I want to thank you for posting this. I've had a hard time finding resources the past few months for things like applying or painting a prosthetic. And now that it's three am and I have an appliance to patch the fact this even exists is incredibly helpful. Sometimes finding tutorials is hit or miss. They either exist or they don't. So I'm just really glad this exists.
If you coat your brush with a little Dawn dish soap before your repairs it will keep the latex from drying on your brush! That's a great mask, it reminds me of a character that would be in an old Heavy Metal magazine back in the early 80's.
Thank you so much!! This is the video that I needed. I'm putting together a Xenomorph, which is made with latex, and I need to see how someone did the cleaning and patching. :D

I dremeled the eyes on the new tots Myers mask as when I received it. They hadn't cut them out properly and was way too small. But the dremel has pulled quite a bit of paint off. Any idea what I can use to clean the original paint off completely??
Hey Simon, I have a latex Michael Myers mask , today I notice that it sticks to each other is there a way to fix that or do you think is a goner? , someone suggested soap and water which I did , but it still sticks to each other
I used 3 for this one and it seems to hold it's shape nicely. I might try 4 with the next casting but I'm going to give this a few days to cure before I decide on that.
@@leewright9626 should work. You may want to add an small about of mesh or thin fabric to the inside area as well if it's very thin or starting to crack or rip

my Dremel always pulls and almost yanks the mask out of my hands, no matter what bit I use
do you clean your mask with solvents before painting?

DRAGOIV 80 powder it with talcum or baby powder. This should keep the latex from sticking to itself
How many layers of latex did that take...thanks Simon

Yep it was boring watching the repeat thing, I mean if it was a shorter video and better lighting at times, it would be a better video.
