All my adult life I have been a monarchist and opposed to a republican model for Australia. I now have changed my mind. As long as the leader of the nation continues to be a career politician who owes those who get him there we will continue to suffer these idiots who are only interested in staying in tbe job. I now believe we need a freely elected president so it is possible that we can have a leader who isn’t tied to factions donors unions etc, a person who wants to do the job not a person who needs a job.

The part of this conversation that is missing is that there is very minimal differentiation between the two parties. Nobody likes Albo but what are the conservatives offering that is different? They won't oppose Net Zero, bring down migration nor propose any real economic reforms themselves such as cutting the size of government by at least 30%. Nobody sees them as a solution to anything.
