    As a Srixon staffer, it’s awesome to see such a well respected channel and group of lads give high praise to this brand. They really stepped it up this year with the drivers and should be in the conversation now. Signing Brooks and him playing the TaylorMade driver really put the pressure on the engineers to create a truly great product

    Just put the ZX5 MKII LS in the bag this past weekend and it's amazingly accurate and packs a ton of forgiveness off-center. I only missed 2 fairways all day and those were just barely off the fairway, so not penalizing at all. Coming from a Stealth driver it definitely has a very different sound. I typically hit a draw with all of my clubs and my miss with the driver is to peel it too far left with very low spin. In the stock setting I've found the ZX5 LS to be subtly fade biased but the launch and spin were spot on. I was hitting easy controlled baby fades all day on the course with insane predictability. Time will tell but if I can take out the left side of the fairway then this driver is going to be a weapon. Initially I don't know if the dead center strikes are as long as the Stealth (it's winter golf so hard to judge) but I'll take a couple less yards for significant accuracy and control improvements every single day.

    Just put the ZX7 MK2 in the bag this week. Atleast for me I felt the face was abit more responsive/softer if that makes sense? Acoustically the sound seemed better to me, though that could be due to me finding it easier to square up the face at impact with its shape. For those interested WITB below.

    Hi guys, could you please give me a definitive answer to how lofting down a driver actually works. My understanding is taking 1.5 degrees of loft off doesn't change the loft itself but instead opens the face. Its then left to the golfer to turn the clubface back square which in turn then de-lofts the driver 1.5 degrees. No one ever seems to tell you to do that but it's what i once read and it makes perfect sense to me? Many thanks

  • @drewgwins6073
    @drewgwins6073 Год назад

    I noticed that nearly every swing had the toe of the driver higher than the heel. While lie angle doesn't matter very much for a driver, do you think that golf companies haven't remembered to change the lie angle of their drivers as shafts have gotten longer?

    Excellent review. Question though, how does the weights positioning result in such a drastic change to the dynamic loft? There was only 0.5-1 degrees of loft difference in the club and I'm fairly sure the delivery from Ian wouldn't very by such a large percentage?

    • @EdReed20DB
      @EdReed20DB Год назад +3

      If you're looking at the weight in the front vs the back, it'll change the amount of lead deflection at impact. With the weight(centre of gravity) farther back, the shaft will be in more lead deflection at impact, which will add dynamic loft. The CG attempts to align with the shaft during the swing, so the farther away the CG is statically, the more the shaft moves at impact.
