Zap was the original Queen of the Joust and she proved it in this episode. I imagine both contenders had a ringing in their ears after those backhand shots with the pugil stick.
Technically, this is the 7th Gladiator Match-Up, especially when you notice Turbo & Gold in this “2nd half preliminarily”, and no Tower or Storm, until later.
In which episode did Turbo hyperextend his knee during Powerball? And was Gold (Tonya Knight) injured or did she miss time because of a bodybuilding competition? And I'm aware Lace was out most of the 3rd season due to injury.
I'm sorry but Mike Adamle's commentary on Angela's injury is hilariously robotic. First his "oh and she landed hard!" and then his matter-of-fact "A.J. over the first wall....Angela wincing in pain".
Gemini lost to the following contenders in the Joust during his Gladiator career... Craig Williams in the very first episode, in the very first Joust, by Disqualification Billy Wirth in the second quarterfinals of Season 1, First Half (in fact, Billy was the first contender to knock Gemini off the platform) Elden Kidd in all four times they faced each other Rico Constantino in the First Half Semifinals of Season 2 And Robert Bender in this episode.
Warning- The gladiators and contestants are highly trained athletes and have a lifetime of experience, but they are not invincible. Bodies have been broken, necks broken, concussions inflicted, and careers ended in an instant. Although it is entertainment, the hazards are real, and the contestants and gladiators take real risks, endure unimaginable pain, and put their bodies, their careers, and their lives on the line. Don't risk yours! Be Smart! Be Safe! PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME, SCHOOL OR ANYWHERE ELSE!!!
For all the Gladiators' bravado, you can tell they're really nice people. Gemini carrying Angela off of the field at the end is just further proof.
I thought that part was very touching. And the way everybody is always congratulating and supporting each other, showing good sportsmanship.
I loved this show so much growing up…I STILL love it today lol!
Amazing, thanks American Gladiators!
Yo Zap's technique on Joust is legendary - basically Balrog's charge punch from SF2 😂😂😂
Zap rang some bells in the Joust this episode.
That's some good sportsmanship right there in the women's eliminator.

This was the best AG lineup
I love this show! Keep it up with these uploads!
Both Kevin Cleary and Robert Bender were fantastic in Both the Maze and the Wall.
Man, Laser was in almost Every Event this episode.
Guess that’s why he was probably the Greatest American Gladiator of them all.
Gemini was always my favourite Gladiator. What a gentleman to carry off Angela.
12:00 Well, look at that. Laser took down the "Batman" in just 19 seconds. Nice try, Rob.
That eliminator injury was so scary as that could have been bad for both contenders. Gemini was there to really help out in that cause.
That’s real sportsmanship.
A.J. Perling showed great sportmanship for Angela Shepard's injury.
Agreed! You never like to see anyone get hurt
My favorite season.
4:20 Shutout in the Men’s Powerball event. Well done, Gemini, Laser and Turbo. Nice try, Rob & Kevin.
13:21 Second shutout! All thanks to Laser.
Don't forget Turbo and Gemini. Every gladiator did their part.
Laser definitely my favorite Gladiator!!!
Ah, so it is Angela Shepard that got injured in the Eliminator on the zipline. I forgot about this one.
Get ready for round 2 next on the 3rd season of the American Gladiators!

Wow! Gemini Got Busted in Joust at 16:09 😎
The "Batman" did it in just five seconds! Unreal!
Blaze never got her due on The Wall. That had to be one of the fastest endings in women's history. She was nearly flawless on this event.

@@Jason_Maier16 this season
15:30 Gemini should have been disqualified because he grabbed the contender's pugil stick, but such is life i guess.
Funnily enough, in Gemini's very first Joust, he lost by disqualification when he took his hand off his giant Q-tip.
Call me crazy, but the American Gladiators should’ve had their own Saturday morning cartoon show, with Hanna-Barbera producing the series.
AJ was a sweetheart
AJ showed great sportsmanship when Angela got hurt. Even rushing to her side.
I wanted to beat Ice up the wall
They maybe heavy but they’re also humble right on Gemini
This show went hard.
I'm sorry but Mike Adamle's commentary on Angela's injury is hilariously robotic. First his "oh and she landed hard!" and then his matter-of-fact "A.J. over the first wall....Angela wincing in pain".
Angela Shepard would return in season 6 as part of the LAPD vs NYPD special.
Kevin Cleary sadly passed away on 9-11
Was he working at the world trade center
No he didn't. He's alive and well, even today.
Gemini rarely lost in joust
Gemini lost to the following contenders in the Joust during his Gladiator career...
Craig Williams in the very first episode, in the very first Joust, by Disqualification
Billy Wirth in the second quarterfinals of Season 1, First Half (in fact, Billy was the first contender to knock Gemini off the platform)
Elden Kidd in all four times they faced each other
Rico Constantino in the First Half Semifinals of Season 2
And Robert Bender in this episode.
I have heard that Rico and Gemini knew each other and it was Gemini who encouraged Rico to try out.
This was in fact, Gemini's final defeat in Joust. Happened early in the taping of the season, and he never let it happen again.
RIP Kevin Cleary
What happened?
He's alive
Zap's costume is the only one with a navel cover. So flaccid.
Classic
