Those little bits of wire in the the butane jet lighters are usually a ball of copper or another type of metal put there for novelty reasons to change the flame colour (notice the green flame). Its not to aid in lighting your cigarette and isn't ceramic or glass.
Tims smile at the end of the videos always makes me give them a like. : )

Actually that does make sense to me, in a windy scenario you might be able to cover the flame to heat it up easier both hand than to try and cover the flame with one hand while you light it. If that makes sense...
Tim is basically is the king of toy collecting. I like the toys he shows, and how he describes them. I also love his personality. One of my favorite videos of him was the fish toys.😊

Coolest lighter I’ve ever seen was a homemade lighter from a 50 cal bullet. It was made during World War Two in a fabrication shop on a battleship. My history teacher brought it in with a few swords and knives. Pretty cool!
