I find it interesting how much sub 20 dollar IEMs have improved after the moondrop chu, but the sub 50 dollar headphone market is still underwhelming. Only a few stand out outside of koss ksc75 (which is not for everyone who dislike clipons or modding).
Notable ones are the shp9500 (harsh treble) when on sale, CAL SE (probably best tonality in this price range but ear cups are on the small side) and Takstar pro 82 (comfy but bass slider is weird, either you get ok sub bass with bloated upper bass or ok upper bass but with a rolled off sub bass) with each having their own quirks, otherwise you have to go for the 100 dollar mark for k361, m40x, jbl tune 710bt or shp9600

It's because most of the "consumer reviews" don't care too much about sound quality, they don't show frequency response graphs or any objective idea.

Great work, nice to see budget closed-back reviews with frequency response.

OneOdio headphones all sound the same. I bought them due to the hype and just like you mentioned, due to poor build quality, the plastic hinges broke and the "leather" earpads wore out. Also, they sounded bassy. Then I made the second mistake of purchasing AKG K92, which was worse as it was unbearable without eq. Finally I bought AKG K361, which is kinda close to harman target.

According to customer reviewers all of studio marketed stuff sounds flat but in reality they're far away from flat.

Holy jeeze that response curve. I guess these headphones are brought to you by the letter "M".

OneOdio is also one of the few widely available brands where I'm from. I only wish I could find something around that price with those features but better sound.

I bought two models two years ago for cheap price as I didn't want to spend much, I returned them within a month and got myself a steelseries headphone which is way morede pricier but brings better build quality and comfort with it. Always spend more for these types of accessories. They'll last you a lifetime if you be careful

Will you please review the Philips SHP9500 or the SHP9600?

Possibly. I used to own the 9500, but I sold them

I've tried the oneodio monitor 80 pro today and I think it's got something going for it, it's definitely not a reference grade tuning but I must say it has some good qualities to it, and isn't that expensive. First of all, it's got real bass, say something you can't really get on a hd560s through eq (i have the hd560s and eq bass in regularly) and it's also got some occasional imaging cues that feel pretty realistic, thanks to their ok layering capabilities. It would be interesting to see a graph of them, I couldn't find any online..

The only interesting set that they have is the monitor 80 open backs imo.

There's better ones out there like the pro 10s in my opinion
