      An indicator called the quality of manufacturing factor has seen Australia slide from in the top 20 economies to 102 .Bangladesh is 67.Manufacturing makes up only around 3% of our GDP now,back in the 1980's it used to be around 20 %.Blame it on successive governments since then,since the Lima WTO Agreement of 1974. One thing is for sure !!Albanese Labour will never revive manufacturing in Australia with its rush towards " net zero " emissions.Due to this crazy high energy( electricity) will continue, unsustainable.This plan,FUTURE MADE IN AUSTRALIA is a total dud !!Australia's only wind turbine manufacturer recently went bankrupt unable to compete with China mainly due to our high energy costs.There are several green energy projects planned where companies have decided to withdraw. Who is going to invest in Australian manufacturing ?

      Globally, many times more people die from cold than heat. The only reason we don't get even more people dying from cold is that we humans are smart enough to build shelter for ourselves, make clothing to keep us warm and have invented heating. Hang on a sec - all of these require energy - who knew! If it wasn't for us being able to do these things, we would still only be able to survive in tropical regions of the world. We Aussies complain about the heat a lot, but that's because Australia is a HOT country. There's not too many places in Oz that get TRULY cold. If there was, we would be having far more blackouts from our piece of shit "green" energy grid not being able to keep up with the heating demand. People would be lighting up their wood fires even more. Oh, wait a minute, burning wood produces far more CO2 than coal for the amount of energy produced!
      So, you are correct. We need to keep coal and gas going until we get something that will do the job just as reliably and adequately - Nuclear!

This is Australia, we omit well under 2% of the worlds emissions. Even if we stopped generating all power, stopped driving trucks and cars, stopped breeding cattle, go back to living in caves with no fires, there would be NO difference to the worlds emissions! Bowen is destroying our forests, farmlands and animal habitats and the reason he refuses to tell Australians the costs involved - he doesn't know. Bowen's unreliable renewables have to be replaced every 14-20 years and have 6 monthly maintenance . These unreliables will be a FOREVER NEVERENDING cost to not only this generation but all future generations and getting more expensive time after time. The idiot Bowen would have been better planting a million trees .

      The irony is that if you look at the REAL science, it suggests a more likely cooling period not heat. Certainly in Australia, Sydney where I live, the last four Summers have been mild, cooler and wetter. That is of course if you don't listen to the monumental BS from people like the BOM and RFS. Who of course tell people that every f-ing year is hotter than the last and there will be the worst bushfires in history, non of which actually happens. They just blatantly lie. The infuriating thing is that these people are such monumental morons, they appear to have forgotten that people can read thermometers, have their own data producing weather stations and basically know from personal experience that they are wrong.

      In the 70's, we were taught about 'the water cycle' in school science lessons. The concept was that the sun warmed the sea, created evaporation which formed clouds, clouds came over the land and rained, the rain went into rivers and back out to sea and the cycle repeated.
      Mr Flannery claimed that due to 'climate change' (or whatever name incarnation it had at the time) dams would dry up and land would turn into a desert. Evidently he wasn't taught about the water cycle because if he had, he would know that if you add more heat, it would cause more rain, not less.
      It is this turning of basic science on its head by people like Mr Flannery that gave me a clue that this was never about science because it wasn't conforming to scientific principals that had long been known.
      I think Dr Richard Lindzen summed it up well:
      “CO2 for different people has different attractions. After all, what is it? - it’s not a pollutant, it’s a product of every living creature’s breathing, it’s the product of all plant respiration, it is essential for plant life and photosynthesis, it’s a product of all industrial burning, it’s a product of driving ‚ I mean, if you ever wanted a leverage point to control everything from exhalation to driving, this would be a dream. So it has a kind of fundamental attractiveness to bureaucratic mentality.” - Richard S. Lindzen, Ph.D. Professor of Atmospheric Science, MIT

      It is about de-industrialising the west and re-distributing its wealth to poorer countries. COP a few weeks ago basically mandated that transfer of money by formalising that Western countries were to blame for all the 'climate damage' in poor countries.
      Very early on, I concluded that this was never about science or saving the planet because every solution involved some kind of socialist wealth transfer money-go-round.
      When the rich folk start selling their harbour-side mansions and someone can prove to me that paying a tax to government will change the weather and they can quantify it, then I might start 'believing' the 'new religion' of 'climate change'.

    I have been, like Andrew, folloving this climate change con for some 20 years. And even though I am not a scientist in any sense of the word, I know a fair bit about the issue because I read about it almost daily. This is the reason why I disagree with Mr. Lomborg. No, there is no problem with the climate. We are living in the coldest part of the last 5000 years, so what's the panic? And no, burning fossil fuels is not driving CO2 levels up. Humanity contributes only just under 4% of CO2, the rest is all produced naturally. And even if we were increasing the concentration of CO2, it would not matter because dozens of studies in recent years have shown conclusively that CO2 is NOT controlling the Earth's temperature. Maybe Andrew should invite a real, honest climate scientist next time.

    how the hell is money going to change the sun, which controls our climate. But he forgot to mention the extra food we get from higher CO2 in the atmosphere, and its at a historical low and we only contribute 3% to CO2, which is way too low.

    • @gppsoftware
      @gppsoftware Месяц назад

      One of the benefits of being an older person is that we have seen several seasonal cycles in our lifetime. The problem is that young folk have only seen the upward leg of one cycle (AKA Al Gore's hockey stick) and assume that everything is getting hotter. The whole 'climate change' scam is based on selective use of data and taking data out of context for political purposes. It has absolutely nothing to do with science.

Why is your power bill so high, because its largely determined by gas prices. Does Australia have plenty of gas, yes but we pay more for it than Indonesia, Japan, Sth Korea. Why is that, why dont we have a reservation price, why are they paying minimal royalties and tax. Ask Angus Taylor he signed off on it.
