I'm so glad that people like you do what you do. Thank you.
This channel is singlehandedly making me start my own collection. As a mechanic I love the different mechanisms used. I got a Beattie Jet lighter off ebay and now im hooked. The Colibri kickstart is definitely on my list now...
I am thrilled to read that you enjoy discovering lighters as me sharing the flame 🔥 Keep looking for that Colibri, I'm sure you can find one with soke luck 😊
This is such a small yet beautiful niche. I love how each lighter works. Things like this makes me appreciate the small things in life even more. Keep on keeping on. Your great, good man.
@@histoireduneflamme1988I’ve got around 50 vintage lighters in my collection so far from about 1930 to around 1960, where do you find yours? My go to is antique stores generally. Been debating going on eBay for a wider selection
I have great admiration for the engineers that make all those instant flame lighters in seemingly infinite configurations . They give the user great satisfaction of owning and using them reliably .
@@histoireduneflamme1988 your video means a lot for me who collect few cheap antique lighter, and if I may ask what's your favorite in collection and what's your ultimate grail lighter?
I was about to add a simple comment: 'Sublime'. Then at 4:50 I saw the 'IFA' and I was transported back to the early 1970s in the UK - I had, what must have been a copy of, one of those lighters. I loved it! They suddenly became very popular and were known as WW1 Trench Lighters. It was said that the originals were made from bullet shells. I haven't seen one like it, or given it a thought for about 50 years! And in an instant the memory of it came back and I was 'transported back in time. This collection of lighters is simply sublime! Thank you for sharing.
For this type of content, to which I had zero clue I clearly needed in my life, your videography is perfect. You hold everything long enough perfectly so that you can actually see and enjoy the content. Amazing stuff and wow those lighters are amazing. The pocket watch style one was my favorite.
I watched this with my jaw dropped the whole time for real… I find this sooooo cool. Makes me wanna start collecting some myself even tho I dont smoke anymore other than bongs lol.. please make more vids and talk and explain the lighters, I bet you have so much knowledge on all of these and that would be great to hear along with seeing the presentation and demonstration.
I don't really do anything with lighters but seeing the old designs and even the cute Japanese camera lighter kinda make me appreciate them. They're so beautiful.
Brother I found your channel a few weeks ago and I'm hooked. I love knife collecting and I don't smoke but I find these lighters fascinating. I'm anxious to start collecting but so unsure where to start. So far from watching these and looking online I love the Kickstart and the Thorens single and double claw are my favorite. Your videos are so well done and your passion obvious for this hobby
Absolutely lovely collection of lighters and choice of music! I've been watching your shorts for a bit, but I'm really interested to see the whole collection in longer form.
I accidentally stumbled onto your channel through my feed and now I am hooked on vintage lighters! Looking to start my own collection. Love those old lighters! 🔥😍
i love lighters and i don’t even smoke. fire is just fascinating to me and a lighter is a way to capture that beauty in your pocket and take it wherever you go.
This fixed my attention span.. I was doom scrolling on yt shorts and I found your video and clicked on the link to see the full video. I love all of these lighters!
OMG.... I LOVE THIS!!!! My Favorites Were The Japanese Ones!!!! My Grandfather Had This Lighter With A Dragon On It. He Said He Had Gotten It From Japan When He Was Stationed There. Sadly All His Stuff Was Abandoned By My Aunt Who Stole His Home From Him When He Got Alzheimers And The Courts Kept Playing Games Till He Died. Ill Hate Her Forever For What She Did. Not Only Did She Cause His Uniform, Metals And His Gun He Kept From The War To Be Lost.... But She Also Caused His Pipe And Lighter He Cherished To Be Lost. I Hope The Fates Somehow Make It Find Its Way To You Though. It Was A Beautiful Piece And I Think It Deserves To Be Added To A Museum Of Lighters. Keep Collecting, I Will Definitely Be Back To Watch More!!
Beautiful pieces of art, love to see them. As a kid I remember there were many different petrol and gas lighters. some of them were really impressive and we used to play alot with lighter petrol, it was cheap and accessible. Some people, in order to be more respectful and presentable, used to carry lighters, not matches. Unfortunatelly now we become more directed to functionality, usability and low cost. These have made beatiful lighters to become history. Now you can only buy those as second hand goods.
This makes me miss carrying a zippo. I quit smoking years ago so I have no need for a lighter, but there is just something satisfying in the old metal lighters.
Can you imagine at those times everyone walking around with these pieces of art? :O Nowadays you rarely see a lighter like this and slowly people dont even use bic or zippo.. everywhere you see chinese cheap that they brake after a year .. sad story of modern day. I love your channel and ur collection as a collector of old coins myself i salute you brother !
Let us know when you open the lighter museum (if you ever do) because I would pay a lot to see them all in real life. Plus, you inspire me to start collecting on my own.
What a wonderful video! I just stumbled onto your channel. I subscribed. I’m looking forward to watching your other videos. I am a new pipe smoker, and have been fascinated by the vast amount of lighters and tampers. You have a blessed week, my friend.
Look at that..., seems like in that times the things not only functional working as mechanism..thats why the old things from the past mostly collectible.
I'd like to see you refill the compact some time. The design of the Fackel is simple but I like the pull out mechanism and the fact it looks like a burning screw. The Gulf is so satifying to look at and light. No clue if that ship is significant but nice art regardless. The camera lighter is so goofy but unique no surprise that Japan made it 😂 Meanwhile the Baccy Lite is elegant and the telewick is so neat! The Fackle, Baccy Lite, and Gulf are my top 3 for sure!
Honestly, I watched some of your vids and fiddling with the lighters seems satisfying. So I picked up a beat-up Ronson Capri and a Braniff Airways lighter from the 60s from a flea market to fidget with. Fixed em up, got em working… And now I kinda wanna pick up another.
Told my partner that i was watching a guy showing off his Swiss semi-automatics. He assumed i meant fire armss and googled Thorens semi auto. He was confused 😅

as a mechanic
why would you point out your fake "profession"?
Imagine lighting a cigar... With STYLE!
Never imagined I'd be interested in lighters, but here I am. The mechanisms are fascinating.
I agreed with you and I don’t know why the lighters nowadays are so boring 😮💨
This is one of the most fascinating RUclips videos I’ve seen all year! Outstanding

This room is like a museum for lighters.
At least a 10'000 dollar collection 🤔 who knows for how long he is collecting.
I think it’s worth far more than that
@@Ercan-cy3we I've checked, some of those lighters are worth thousands by themselves.

How many lighters do you have and can you please tell us a bit more about your personal history of collecting them? Great pieces indeed!
Thanks for watching 😊 Currently I only have between 2000 and 3000 lighters in total, but the collection is growing little by little 🙂↔️
I'm working on new horizontal formats which should be exactly what you're looking for ❤ Just not as simple as it seems to produce for me 😂
