Thanks for the info, I've been using latex to patch pinholes and it works (half the time)! So frustrating when you think you've patched something only to pull it right back out with the dremel! I'm ordering the Pros-aid and Cabosil ASAP! I've seen the finished versions of this mask with the different tattoo designs, it's freaking phenomenal!
Yes you can patch seams or holes in foam latex with it. Not sure about rebuilding though it’s the consistency of peanut butter so it’d be difficult to “sculpt” with.
By the way, can't you use latex instead of cab-o-patch? I'm afraid of making cabo because of the cabosil, and breathing it in, and it's not too cheap. I just don't know if it's a must have for repairing masks if latex is already at disposal. Does it hold better? I've heard latex bonds well to itself if you use wet citric acid on it beforehand.
You can certainly use latex instead of Cabo-patch, lots of artists do. I only prefer Cabo because it’s what I first learned and became familiar with it. Latex works fine though 👍🏻
I don’t know anywhere that sells Cabopatch already made. I got the Prosaide and Cabosil separately on Amazon and mixed them together myself. Unfortunately it’s a little expensive.
@@laughingghoststudios9988 what was the cabosil you got off Amazon and what was the prosaide that you got with it in currently trying to find good ones on Amazon right now

Thank you I appreciate that! Good luck with your patching 👍
Very Cool!!
Awesome!!
Can you use this to patch foam latex puppets and in some instances rebuild out small details? For example a small fingernail claw?

My Dremel keeps tearing the mask out of my hands
That might be from digging in a bit too hard. Try skimming the surface more gently, barely touching it. That way the Dremel can’t grab onto the latex.
@@laughingghoststudios9988I slowed down the speed to the slowest setting and it's not trying to fling it out of my hands now
troy mccombs Good! It also helps if you have a nice thick casting. The Dremel can’t grab ahold as much if it’s thick latex.
