This is great. I'm having issues with the phono on my 2230 and considering digging into it like this as I think it might be one of those troublesome resisters you pointed out. But man do I not have the tools for it and might just wreck the whole thing.
It's an easy rebuild. You only need the parts, a soldering iron of reasonable quality, desolder wick, a spool of good solder. Plus a few hand tools such as a phillips screwdriver, etc. Once you remove and replace a couple of the components, you'll be inspired to do a full rebuild of the board. There's a lot of good soldering teaching videos on RUclips. I recommend buying an old VCR or junk receiver for $5 or $10 at Goodwill to practice on first.
