    I like how it disconnects the battery at 10:30 to prevent further damage to the HV battery and then tries to conserve 12 volt power by dimming the screen and shutting off other things (as shown by the OBD dongle). It shows how this is a designed and controlled scenario.

    With my Model S85 years ago I tried to be cool and planned to arrive at the SuC Senlis (France, our way to Paris) with 3%. Stupid me chose the wrong toll lane exit, my GF gave me the look because she told me that i am wrong. "Naah, we areOK" So, wrong exit, had to go 30km loop, then stupid me took another wrong exit, I just ignored the nav. So another 3km detour. GF gave me the look again :-( But we made it to the SuC with no problem. Never ran out of juice in 8 years EVs and 270tkm total. Even tough I tried ;-)

      I arrived on a trip to Germany with 1% at the SuC because I was driving too fast on the Autobahn, to my surprise even at 2% I didn't get any power reduction dots on the display. I floored it when I saw the chargers and it felt like no power reduction. It dropped to 1% then (and my wife gave me also that look :o) Anyway, still don't know why and how that happened but it was a magical thing. Now I aim for 5% just to keep it on the safe side as I'm also good at taking wrong exits

    LFP Battery: Hi Björn, thank you for the video. Could you please repeat it with a LFP battery and high energy buffer. My M3 sometimes has an energy buffer over 6 kwh. I then leave it under 10% or fully charged for a while ("deep sleep") so that the energy buffer goes back to its normal 2.4 kwh. But it would be very interesting to know whether the high energy buffer can be used. I think the buffer is created by spending longer periods of time in 20-80% SOC. Charging to 100% and driving off immediately does not reset the energy buffer. Thank you and all the best for you and your family.

    • @davids.6671
      @davids.6671 Год назад +1

      This depends. Because the BMS didn't know the exact spot on the charging curve. The gradient is steep at end and beginning of the curve in the middle it builds up a uncertainty. This is accounted in the buffer. So long story short in one case where you don't need the 6 kWh they are there but on the other case where you need them hardly, they are gone.

    Can you do the test with the Volvo C40 single motor?

    Asphalt is hot. When you put Ecoflow on the hot asphalt, it gets hotter. Shoult try to put it in the gras, 1 meter away, on the right side of the road, on shadow of the car, not in direct sunlight.

    This could also be useful if you loose the 12V battery in the car and have to charge that one up. I just bought similar one to be able to use a 220V tool with a type2 station :) .. vacuum cleaner
    and impact wrench at the car.

    To rapidly cool down the ecoflow you could put it somewhere where the ac will blow in the direction of the fans. That should make it a lot faster

    One importante thing Bjorn that should be shared: Some EV's came with a 16 amp charger without any possible manual configuration. This will trip the solar generator and if you are not able to control the current on the car (not on teslas, since you can do it on the charging menu) you won't be able to charge.

      The ecoflow will send the maximum it can, no matter if the car asks for more.

      I don't think many came with a standard socket and 16A. Continuous 16A is a fire hazard. I never saw anyone coming with more than 13A.
