Great work on the setup, I wish I had the space in my garage. I’m only 5’7” but only have 8 foot ceilings in my 1 car garage. I’m putting an impact screen in but it will be Irons only until we build our new garage. Without gopro I would rather have mlm2pro or even Square. You have done the hard part though and now you can easily switch between any launch monitor you want. It seems like Garmin R10 really catapulted the accuracy and progression of inexpensive launch monitors. Great work on your setup!
Not having GSPro makes this a real bad option IMO. a thousand plus courses for $250/year after spending 10k+ is a non brainer. But optishot not having access just feels terrible. Love that you got a sponsor to do this but I really believe going with a different launch monitor brand but same basic setup seems like a much better option.
I'm sorry as a fellow calgarian I don't want to be a downer but not having GSPro is a huge miss to me. P.s. the room is soooo sick you guys did an amazing job! It looks like a million dollar setup
No you're good. Thanks! Appreciate the support. My buddies have GSpro and I've been asking Optishot to open it up so I can use it. They dont charge a subscription so they want to build up that community. I do enjoy the software though and for some people, its probably all they need. Its very simple and easy to use. I'll be testing other units out for club testing and others that are compatible with GSpro. So many choices these days which is not a bad thing. 🍻
Absolutely amazing. I live in South Korea and only play simulator golf here ( a proper round of golf is insanely expensive). That being said, I LOVE your simulator and wish i can have my own someday. FYI, I bought my driver (Aerojet LS) because of your reviews, and I LOVE IT!!! Keep up the good work!
Hi Brandon, I have had their older setup, Ballflight, for about a year and a half. You're spot on with your takes on distance, spin, and other critiques. You and I have played against each other many times. These are always good matches. You usually get me. I live in Colorado, so I really notice altitude quite a bit. I play courses at up to 10,000 feet in elevation. I find that the 1500 setting is probably the closest to 5280 feet. However, I find the 2000 setting to be the most fun to feel like a heavy hitter. I'd like to chat with you offline sometime. I will invite you to a game. The title will be my phone. Give me a call.
Good question! Yes, OptiShot sent me the unit for free, and I’m super thankful for that. But honestly, I wouldn’t share it with you guys if I didn’t think it was worth talking about. My goal is always to give you my real opinions-good or bad-so you can decide if it’s right for you. Free or not, I take that responsibility seriously because I know you trust me to be honest.
@NewNineGolf that's awesome and well deserved. I'm newer to your channel but really enjoy the authenticity and your videos really land well. Keep up the hard work!
Do you have to use TP5/TP5x because of something specific to those balls besides the pix? Like, would Chrome Tour tru tacks work, since they have the same "pix" concept?
I tried to highlight the pros and cons and do an in depth review of the software. If there is something specific you’d like to know or feel I left something out, I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have.
I'm in a bunch of simulator groups and forums and I'm just trying to answer questions that come up all the time. What computer to get, what lights, heater, foam, tv, projector, flooring etc. And obviously I want to show the gameplay. Not sure how else to do it.
@@NewNineGolf Sorry, I just don't like the fact you didn't mention right away the Optishot galaxy (bundle?) was offer for free and offer some promotional rebates right away doesn't feel like it's something you would have chosen if it was your money. I understand the rest of your house built and your choices. Nice setup. Should have open with something more strait froward like "I have been looking to buy a sim golf simulator for a long time and Optishot offered me their to show you guys".
@@rotnam I understand what you mean. For what its worth, I actually have other units coming (trying to get as many as I can) as well to do some comparison testing. Its kind of like me testing clubs. But I did make a pretty big commitment so far putting this in there and I wouldn't have done that if I didnt actually enjoy it. I tried to give the pros and cons as best as I could. Thanks for watching and the feedback.
I actually had one in here at first and took it out. The bouncing sounds louder with the microphones. Usually have music going too so for me, not a big deal.
If you’re going to spend upwards of 7 grand on an overhead unit, why didn’t you go with a better unit in the Protee VX? From what I’ve seen this optishot doesn’t have features the Protee VX does. Like impact camera and location technologies… not saying that’s better, but for spending that much and not having similar capabilities as the Protee VX, I find you did yourself a disservice… this is the first time hearing or seeing the optishot overhead unit. My neighbor has that mat one, not a fan of that at all lol. Your setup looks really dope, personally I would’ve went with the Protee VX…🤷🏽♂️
Ive heard good things about the Protee VX..trying to get a unit to test and review too. Ya the mat one sucks. Lol. This overhead unit is good tho and I didn't know about it till recently. It's my first go at a golf sim. The software is pretty simple and easy to use. Good for alot of people. I can tell you the gameplay is better than the foresight software. I do wish it hooked up to GSPro. It's good we have alot of options these days.
@@NewNineGolf I think you can’t go wrong with any new overhead unit from Protee, Uneekor, Trackman, or Trugolf . I have the Uneekor QED which also needs marked balls which kind of sucks but there are people who sell vinyl dots that you can add to whatever ball you use on course and they work great. Love the channel man, keep up the great work. The on course stuff is great to watch
@@NewNineGolf roger that. There’s so many options to choose from. I started with the Garmin R10, then upgraded to Skytrak+, and going to upgrade again to the Protee VX. I’m a huge mark for the side garage mount! I need to do that to my garage as well but they wanted more than the quote you got so I didn’t buy one yet. Going to see if other companies will do it for less than my original 3 grand quotes.🤦🏽♂️
Just to clarify, Optishot is not sponsoring this video. They did provide the unit for me to test and review, as well as a special promotion for my audience that’s better than anything currently offered on their website. However, they are not paying me to say anything. The fact that the unit was provided for testing does not influence my review-I’ve shared my honest experience without embellishing or withholding any information. If you have specific questions about their product, feel free to ask, and I’ll be happy to share insights based on my experience.
Wow great setup!!! And I'm so glad that you like my tees. Have fun using them in your new Home Golf Simulator.
Thanks Mario. 🍻
No Gspro would definitely be a no go for me...
right??
What a great setup, thank you for the in depth explanation

Great setup! I’d have to add some landing pads to not only have a softer hit on the ground but also funnel the ball back to me.
Thanks! I have the same issue. My garage is sloped so maybe have to build a platform or something.
That was great thanks for doing it for us 🎉

Software is from 2006?
I really need to win the lottery! 😂 Great setup, have fun!

Tie a string or light fishing line to the tees, then tie the string to a small weight on your mat. Your tees will never get lost again.

This video felt like a 22 minutes ad for optishot.

Pretty much, stay away from optishot
Great looking set up 🎉
Thank you 🍻
Gotta get rid of that Optishot soon man. You probably already know that though
I just put a foresight in there to play around and the Optishot game play is just as fun with as good graphics tbh
great setup, now i just need a house hahha. rip vancouver pricing
This is me nitpicking but can you make the screen more taut? Regardless this is an amazing setup, I’m supes jelly.
Yes you can. The tighter it gets the more recoil there is. This was the happy medium I found
19:50 we gunna talk about the Billy Madison clip? Lol
69! Haha
You’re definitely going to want to put another mat in front of the screen for the bouncing ball noise (69 yards lol) 🤘🤘
I actually had one in here at first and took it out. The bouncing sounds louder with the microphones. Usually have music going too so for me, not a big deal.
Better off getting a Garmin R50 and and joining a country club
Any tips on golfing in the snow?

I wish my ceiling was high enough :(
now get on to gspro and you will never go back lmao
Dude, the creases in screen make everything look lik crap!
$10,000 and you can't manage a tight screen?
Still playing around with the tightness of the screen, the tighter it got the more recoil it gave the ball. Still trying to find the sweet spot
You need to explciitly state that they are sponsoring you for this video. You get paid when they make a sale so your review can in no way be unbiased.

Were you expecting higher or lower?
