- The young girl is seen paddling on Perranporth Beach (pictured), Cornwall, with water gently lapping at her ankles. But seconds later a sudden surge of tide rushes in and knocks the girl - who is thought to be aged around six - off her feet. Two adults with her rushed to help and managed to catch the floating child before she was dragged out to sea. Passer-by Raila Langhelle, 47, captured the dramatic three-minute clip as she enjoyed a walk on the beach yesterday.

The water looked dangerous from the begging of the video so why on earth would these stupid people put their kid into such a dangerous situation like that. Stupidity at its best.
the same reason they keep drink coca cola with diabetis and use fantanoil
Teach them a lesson.
What sort of idiot takes their small child into this washing machine of death ????
Some people really don't have any sort of awareness of beach safety. They just picture happy, fun, playful beach holidays.
@@nothanks1239yea but you think there would be signs posted down there.. like great big signs to educate those who are uninformed how dangerous the ocean could get when the tides roll through.
There probably are signs but people probably just don't pay attention to them or just ignore them thinking something devastating could never happen to them.
@@roger25lll66 Even with all the warnings, some people really struggle to read the ocean. That wave came out of nowhere.
I'm just glad everyone was OK.
People who have not grown up on the coast do not realise the danger. They dont notice that the tide is coming in and that the overall reach of the wave sets is increasing. They feel personally able to withstand the drag of the waves, and dont take into account that a little child will be swept off its feet by a surge that an adult can readily handle; the child is lighter, and the surge hits at a higher point on the child's body.
Even holding onto a child's hand is not enough to save them when a surge hits. A child's hand is too small to allow for enough surface grip. I have seen a walking child wrenched from its parent's hand by the undertow of a wave when the family ,unaware that their child was in danger, were just strolling along the water's edge.
This family was very lucky
When the ocean is rough like this stay off the beach but also never turn you’re back on the ocean.
If there's water flowing behind you at the beach it's time to leave real quick
I see that kind of water every one in a while. Almost got swept by one when I was 7. I always look for signs of a riptide before I relax.
Don't tell me what to do.
People do not realize how strong the ocean waters are swimming or standing in it.
As a kid I came very close to drowning because I did not know the undertow placed me way out past the “ I can touch”. I was just one underwater away from drowning that day. Thank goodness for the man who grabbed me in time. To this day I do not go pass my knees.
People try to take their children down to our beach during storms. Once, I was beach combing and a sneaker came up to my chest. I was able to stay put, but it was scary. It was a gentle sneaker. Then, about ten minutes later a man tried to bring his family down to beach comb, and I had to turn them away. People don't realize how the ocean is. These sneaker waves are real.
Are people stupid? Answer: Yes.
Not me, I'm not human.
People treat the ocean as if they are at the lake, and sometimes pay with their lives.
The person recording knew what was going to happen and didn't warn them. That's why they were filming them in that specific moment, and did absolutely nothing. Shame on them.
Why? Not their job.
There's parents for that. Shame on the careless parents.
@@hectorcorpus230 The tide came out of nowhere. This wasn't a case of irresponsible parents; the beach was seemingly safe. Only locals would have expected that sort of tide.
@@hectorcorpus230 So if you had the chance to save a life you wouldn’t?
The woman recording seems to be initially focussed on filming the whirlpool, and not the people. She may not be a local, and therefore she may not have forseen the problem. Also, she may not be able to swim, or may be a weak swimmer. Multiple drownings have occurred when weak swimmers have thrown themselves in to save another person in trouble, it is all too common in my country Australia. Whole families have drowned trying to save one family member.
WATER IS VERY VERY POWERFUL
Help:no
Record:yes
nah, most people wouldn't risk their lives for someone else's kid that far out from shore. your kid, your stupidity, your problem.
People planning on having kids should have to take an intelligence test.
any ADULTS on the beach?
Darwinism at its finest
Trueeeee
That’s place looks safe for a child
Unfortunate
Ignorance is deadly
Damn it creates a whirlpool
I'm so glad someone neglected to help but at least got this filmed 😮
Solid parenting
stop filming verticallly
Sneaker wave -sneaker wave- sneaker wave!
