I always picked more all-around machine here. Many targets in this mission & F-177 has a poor payload + it's not a great dogfighter & there are few Yellows to shoot down here as well.
Mission needed a fail condition for hitting too many civilian buildings. Enemy tanks liked to hug next to them, that is why some missiles just failed to connect, you were hitting an apartment building. Should have also had requirements for not using missiles on enemies on highway bridges. You need that infrastructure intact.

I gave them hope. I gave them courage to liberate the city. I made sure they saw me.

The physics in AC4 was better compared to AC5 but you don't get your own squadron to command... I miss the landing and rearming parts... you don't have to worry about running out of ammo. :(
Well, in Ace Combat 5 you still never have to worry anout ammos for as long as you don't try to be an "one man army" lol. You have wingmen with unlimited health anf ammo at your disposal! Use em!
I use the S 37A for this one. I use bombs first to clear the clustered vehicles and the airport facilities, and then return to base to get QAAMs and take down as many Yellows as I can
Of course, for twelve of those missions they couldn't hit San Salvacion due to Stonehenge. By the time they finally take Farbanti two missions later, the entire war had been going on for a year.

When I played this misson for the first time, I could only think on how chaotic San Salvacion was at that morning...
I always flew this with the F-117...so Desert Storm-ish :D
When i first started playing i always flew Mission 16 with the F-117 but anything else is just easier.
Back in 2002, I played the Escort level with the F-117.

The level reminds me more of 1999's Operation Allied Force. Coincidentally an F-117 got shot down during it.

Actual city liberation takes days or sometimes even weeks, not 15 minutes.
