Nate I just stumbled onto this. I am the owner of this bait, bought it from you on the MFM a few years back. I put the correct sized hooks on it and hope to drag it soon. It looks as good as the day you filmed this .
wow i have watched almost all your videos and cant believe i missed this one. UNBELIEVABLE. more content please. i love watching. More the newer style where you talk.
Hello Marling thank you for sharing your extraordinary work. I liked your idea to give a protection coat to the basic colours of the lure, and then apply all details... Are you using the same epoxy that you use with the final coats? or is it a different type? ... Big regards from Peru!!!
Thanks Ed, For swimbait tails I've used Lexan Polycarbonate, dense silicon, and flexible resins. If you have a mold for the tail you want his stuff works well: www.alumilite.com/store/p/966-Flex-70.aspx
Awesome tutorial once again. What setting on your airbrush are you using to paint your Gills and Dorsal fin? I have a hard time painting a "thin" line. Sounds like a high PSI?
Hi I wanna paint one of my brothers lures he made....I don't get second chance to get it right he passed away 2 years ago.....he made 2 lures and I wanna do them right the first time around....can u let me know what primer base you use and the gloss at the end please
Kbs clear coat, if you use acrylic paints and mess up the paint job you can remove with windex easily to start over, once you clear with kbs diamond clear its never coming off
Hey there! I want to ask you something. I read createx colors fluorescent arent good to use at outside enviroment because sunlight could damage fluorescent finish. Idk if its true or not, never tasted but I really need to know it before spend a buch of cash on createx colors. I scared but createx are cheaper than wicked. Maybe you tasted this fluorescent on lures and salt water. Also I read clear coat makes loose fluorescent finish I really apreciatte your help ty very much. Awesome work man!
Thanks! It's pretty essential to use a clear coat that wont react with the paint in any way, and EnviroTex Lite is a well proven one for most paints. I don't think EnviroTex Lite is advertised as being U.V. resistant, but I've clear coated with just about every epoxy I can get my hands on. The paint on baits I used Createx / 3 coats of E-Tex on is still unaffected after 4+ years of fresh water use. To really make sure your fluorescents wont be affected by sun light you might want to pick up a specialty U.V. resistant clear coat tho
First of all I have to congratulate you for your work, your baits looks really cool ;P I have a question, what's the glossy coat you put on the bait (at min 2:01) before painting the details? epoxy resin? why did you do it at this stage?
Thank you! Yeah it's an Epoxy clear coat. I pant between the layers of clear coat on my baits to add depth, and it makes for a super smooth surface to paint on.
Can you make me a bunker fish (Manhaden) swim bait? I would love to fish it out here in NY during this upcoming striped bass season. We get some monsters up here.
Idk how I missed this one but I'm glad I found it. Back to back Marling videos for the win on this rainy day.
Watching through your old videos. The first time you speak on RUclips “where are my scissors?” Hahahaha
I could watch you paint all day! You are very talented!

You own this bait and haven't trolled it for pelagic species of fish? Shame on you!!!!
And so, did you use it???
Have you used it yet?

That is a thing of beauty
Amazing as usual, can I ask what fish will be taking this lure? Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy New Year to you and your family 👍😷👍🏴

Saran Wrap is your friend when covering the bills
was the scissors thing so you could show what is in your shop or something ?
Great Video and work mate! Question, what resin/material do you use at the end to keep the paint protected?
Thanks!www.amazon.com/Environmental-Technology-16-Ounce-Pour--Finish/dp/B000LNS9CW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472244247&sr=8-1&keywords=enviro+tex
So are you covering the lure with epoxy clear casting resin ?
great video thanks
Awesome lures Im thinking about making my self a glide/ swimbait, what would u use for a tail?
Thanks Ed, For swimbait tails I've used Lexan Polycarbonate, dense silicon, and flexible resins. If you have a mold for the tail you want his stuff works well: www.alumilite.com/store/p/966-Flex-70.aspx
Very nice
What do you use to top coat your lures?
Awesome tutorial once again. What setting on your airbrush are you using to paint your Gills and Dorsal fin? I have a hard time painting a "thin" line. Sounds like a high PSI?
Thanks I always have my PSI high, around 60-70, and use slightly thicker paint. Just how I'm use to painting.

Leticia Jaime On some of his other videos he said that he uses EnviroTex Lite for the clear coat, as for the primer use the typical white spray paint.
Kbs clear coat, if you use acrylic paints and mess up the paint job you can remove with windex easily to start over, once you clear with kbs diamond clear its never coming off
Im sorry for your loss, did you paint the lures yet? how did it go?
I have two questions. What material do you use for the bill of the lure and what kind/brand of epoxy do you use
I use Lexan polycarbonate for the bill, and EnviroTex Lite for the clear coat.
what kind of fish would you be able to catch on that? did you make it for a specific type of species?
striped bass
Where do you dry your lures?
How do you buy these??? Love your work

Marling Baits you make very beautiful lure art
Impressive.
Great work mate! What did you put in the epoxy clear coat to get that glitter sparkle at 2:10
Thanks! It's an ultra fine holographic glitter
Hy they also sell such wobblers?
essa tinta que você usa, é esmalte sintético?
VERY GOOD
is this a custom build for someone who ordered it? or did you build it for yourself?
Most of the lures I make videos with are random builds I just feel like making. This one wasn't a custom order, but I did end up selling it.
how long did it take u to paint an make lures that good
I've been making lures for about 5 years now.
First of all I have to congratulate you for your work, your baits looks really cool ;P

got it, thank you ;P and how much time do you wait for the epoxy to cure before painting on it?
Good for big tuna or strip bass
Did you have to make the body or did you buy it?
He literally makes it in this video
amazing
Why does that bait look so small?
Can you make me a bunker fish (Manhaden) swim bait? I would love to fish it out here in NY during this upcoming striped bass season. We get some monsters up here.
I spy with my little eye a RM box ;)
Vor what Fisch do jou make THE lures
Too nice to use
what kind of colour u use?can you sent me to see?a link?
I use Createx paints, every standard color they make: www.tcpglobal.com/CRE-KIT-COMPLETE80.html#.WLR5eG8rKUk
Make a octopus lure if you can!
Honestly this guy should sell baits he makes there so sick
Dayum nice
Too big no? for what types of fish?
I think this one was sent to a Muskie fisherman. It's not too uncommon to troll baits this size on Muskie lakes when trying to catch the big girls.
Marling Baits no its mackerel color i think it is for tuna fishing
Marling Baits that's a good bate for big bsracudas or big kingfish or big hawwo fish or big marlin
Oye amigo si subes el video que sea completo de favor para entenderlo ok saludos
