Megatron’s cannon is always on his arm ingame. His arm doesn’t transform to use his cannon, only other weapons
I think it's this way because in the second game he replaces his arm for the cannon.
When this came out before the Concept Art Megatron, The Gamer Edition is so small that he will stand out if you want to mix him with your Live Action Transformers

Gamer Edition’s honestly been on a winning streak this year. Starscream’s good, Sideswipe’s great, the Deceptigrunt is an improvement on Barricade (shocker, I know), and Ratchet looks pretty solid.
I don't know that I'd call sideswipe great.
1:34 - Ngl, this looks just like so cursed, the some goes to Grimlock... And I don't know, I love this designs, like a lot. They're the great example of, simple, but also complicated I would like call it.
I would not call these simple. They are absolutely over designed. Nothing can be a straight surface on them, they have to have dozens of angles force in for nothing but decorative purpose.

The main reasons people are like “UUUHHH Dis is Twash beyond my Wectym” Is because of the knees, And apparently they didn’t realise Sharp objects exist

THANK YOU. Somebody who finally gives this thing a decently positive review. I've had it since April, and got it alongside Starscream. So far, I've only gotten them, Sideswipe, and Optimus, and I'd say the experience really left me liking Gamer Edition. Then again, I have made sure to avoid Barricade and Bumblebee/Cliffjumper

I always laugh thinking of Megatron trying to fire his canon (either as a hover craft or a helicopter like in animated) only for him to go flying backwards.
…Starscream probably convinced him having a flying alt mode would “improve his performance”.
He'd probably flip upside down and just face plant into the ground like that.
That does sound like a Starscream Plan.
Finally! Someone else who has something to say other than “THE KNEES!” Jokes aside I love this figure.
Yeah I'm surprised I'm like the only one. How did no one else try the knees anyways despite the leg pegs.
I have no idea but have to admit I am guilty of not relising you can just untab them the slightest amount. I clipped mines pegs without thinking.

I think the issue with the head is that they needed to make it a bit bigger so it can properly house the detail. Also this guy has something not a lotof transformers have: gauntlet rotation which allows for some cool poses
I've seen smaller heads handle detail better, but yes he does have a tiny little baby bean.

This is genuinely my favorite gamer edition figure. Modified mine to remove the knee pegs and have a smoother up and down at the head, but he rocks.
Mines Probably the Optimus, but this is probably my second favorite.

I'd say it's not the torso that should be shruken, but the stomach to be enlarged
But that just makes him even more bloated, and even more over heavy, with less ability to move.

This is a very special figure to me. Me, my brother and our friends are doing a big D&d campaign and me and my brothers characters are based off of Optimus and Megatron. (Their names are Pietrov K'yullen and Manifred Tatasciore btw) This is the figure I use to represent Manifred and my brother uses the gAMer EdiTiON Optimus. Also I met Fred Tatasciore (his VA) at a con and I told him about Manifred and he thought it was so cool. I got him to sign the character sheet.
I love those names. Does anyone else get the joke?

@PerspectiveEnd The only one who got it before we explained it was my friend Luke who is a TF fan. Also we don't use Dnd minis, me and my brother just bring them along and mess with them while the session is going on. We use Dnd Beyond
I think this is the nicest commentary I've seen directed at this Megatron. Personally I feel both Optimus, and Megatron were missed opportunities to make some really stand out figures in the Leader Class scale. The budgetary restraints really hurt the production value all around.
Yeah I think just about everyone else hates this thing, and I expected to my self, but to my surprise I don't.
And I wouldn't even say it's budget that hurt this thing, but just bad weird decisions.

I found files for a new fusion canon and printed that it more matches the old WFC megatron figure, idk I find it looking better than the normal one it comes with. Besides that this was a surprisingly nice figure in the gamer line the knee peg and small feet are a bit awkward but the rest is nice.
A few people have a problem with the Fusion cannon, I like it just fine, but I get why you might not.

I don't understand why Hasbro would mis-manufacture the knees (since I think the instructions show the knee portions angled in a usable way). It literally took a figure everyone would have loved and made it just okay to me and a sin to everyone else. Agree with this review.
well considering the verdict of this review I feel it's only right to place one of the best quotes from any megatron in the franchise

Got the SS Gamer Edition WFC Megatron figure as a place holder for the inevitable FOC Megatron figure.
-And yeah, I like how fusion cannon look with the long barrel facing forward 3:46 instead of how it officially looks.
I can't claim to like the FOC version of his design. Everything is so silly over big on him. Like his shins are bigger than G1 Megatron's who's torso.
At least we agree that there is a right way to have the fusion Cannon.
4:00 they also screwed this up as well. The elbow is mounted somewhere in the middle of the cannon and NOT on the butt end of it. Also comparing this cannon to the old one is like “you vs the guy she tells you not to worry about” and the old one is “the guy”
Yeah I knew that bit, I don't know why they didn't invert the peg and port for this guy so it could be attached the way it's supposed to.
Like if you are going to do the Dumb Gimmick, do it right.
Is it weird I love megatron as a helicopter but hate hovertanks. In my opinion if megatron becomes a helicopter, his fusion cannon splits into 4 smaller guns that won’t blast the helicopter back 50 feet away on each blast
A hellicopter is a better altmode for him than a Tank.

That makes more sense for sure, though he wouldn't get a ton of use out of that mode dealing with the Autobots.
@@PerspectiveEnd well in my show the leader of the autobots was solus prime at the time, who had an Ariel alt mode so him choosing it made sense, but when he killed her he already found a love for it and decided to keep it even though the autobots only had about two flyers

That's just factually incorrect. They literally project as beams then expand into their full size. They are explicitly meant to be made of lasers.
When the front of a barrel convexes like that, its usually because of something like a Muzzle suppressor or Muzzle break.
whenever i seen this feature on G1 weapon designs i always assumed it was supposed to be something like that.
A gun usually has more to it than just the barrel and the Muzzle Break, and even if that were the case, the game referred to this as a Riot Launcher, so it's a Rocket Launcher, not a Gun, and would not use a muzzle break.
They slim down Grimlock more or less the way you’re suggesting in the Beast Hunters comics actually, so funny coincidence there

I think that figures like this which are not Micro Masterpiece yet still amazing could fall into a fidget category. Not so poseable to the point where it is overwhelming, yet still well-articulated. close enough to the source. And all-around fun.
I just say figures like that are good. Like it doesn't have to be a Micro Masterpiece to be good.

See I don't find them all that creative, they either tend to just look like nothing, or like a regular vehicle without windows. I'd much rather have them have more recognizable modes.

5:08 Apparently that wasn’t a design decision, but a factory mistake.
People have been complaining about this long since before the figure came out, so I don't know much I believe that.
I also hate how basically every cybertroion alt mode is a hover vehcile, Hovertanks, bikes, cars, and freaking trucks , can we just get some wheels and Treads, I like animateds more varried cybertroion alt modes
There are a couple with Defined wheels, but yes the "Everything Hovers because it's space" thing was lame.

The knees are less in the way than you might expect.
Odds are you won't ever see anther one given how old this thing is.

Dammit, the one time I guessed hate it, it turns out I'm wrong.
Also, I have the MP 13 KO with the articulated fingers and not sure what you mean. It's fantastic and has the extra shoulder ratchet I talked about. Though it is a KO so I guess your mileage may vary.
I guess "Mixed" for this one because it has enough deviations for many fans to hate it, but PE despised the High Moon aesthetic to begin with so I thought he might enjoy it more (tho I did not anticipate he'd like it this much).
Every person I've ever talked to about that version of it, told me that all the fingers snapped off the first time they tried to use them, and that all the joints were incredibly loosely tolerance, falling over constantly and breaking parts off.
i will be scared when this guy becomes profitable

I know this probably isn't what anyone else wants out of this guy, but i really wish he was a stark white like the 2012 deluxe. White red and black is a killer color scheme, especially on megatron

4:37 I don’t know about you, but Optimus and Megatron having weapon hands. I’m cool with because Megatron was built for war, and Optimus was built to give Megatron to run for his money so it makes sense that they would be the only ones to have arm weapons
I feel like the Regular Fusion Cannon mounted on his arm is fine.
And it might make sense for Optimus, but while he was always built to fight Megatron, he's never really been known for his in built arsenal. Like yeah he often has it, but it's usually just a mostly normal gun.

No not even close. In the game it's a pale hint of the levels of Characterization he had in the show. Though to be fair that is what makes him fun. This version of the dude is ONLY angry. He has no other emotion than anger.

I so want to play the high moon war for cybertron games. Those along with Devastation are at the top of the my game wish list
Devastation is amazing. The Highmoon games are overrated, where only one level in the Second Game truly comes together the way it's supposed to. Everything else feels like you are playing a Generic Third Person Shooter that just has a Transformers Coat of Paint. Vortex's Level in the second game truly feels like you are playing a game that could exist in no other franchise than transformers and it's amazing.
Great review PerspectiveEnd!! My main gripe with GE Megatron is that he is skinnier then GE Optimus Prime. lol I have always viewed Megatron being taller and more muscular then Prime, so it makes no sense to me when Megatron is smaller. Keep on being amazing.
I don't think that's cannon, though in the first game they didn't run into each other. But Optimus typically was built to Fight Megatron, so it doesn't make sense as to why he'd be smaller.

This happened to me as well, I have the original one. I thought I was going to hate the new one... Once I got it in hand... I liked it! Bought it!

I swear it did. I remember it clearly. I also remember it being a Generic gun anyone could use.
The original figure (Rage over Cybertron 3-Pack version) is my favorite Megatron and its a shame that this figure isnt as good as it shoud, he looks pretty tiny compared to how ridiculously swole and beefy GE Optimus is and it has some proportional issues but now i kinda want to give it a try.
Also, placing the cannon the other way arround makes both modes look so much better, its insane.
I wonder why no one has ever made an upgrade kit where the cannon can extend
