DJI FPV DRONE | First Flight in Acro/Manual Mode

    This flight was performed with a visual observer by the name of Nan McClain, whom I should have included in the video footage. If you post First Person View (FPV) videos on the internet, I encourage you to include your visual observer in the some the footage as proof of sufficient Visual Line of Sight (VLOS).
    After spending 1.5 years in the Liftoff simulator, there was no reason not to take the leap of faith and try REAL FPV in acro/manual mode for the first time. My good friend Mike was so generous to lend me his DJI FPV to put to the test. After getting past the initial anxious nerves, I quickly understood how important my time in the simulator payed off because the drone flew like a champ, and no crashes on the first flight! If you are interested in seeing more of this content, stay tuned!

    Never flew a drone before, started with the dji fpv in "n" mode first day I received it with no flight simulator. Haven't crashed yet thankfully. I'm about a week in and flying in "s"mode this drone is fantastic to learn on. I recently adjusted the throttle tension spring manual mode coming soon!

    • @jollytime0811
      @jollytime0811  2 года назад +2

      I highly recommend getting into the simulator before you try manual mode. If you adjusted the throttle tension to remove the spring, be careful when you are descending in normal mode. If you leave the throttle below the 0 point, the drone will keep coming down and if you are not paying attention, could end up somewhere where you don't want it. However, removing that tension for manual mode is necessary as your fingers will be much more relaxed on the throttle and you won't have to fight that resistance constantly. Finger fatigue is a really thing!

    • @jollytime0811
      @jollytime0811  2 года назад

      Forward movement will be a combination of throttle (up and down on left stick) and pitch (up and down on right stick), and finding the right balance between two for control and your intended speed. I would recommend lowering your gimbal camera angle to around 15 degrees as a beginner. You'll be able to go slower and work on your control without having to overcompensate with stick inputs.

Once you know your going to commit, I would get an FPV controller as that's going to give you as close to real life experience as possible.
