Ten years ago I planted a tree. I should've played sc2 instead.
XP drops can be seen through fog of war, nice for confirming corrosive bile kills etc
The most important thing about "Display Experience Points" is that it even gives you this indication when you kill something which is in the fog of war. Just imagine that you bile a canon on the high ground. The XP indicator will tell you if the canon got destroyed or not. Great video, thx for creating so much SC2 content.
Disabling windows key is important and can save you frustration
If you are like me that has a "turn pc off" key on your keyboard, removing them will have the same results

My keyboard had 3 keys, one to shut it off, another to put it on rest and the third I don't remember now.
Ofc I'm going to take these stupid ass keys off when I kept accidentally pressing them lol
My kb has a gaming mode that i can toggle that disables keys of my choice while enabled, love that feature XD

Scout more. Honestly, if you understand the mechanics of the game, and what is good against what, scouting is all you need to move forward.
Thats a healthy count of games per day. You will get to gold soon
Not only scout but watch more replays online. Stick to a couple of builds, practice Vs Ai (to hone in those build timings), and you will get to platinum/diamond in no time. Also press f12 for unit description
One option I quite like is to use player colours for the health bars (with them always showing). It may be stupid but it helps me to identify easily how many allied/enemy units are in combat.
First setting to change: SC2 music -> OG SC MUSIC

I remember reinstalling Starcraft 2 a couple of years ago and being so damn confused that I could not select enemy units until I remembered why :D

I love geography, and spent 5yrs in Europe for the army, and this moment hurt me so much. But I'd also like to give the benefit of the doubt, and guess he just didn't hear himself make the mistake, or he would've corrected it. I hope he isn't one to truly believe Europe is a country while he isn't trying to get through a speech.. Hopefully. 😅

Feeling inspired after the intro to this video
Played like a mad man between release and late 2015, got to 5k mmr quite a few times with random, constantly watch winter videos on the side screen while working now including the 5 hours marathons of angry coach; still check's a video for newbies lol

Inspirational intro is the best part.
If you play zerg switch the keys from “base camara” to space and “Jump to Last Alert” to Backspace
It is good, but I think is better to get rid of F2 and rebound F1 to start using all F Keys for camera locations

@@PatricioBenavente I did it a year ago. You lose time when you want to go to an specific base. Clicking the minimap is faster. Using camera locations is even faster and can be used for other things.
@Haakon Løtveit well, thats a good, different approach to the same thing: using camera locations.
Personally, I still prefer the F keys because I play guitar and it feels more natural to me to use all 4 fingers instead of keeping the pinky in a modifier key. Also, for some reason I find easy to move my hand in y axis but hard in x axis. That's why F keys aren't hard for me to reach.

Actually there are very good reasons to enable XP: you can get confirmation of unit kills even if you can't see the unit (think DTs, Observers, burrowed lurkers or cloaked ghosts). XP is also visible if the unit dies in the FoW.
Can you make a new Terran build order guide? Lol I remember an Angry Coach where you yelled at a guy for following the last one so I’m wondering if the last one needs updating.

Yay, reached diamond 3 with WinterStarctaft standard build guide
Windows mouse / keyboard settings - enable pointer precision off / repeat delay short - respectively.
Then the three basic hotkey changes - move everything off of letters past h (especially building fly). Make a "spam key" for Ghost snipe, Ravager bile, Warp Zealot, Transfuse, Spawn Creep Tumor, anything that you usually otherwise have to click a lot for. Make the "spam key" also be the "select ability target" key (which still allows you to use your mouse) and there you go, settings accomplished.
(Where is "select ability target"? IDK. Do you think I play Starcraft? If you can't find it look at Winter's hotkey guide from forever ago)
What’s a spam key? And how does it work?
@@jimmydawson5509 Watch Winter's old hotkey guide. Basically, you just hold down the button and it has the same effect as clicking very rapidly with the mouse, so you can just drag your mouse with the button held down to, say, warp in a line of zealots.
Okay, so it's actually "Choose Ability or A.I. Target", not "select ability target" and it can be found under "unit management" in the global hotkey settings.

I would have expected rapid fire to have been mentioned as well. I guess that is perhaps a bit more advanced, but it sure would help new players as well.
Id recommend new players to not use rapid fire for ravagers as zerg yet. Just keep popping one or two at a time. I
I don't think new player can even do rapid fire. Nor do they even try without it
Also not advisable as ghost, since they would sniping 1 unit with 10 ghost and don't know how much ghost need to take a certain unit down
I don't know in rank, yet the Prefered Game Server works best on Custom Games.
I'm from SEA and not having the best of Internet so we change Servers from time to time on whats the best latency for us that time during Customs...

Tried turning on select enemy units, ended up messing me up when trying to use mass transfuse or Biles.
Would click once too many and select enemy units I think?
For low mechanical players or ex/league of legends players, set all the abilities and building hockey’s on QWER or somewhere you can easily go with one hand without looking. Made the game so much easier for me.
that should actually be a default hotkey profile option imo, i personally don't use it but it's very common in many games including other full on rts'

And the server region ingame is different from the login region too!

Reduce mouse lagg helps if you have good PC. Clicks will be more responsive but FPS will drop

I must be missing something because I didn't have the game speed slider in the gameplay options menu the last time I changed something.

enemy unit selection is off by default so new players know that is not their unit to control.. to stop confusion for dummies.. i noticed lots of things were added to SC2 to make it more accessible to newer players..
I have a friend that in the middle of fights accidentally selects enemy units and find that option turned off useful

It has been years and this entire time, I’ve had the flyer helper turned off.
I have never successfully landed a fungal or bile, and I always waste extra storms because I could never aim them correctly vs air. Units glow red when you’re aiming below them, so that’s how I managed this whole time…
I think I still have the keyboard I removed the windows key from when I was like 12.. Warcraft 2 would get me going man
I don't understand the simple command card being the default option. It should be opt in and be an accessibility option for children playing
If you need the simple command card then you don't know how to turn it on. If you don't need it then you do know how to turn it off.

What about ghosts and marines in the same group? How to steam fast? I know u can tab and then press t but u lose 1 sec that is so important in the middle of the fight.
It's all about preference. If you feel that you just simply can't get used to press tab in the middle of a fight, then use different control groups.
As a zerg, I put Vipers and Infestors in different control groups for that exact same reason
@@atata2000 I use tab... a lot! You can actually put multiple different units in the same control group and count the tabs then if you program your brain you automatically tab the amounts of time to get the spell you want. It's not conventional but it;s what i do
put tab on the mousewheel!

Why does it matter? the 10 settings, should be renamed to 4 settings. 6 of which you don't know how to explain, don't fully understand (even though you've been plaaying this game for a very very long time), and can't demostrate properly.
