  • Process of printing a lino block.
I use Forbo Walton soft grey lino ( battleship grey lino) and Caligo Safe wash ink from Cranfield colours (for this print, a mix of prussian blue and process blue)
My carving tools are Flexcut and Pfeil. The slipstrop to hone the tools is also from Flexcut.
The paper I used for this print was Zerkall paper which, unfortunately, doesn't exist anymore. I'm currently printing this block in Silver white Awagami paper.
This print also exists as a giclee print and it's available in my Ko-fi shop.

This is so beautiful, I found the process of making the Linocut to be very soothing.

I just found your channel and subscribed straight away :-) Your art is so beautiful, mesmerising. It's so nice and interesting to see the creative and technical process. It's really like magic! You are a Master. Linocut is the most difficult art technique I tried! So to reach yr level I will need another hundred years of practise, 8 hours a day and I am sure that I will still carve the wrong parts🙂.
Thank you so much for sharing 🙏, I love yr videos too.

This is such a lovely, kind comment, thank you so much! I'm not a master, though! And believe me, you won't need a really long time long to learn lino printing. If you really enjoy it, you'll soon get the hang of it! Enjoying something is the best way to learn it! Good luck and happy printing! 😊❤️

Great video, thank you for posting :) Can I ask please which brand of carbon paper do you use? Do you find certain brands better than others for being less likely to transfer to the finished print (and do you have any tips for preventing this?)

@@jessw2283 thank you! 😊 I just use whatever carbon paper is available. I go over the lines with an acrylic pen to avoid smudging. After it's all carved, I clean the acrylic with alcohol. If there's any acrylic/carbon left after this, it will just come off in the test prints. Hope this helps! Happy printing! 😊
