ring🤣).
    Instead of that they should just port MCC over to other systems with various fixes/quality of life improvements, and throwing in certain approved mods like what Bethesda did for Fallout 4/Skyrim.
    My idealized CE remake would be like the Dead Space/Resident Evil remakes where the story is mostly faithful, with some elements from later lore, and is able to foreshadow events that didn’t exist at the time. Gameplay would be mostly faithful, but with cut content where appropriate and certain quality of life improvements from other games (think Ruby’s Rebalanced).

      What they should’ve done was make a deal where some of Sony’s games would come to Xbox. Otherwise there’s no real insentive to buy and Xbox if you’ll get everything else on a Switch/PS5 anyways. The only way I can see them turning this around is if the Xbox handheld and new system run natively on Windows and are basically pc console hybrids. Then they’ll be able to have oc storefronts for certain compatible games.
      I can definitely understand why a lot of people would be pissed at this since it would seem like Microsoft is spitting in the face of the people who supported the brand. Fortunately, for me I mostly use mine for older games through backwards compatibility, and play a bunch of pc games on my laptop/Steam Deck.
      Do whatever you feel works best for you. Also, I HIGHLY recommend if you’re mad to do several drafts/recordings and pick the one where you’re most calm.

      @Woodyisasexybeast That’s good to know that you won’t be having a meltdown on camera. If you do make a video it should be a mix of your idealized CE remake (my idealized CE remake would be most of what I said in the past about my ideal Halo show, but as a video game. For multiplayer you’d have it be multisystem crossplay since that will only help the play base and IP. ), and also talking about what will most likely happen (some people were saying they should bring back the original devs, but sadly if the thing is real that likely won’t happen. Someone made this Twitter post pointing out the various ways 343 was cancerous towards current/former Bungie devs who worked on Halo and showed how they didn’t want to hire the Bungie people. The studio is also pretty hostile towards the fans and don’t listen most of the time. It would be nice if things got better with the new leadership, but I don’t have much faith in the studio since once a studio gets that kind of culture it’s VERY hard for them to shake it. Also, the way they’ve treated the Bungie people is disgusting, but at the same time it’s VERY hard for me to feel bad for the Bungie devs because they treated anyone not them who touched Halo THE EXACT SAME WAY. They were openly hostile towards Ensemble during the development of Halo Wars, were super difficult to work with, and repeatedly tried to get the game shutdown. If you search Eric Trautmann Halo interview you’ll find a Reddit thread talking about how bad to work with Bungie were, and has a link to this 17 minute video that’s a compilation of all the Halo questions he was asked on some podcast. Bungie originally HATED the idea of ODSTs, but after seeing how popular those units were when they were brought into 2 Bungie had no issues taking full credit for something they didn’t even make. My thoughts on both studios are really mixed. There’s various aspects of both I really do and don’t like. Both should receive praise when they do something good, and both should be heavily criticized when they do something wrong. Also, ignoring the fact Sony owns them now anyone who wants Bungie to return to Halo clearly has not been paying attention to the complete train wreck that studio has become. So many of the people who made it what it was have long since jumped ship). I’m sure if the remake is real they’ll probably have someone else make it. Regardless of how the hypothetical thing turns out it will DEFINITELY be interesting to see if real. It could be truly phenomenal, mediocre, or a complete dumpster fire. Only time will tell, and it will be interesting to see where this road leads us.
      Makes sense. I’m not married so I can’t really relate, but I can kind of understand since sometimes I’ll go without seeing a close friend or family member for a long time. Reuniting with them is always fun to do. Sadly, now that we’re adults and busy with life there isn’t much time to visit. You cherish the moments you get with them. Thanks to the Internet we can stay in touch (it’s crazy just how much that invention changed humanity).
      Good luck on that👍. I was refraining on responding before the Xbox showcase. Funny thing about that is all they had to do was somehow NOT burst into flames like they’ve been doing with those studio closures and they’d win when comparing it to the Summer Games Fest and Sony State of Play. What we got was shockingly good. There’s a new Gears of War (most excited for that. E-Day is a really cool event that sadly hasn’t been explored. Too bad there’s no Gears Tactics 2 electric boogaloo. There’s sadly no MCC Gears Collection either. That would print them money), and a bunch of other cool stuff. Unfortunately, the console they announced was just a Series X without the disk drive, no Steam integration, and nothing on the handheld (it would be funny if the handheld was somehow as bad as the PlayStation Portal. Which is just a far worse WiiU controller😂. I’m one of 8 humans who actually owned a WiiU. There’s a lot of great games that sadly haven’t been ported to Switch. If you don’t have a Switch you should get one, or wait till the Switch 2 comes out. The games on it are a tremendous amount of fun).
      Good luck with your business trip or whatever you’re doing. Hopefully, your job isn’t too hard on you.

      I’m with you in regards to 343/bungie. It’s always best to keep in mind (not that you aren’t) that these studios aren’t singular entities. They’re huge groups of people with diverse personalities, some of which just so happen to be assholes. There seems to be evidence of plenty of that from both studios, unfortunately. Sadly, I ran into some computer trouble so the video regarding the alleged remake didn’t get made. It’ll have to wait until I get back, though I’m not sure there would be a point as it would no longer be relevant. We’ll see how I feel when I get home.
      I didn’t expect anything from Halo so with that mindset, I thought the show was very solid. Doom looked incredible, of course and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into the lore they establish in that game. Gears is an amazing series and I’m very much so looking forward to E-Day. Dom’s appearance and the Mad World music queue almost brought a tear to my eye. I don’t understand why they haven’t made a Marcus Fenix collection though. Gears 2 seriously needs some love because it looks pretty dated compared to all of the others. I’m also very interested in the Life Is Strange sequel. I loved the first game. To me, it’s one of the greatest games ever made for the story alone, even if the gameplay can be mediocre.
      I also had a Wii U. Ha.
      Nah, it’s a great job. Being away from home for extended periods of time is sucky but I’m out doing cool stuff. My father is also a RUclipsr (far more successful than myself, he has over 1 million subscribers) centered around photography. A lot of his followers want his expertise and as such, we conduct photography/wildlife tours where we teach people about animals and how to take decent photos. Some of the groups are bigger or divided up so I’m sort of second in command. I get to go to cool places, teach people about interesting things and make decent money while doing it so it really is a great job. Again, I’m just not a fan of being away from my wife and animals for so long.
