Loving the brackets and I know you go on the numbers but I'd take a ten yard loss for how accurate that srixon was. I'd love to see the new PXG in the brackets. Also looking forward to the next bracket
I went out and got fitted a month ago for a new set. I wound up going with the Srixon over the Stealth. Primarily because of accuracy. I am in Michigan where we average 600-800 feet elevation and the difference in raw yardage was about 10 yards, so for the price and accuracy difference, the Srixon it was. My irons are Stealth though. I was very surprised too because I have always hit Taylor Made drivers and fairway woods. Shaft is a MCA Tensei AV Blue Link 65 45.5"
Sirxon got screwed. Heavier shorter shaft and had that one major miss hit that wasn’t the drivers fault. I know this is about seeing forgiveness but that miss hit should’ve been a redo I think we all would’ve understood.
Ya I kinda agree. We were trying to figure out what to do. So we took out the sky and Srixon still lost. I think if it won without the sky. We would've had to do OT. Haha ya I'm not sure why Srixon choose to go 70 grams with the x. I was hitting it more consistent though so might have to look into that shaft.
I don’t agree. If you put a heavier shorter shaft in the TM it probably would be significantly more accurate. So it’s really hard to judge. The 1.47 vs 1.45 smash factor tells me the TM probably has a tad more potential. Also - the srixon has a very shallow face. So getting a sky ball isn’t that unrealistic. That’s a design choice by the manufacturer that comes with a performance trade off.
@@mvansb23 he hits that same ball with the TM it’s doing the exact same thing lol. And you put a heavier shorter shaft in the TM it will get more accurate but lose its distance. It only be the Srixon by 1 yard when he removed the sky ball
I believe there should be more emphasis on the forgiveness/accuracy of the drivers. I think you should multiply the distance off line by 2 and then subtract that from the total yards. this would make it more important to straight and in the fairway then a mile up the road but having to take another ball out of your bag.
I just got fitted last night, for context I'm playing to around a 1-2 this season and my numbers are 108-112 mph swing speed, 160-163 mph ball speed and my current driver is a Stealth w/ Tour AD IZ-6 S-flex shaft. The Stealth 2 was my 2nd worst head I hit, the Ping G430 LST was the only one I had worse results with. I ended up buying the Srixon ZX5 MkII LS w/ Ventus Blue TR X-flex shaft. This club wasn't even on my radar, I fully expected to walk out with a TSR4, Paradym, or Stealth 2 Plus.
Great vid! I just found your channel with the Mizuno vs Titleist faceoff and was immediately hooked. As for results, its pretty much what I expected with Stealth 2. I just had my first ever fitting and tried it, and that thing could fly. It had insane distance even on mis-hits. Biggest issue was I had 0 control over where the ball went. Ended up going with last year's Rogue ST Max for the combo of performance and price
I find this interesting, everyone swings different, for me stealth 2 plus came in dead last for me this year. Using same shaft and loft not only was it 20 yards shorter but it was way less accurate than the ZX5 LS. It was 25 yards shorter than Paradym triple diamond and 28 yards shorter than Aerojet LS. I swing at 122 club head speed too, used a Ventus Black 7x shaft for testing.
Not sure how I feel about the Srixon being eliminated the way it did. But I’m sure any RUclips channel can’t be bouncing the taylormade product in the first round 🤭 yes the Taylormade driver is long, but I still think there’s a forgiveness issue for your avg golfer. But I’m taking the low spinning numbers and forgiveness of the Srixon. Oh and not to mention the $100 in savings.
Might be better to alternate 5 with each driver during these head to heads. Takes away warm up bias. You were swinging faster with Taylormade and looked looser also. Just a thought.
That's not a bad idea. I did a full warmup before so i was definitely warm. But I get it. Might try that to see if it messes with my rhythm getting used to a different driver every 5 hits. Thanks for watching and the suggestion. 🍻
I had this thought after the first matchup. Which was also 1 to 1.5 mph difference on swing speed. But the 1/2 inch shaft different could certainly be a full mph. Some heads are also slightly more aerodynamic.
Srixon had an average off center line by only 5' and Stealth had average off center line of 55', an ABSOLUTE NO BRAINER to choose Srixon because it is tough to make pars and birdies from the rough, 55' off center line is huge . Any Pro would choose the Srixon with this data.
Wouldn't Total Dispersion be a better measure of accuracy than Average Dispersion? As an example, a driver that sprays balls equally 80 yards left and right will beat a driver that consistently fades or draws it 10 yards.
You're right. We had to calculate it manually. Rather than letting the left and rights cancel out. We took each drive and looked at how far it was offline. Added them up and divided by the number of drives. As far as having one consistent miss. There's no perfect formula so I let you guys determine what's the best for you. Ie. If a driver is consistently fade bias, and someone that'd slices will want to toss that driver in the 🗑️. I think for the most part, this gives a pretty good indication of which drivers are straighter. Thanks for watching n the comment. 🍻
It will be interesting to see once the Driver test is compete to list them not in a bracket but as a score total and see the list and if its different from the actual bracket test results.
I wonder why the Stealth 2 is getting a bad rep? One thing I notice is that not many non contracted players are using it, its only really Adam Scott who's not under contract that I've seen using a Stealth.
Hey Brandon, of all the drivers you’ve used, which one would you say is the most neutral? TM stuff seems to be kinda fade biased but I don’t want a draw biased head either
it is interesting to compare titanium/titanium with carbon/carbon head/face drivers' durabilityover years. will carbon driver maintain the same performance after 5+ yrs?
They have 2 low spin options and when I hit them side by side I had better results with the ZX5 LS. I have a full srixon driver line up review on my channel if you want to see those numbers side by side.
Why isn’t there a calculation for going if the fairway. It’s far easier to hit from the fairway compared to off the rocks. There should be a factor for going off the fairway. Like rough should be a factor of 10-15% less because your next shot is not going as far and you have to club up. PLUS what about the rocks 😂 good luck even finding it because now your dropping almost for sure. Their needs to be a weight on those variables. Maybe hit 21 balls and drop the worst one. Then add those factors in there.
you should hit 5 shots with Srixon then 5 with Taylormade. It looks like you got faster as you hit more shots and its not quite as fair for the first driver....
I don't like how you're subtracting the avg offline from the avg total distance to get a number to determine the winner. I think that's a very bad way to look at what's better. First, if driver A goes off line on the same angle as driver B, but driver A goes further, well, the yards off line will be more, so by not taking this into account, you are penalizing drivers that go further. Second, in your adjusted results at 13:10 a 350.04 at 27.55 off line is probably in a lot of fairways like a 337.5 yard drive and 16.08 yards off line, but that 12.54 AVERAGE yards more you got from the Stealth 2 Plus is nothing to scoff at, that can easily be a club difference into a green.
Pretty ridiculous and unhelpful to use a different shaft in a comparison. Kind of like using different golfers with completely different swings. If you want to do a head to head comparison, the shafts should be identical. I understand trying to measure stock offerings, but most golfers are trying to determine how driver heads compare.
Unfortunately if you went to the majority of golf stores to hit these drivers head to head, you’ll be using the same shafts I was given. We were at the mercy of their stock options because of the driver tip adapters. Until golf companies move to a universal adapter our hands are tied with their stock options.
@@NewNineGolf Totally get it, but the comparison is published as a "head" comparison, which would have identical shaft if it was to be accurate. I appreciate the video, but think that using different shafts is misleading in a "head to head".
The term head to head is used to describe a battle, confrontation or versus. In sports ie Mia Heat are going to head to head with Denver Nuggets tomorrow night. Wasn't using it in the literal sense. Sorry for the confusion. 🍻

Thank you for going out of your way to get the Wilson in the bracket.
👊🏻
You had a heavier 70gm shaft, so more control on the ZX5. But Stealth is a ball speed monster and fun to hit.
Also the half inch length made it more consistent as well. Clear trade-off between the dispersion and the distance on the length of shaft

Technically it’s not in a head to head but we just filmed a fitting for it so we will include it at the end of the bracket ranking all the drivers.
