Awesome topic, very thought provoking for hardcore KISS fans who always wanted a heavier 10-song KISS album in 1978. My thoughts on a full-on KISS album in '78 would have included improved bass, drums and guitar sonics. More 'live' in-studio vocals which would give the album more 'presence' and a better KISS musical evolution coming after Love Gun. 1) Radioactive 2) It's Alright 3) New York Groove 4) I'm Gonna Love You 5) Wouldn't You Like to Know Me 6) Fractured Mirror 7) Living in Sin 8) You Matter to Me 9) Tonight You Belong to Me 10) What's On Your Mind

Just discovered this video and interesting that Peter didn't mention the Australian Best Of Solo Albums compilation which had 3 tracks from each member.
Great Show! Great Topic! I'm a huge KISS fan and I have actually done this before making a comp CD about ten years ago, I pulled it out and re-listened and I will keep it the same... Side A 1. Tunnel of Love- gene 9. Love in Chains- paul 10. Good-bye- paul *11. bonus track: Radioactive- gene my album flows. the songs are sequenced perfectly
Fun episode, enjoyed everyone's take. I listen to the solo albums annually. Some years I can't stand Peter's and Gene's but then like them the next. Paul and Ace's are golden all the time though!
Great ideas - hey, what would you have CALLED/Titled the album you created here? I have to go back and listen to all these really. But to me - Gene's was the most eclectic, experimental (as in pushing the usual KISS sound) AND melodic. I always found his to be the most listenable. "You Matter To Me' by Criss indeed sounds like the production of the day - almost Yacht Rock, right? Something Paul Davis might have done at the time. It's a good song for it's genre.
Side A: 1. Tonight You Belong To Me 2. Rip It Out 3. See You Tonight 4. Move On 5. Love In Chains Side B: 1. Radioactive 2. It's Alright 3. Wouldn't You Like To Know Me 4. New York Groove 5. I Can't Stop The Rain KISS - RADIOACTIVE (1978) Singles: Radioactive b/w It's Alright New York Groove b/w I Can't Stop The Rain

I got the urge to look up which "blank" records they are using to show their picks. The LP (NBLP 7057) is, understandably, Kiss "Love Gun". The 45 (NB 945) for their single picks is YMCA by the Village People, which surprised me!
Side 1 1) Tonight You Belong To Me Stanley 2) Living In Sin Simmons 3) New York Groove Frehley 4) See You Tonite Simmons 5) Wouldn’t You Like To Know Me Stanley Side 2 1) Radioactive Simmons 2) Snowblind Frehley 3) Move On Stanley 4) Rip It Out Frehley 5) Tossin’ And Turnin’ Criss
Interesting to be. Here's a double vinyl somehow would be IMO . Other wise 16 tracks to a cd. Called "KISS -Individual Knights". 1. Rip It Out- Ace Frehley 2. Radio Active-Gene Simmons 3. Tonight You Belong To Me- Paul Stanley 4. I'm In Need Of Love -Ace Frehley 5..Wouldn't You Like To Know Me-Paul Stanley 6. It's Alright-Paul Stanley 7. Speedin Back To My Baby= Ace Frehley 8. Rock Me Baby-Peter Criss (a kind of old Lee Michaels vibe from this song with the piano start and super sound from vocale like Lee Michaels slightly.) 9.Snowblind- Ace Frehley 10. Love In Chains- Paul Stanley 11. Wiped Out-Ace Frehley 12. I Can't Stop The Rain-Peter Criss (A super ballad and singing from Peter so sweet and nice. A passionate song to being together with that loved one) Big hit. 13, See You In My Dreams- Gene Simmons 14. Take Me Away Together As One-Paul Stanley 15. Move On- Paul Stanley 16. Fractured Mirror-Ace Frehley As would be they would honor Ace with the 6 tracks Peter would have 2 Gene would have 2 and Paul would have 6. I find these songs the finest to my listening likes from the 4 albums. Other songs mildly sometimes. This though would be my faves for the double album tho. The Single would be Peter Criss - I Can't Stop The Rain. A side B side Rip It Out Ace Frehley. And the Peter Criss would be song to reach no, 1 for 78 since "Beth* back in 76. A second single sure why not Radioactive- Gene Simmons b/w Paul Stanley It's Alright. 3rd single New York Groove-Ace Frehley bw Rock Me Baby-Peter Criss. As a side away single Ace would do for a 4th single of a track that didn't be on the album but would score well so people had to get the single to have New York Groove. Which was a hit for him anyway so it would have been. The thing is any member would not have a 2 side single and Eddie Kramer would suggest they have a different song for a side B from one of the other members and that would be a a feel of great collaboration from the 4 then being apart for their 4 solo albums. And any other tracks that of note they as we know they did do individually would be on a later album would be on KISS - *Army Solos Left Behind" Bring out probably in 80. There ya go let's here how my cd album stacks up. Take care everyone. KISS Army high flyin!👍🎤🎸🥁🎹☮
My tracklisting for the KISS Solo Albums '78 cd is going to be in the cd format with 12 tracks similar to Reed's. The track listing is as follows: 1. Tonight You Belong To Me (Paul Stanley) 2. New York Groove (Ace Frehley) 3. Man Of 1,000 Faces (Gene Simmons) 4. It's Alright (Paul Stanley) 5. Snowblind (Ace Frehley) 6. Tossin' & Turnin' (Peter Criss) 7. Radioactive (Gene Simmons) 8. Wouldn't You Like To Know Me (Paul Stanley) 9. Rip It Out (Ace Frehley) 10. Ozone (Ace Frehley) 11. Hooked On Rock & Roll (Peter Criss) 12. Goodbye (Paul Stanley)
My 1978 album would also be called Radioactive, and side A would be: 1. Tonight you belong to me 2. Rip it out 3. See You Tonite 4. Ain’t Quite Right 5. Speeding Back to my Baby Side B: 1. Radioactive 2. New York Groove 3. Would’nt You Like To Know Me 4. Tossin and Turning 5. Man of a 1000 faces 6. Goodbye
Here is my album…(forgot to add to my previous comment…) Side A 1.) Tonight you belong to me 2.) Rip it out 3.) It’s Alright 4.) Snowblind 5.) Take me away (Together as one) Side B 1.) Radioactive 2.) Speedin’ back to my baby (sung by Peter) 3.) Wouldn’t you like to know me 4.) What’s on yer mind 5.) Goodbye
I have a different list with no cover songs allowed despite the fact that I love ace's version of New York Groove.. SIDE ONE 1) Rip it Out, 2) Wouldn't You lIke to Know Me 3) Man of 1000 Faces, 4) That's the Kind of Sugar Poppa Likes, 5) Fractured Mirror. SIDE TWO 6) Radio Active, 7) Tonight you Belong to Me, 8) It's all Right, 9) Wiped Out, 10) I Can't Stop the Rain. That would have the right balance of 3 each for Ace & Paul, and 2 each from Gene & Peter.
Mine would be: 1. Goodbye 2. Man of 1,000 Faces 3. Ozone 4. Take me Away 5. Fractured Mirror 1. Rip it Out 2. Always Near You/ Nowhere to Hide 3. Tonight You Belong to Me 4. I'm in Need of Love 5. It's Alright 6. I Can't Stop the Rain Single: Rip it Out/ Tonight You Belong to Me Ace (easily my fav!), then Gene followed by Paul and Peter (but I actually prefer "Out of Control"). I do believe that Paul songs work better individually/ outside of the album (hence 4 tracks of him here). Cheers.
SIDE ONE - 1. Rip It Out 2. Tonight You Belong To Me 3. New York Groove 4. Mr Make Believe 5. Speedin' Back To My Baby SIDE TWO - 6. Radioactive 7. Snowblind 8. See You Tonight 9. It's Alright 10. I Can't Stop The Rain SINGLE - Side A Rip It Out Side B Radioactive
Mine would be a typical 5 songs on each side.. Side 1 Move On Rip It Out Speedin Back To My Baby Man if 1000 Faces Radioactive Side 2 New York Groove Tonight You Belong To Me Tossin and Turnin Hold Me Touch Me Living In Sin
1. Rip It Out 2. Move On 3. Speedin' Back to My Baby 4. Tossin' and Turnin' 5. Wouldn't You Like to Know Me 6. New York Groove 7. I'm in Need of Love 8. Mr. Make Believe 9. Wiped Out 10. Love in Chains
I cheated by including the studio tracks from Alive II, but I think this would've made one of Kiss' best albums 01 - All American Man 02 - Rockin' In The USA 03 - Larger Than Life 04 - Rocket Ride 05 - Tonight You Belong To Me 06 - I Can't Stop The Rain 07 - Radioactive 08 - Rip It Out 09 - Move On 10 - It's Alright 11 - Fractured Mirror 12 - New York Groove single: New York Groove / Any Way You Want It
K I S S "RADIOACTIVE" Side A: Tonight U Belong 2 Me Rip It Out Radioactive (intro edit) Snowblind Mr Makebelieve Side B: Move On Speeding Back... Living In Sin Don't U Let Me Down Goodbye Single: Radioactive/Move On
Difficult as great songs will inevitably be left off, so made it musically and stylistically where late ‘70s Kiss were at melodically then, a more commercial sounding band but still with a harder edge and a well flowing song order. In my opinion, anyway. Love in Chains What’s on Your Mind Tunnel of Love Don't You Let Me Down Take Me Away (Together as One) New York Groove Man of 1,000 Faces Tonight You Belong to Me I Can't Stop the Rain Fractured Mirror
For me: Ace was the best album, but Paul was my favorite. I liked about half of Gene's and Peter?....hard one to digest. Side A: 1. Tonight you Belong to Me (Paul) 2. New York Groove (Ace) 3. Mr. Make Believe (Gene) 4. Wouldn't you Like to Know Me (Paul) 5. Speedin' Back to my Baby (Ace) Side 2. 1. Rip It Out (Ace) 2. Ain't Quite Right (Paul) 3. You Matter to Me ( Peter) 4. Snowblind (Ace) 5. Goodbye (Paul)
Without being too specific, for my best of KISS solo albums I'd pick a bunch from Gene's, a few from Ace's, one or two from Paul's, and maaaaaaybe one (?) from Peter's. Gene's solo album has always been > * for me.
Absolutely right! The Ace Frehley solo album from 1978 is not only the best Kiss solo LP, it's one of the finest hard rock albums of the late 70s... period! Marc ⚡
I’m sorry, even one Peter tune would bring down the quality of my album. So I’ll let him sing one of Ace’s songs. Side 1 1. Tonight you belong to me (Paul) 2. Speeding back to my baby (Peter on vocals) 3. See you tonight (Gene) 4. Wouldn’t you like to know me (Paul) 5. Rip it out (Ace) Side 2 1. Radioactive (Gene) 2. New York Groove (Ace) 3. Snow Blind (Ace) 4. Mr. Make Believe (Gene) 5. Take Me Away (Together as one) (Paul)
Man.. some of the picks are odd to me.. Mine 1. Tonight you belong to me 2. It's alright 3. Living in sin 4. New York groove 5. Wouldn't you like to know me --- 1. radioactive 2. Move on 3. Tunnel of Love 4. Hooked on Rock n roll 5. goodbye These aren't my personal favorites, but I think it makes the best KISS album
I love that Ace isn’t a trained musician - his songwriting is unique because of it. His later albums are all but unlistenable to me because his vocals don’t sit right in the groove of the song but back then he was great.
The best song from the solo albums 'Radioactive' .... followed by a couple of light years behind 'Rip it out' ... in my humble opinion of course . I purchased all 4 solo albums new off the shelf back in the day .. and lets be honest they sucked dogs balls then and still do today.
Only Gene song that would’ve made my album would be Radioactive… Peter Criss would not get any songs that he wrote but I would let him sing lead vocal on ‘speeding back to my baby’… Rest of the album would be filled with Ace/Paul songs
Side A Rip it out Wouldn't you like to know me NY GROOVE Radioactive I'm gonna love you Side B Snow Blind Tonight you belong to me See you in your dreams Together as One
I had same thought as Joe: The whole Ace LP is the best material on all 4!! That being said I actually like all 4 LP's, they just can't compare with Ace's Reed's list was HORRIBLE!!! He talked way too long and had the worst take!! Saying the Tonight you Belong solo is better than Ace's solos hahaha. Ace's solos on songs like Strange Ways or Makin' Love they are incredible and so original and creative!!! Reed prefers 80's KISS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reed should not have been in this video. He's obviously not the right guy for this thing. Anybody who prefers "Tossin' and Turnin'" to Ace's mighty solo album just can't hang, to use his phrase.
Just take all the tunes from Ace's solo album. Killer tunes, killer drums (Anton Fig), killer guitar (you know who), killer production (Eddie Kramer). The other's albums were cheddar cheese and such low grade, amateur swill in comparison.
Ace is by far the best, but trying to make a balanced and realistic album, as no way would the egos of Paul and Gene and allow for 4,5 or 6 Ace Songs lol. Radioactive Tonight you Belong to Me Snowblind Mr Make Believe Take Me Away (Together as One) New York Groove Love in Chains Living In Sin Rip It Out I Can't Stop the Rain
haha good point, i should have thought about the gene and paul factor, though Ace did get 3 songs each on unamasked and Dynasty, one more than gene on dynasty even
Kiss stopped being themselves after alive 2! It happened because of Beth in my opinion! Paul, Ace, and Gene, wanted that success Peter got with that song! Just look at the song writing, Paul would never have wrote something like hold me , touch me if Beth hadn’t been a hit! Paul wrote love gun thinking it would be huge, it didn’t do anything on the charts! He saw that and had to think; I’m done writing this heavy rock stuff trying to get a hit! He was banking on hold me touch me to be all over the radio! It failed in part because radio didn’t like kiss and there was no way the stations would be playing 4 kiss singles! It would have done better if it had been released on a kiss album following the success of New York groove! The stations would had played it cause kiss just had a hit! Just my two cents!
when me and my die-hard KISS ARMY Buddy heard "I was made for Loving You" on the radio the day it was released.... we HATED IT. HATED IT. Yes, I did buy Dynasty and it 'okay'. But I don't really enjoy the 'disco' song. ACE IS COOL. I like Ace solo. I prefer KISS with Ace
I really like most of Genes album even though it’s taken a lot of criticism . Remixed I thing most of the songs would sounds like they could be KISS songs. About half of Paul’s album I really like . Nothing on Peters album sounds like KISS . A few songs may have been Okay if Bob Seger rewrote them and re-recorded them. Ace’s album in my opinion is way over rated. Almost ever song I think had really good concepts. If Paul and Gene helped Ace write those songs I think they could have been great. The cord changes in Aces songs didn’t fit and flow right to my ears.
I started listening to Kiss when I was 42, having gone through a very intensive prog rock period before that.Oh, and I was familiar with about five Sabbath albums at the time, great band as well. But I had no problems diving deep into the KISS catalog as a middle-aged woman, it was great!
Reed is so off base. There is no musician on Paul's album or any of Ace's replacements that have inspired generations of guitar players to pick up the guitar like Ace has. He is the only true artist from Kiss. What Reed calls "simplicity" others may hear as relatability and accessible.
The bad movie the solo albums double platnuim messed them up it was too much time off .Plus don’t call dynasty a disco album if you do you need a punch .

Just discovered this video and interesting that Peter didn't mention the Australian Best Of Solo Albums compilation which had 3 tracks from each member.
Great Show! Great Topic! I'm a huge KISS fan and I have actually done this before making a comp CD about ten years ago, I pulled it out

@@darylhall2198 No way, man. The album is still trash and it won't get any better. Hard enough to find a single usable track.

my album flows. the songs are sequenced perfectly
Fun episode, enjoyed everyone's take. I listen to the solo albums annually. Some years I can't stand Peter's and Gene's but then like them the next. Paul and Ace's are golden all the time though!
My KISS record made from the solo albums woulda been titled "The Girl Goodbye"
Great ideas - hey, what would you have CALLED/Titled the album you created here? I have to go back and listen to all these really. But to me - Gene's was the most eclectic, experimental (as in pushing the usual KISS sound) AND melodic. I always found his to be the most listenable. "You Matter To Me' by Criss indeed sounds like the production of the day - almost Yacht Rock, right? Something Paul Davis might have done at the time. It's a good song for it's genre.
Side A:
1. Tonight You Belong To Me
2. Rip It Out
3. See You Tonight
4. Move On
5. Love In Chains
Side B:
1. Radioactive

I got the urge to look up which "blank" records they are using to show their picks. The LP (NBLP 7057) is, understandably, Kiss "Love Gun". The 45 (NB 945) for their single picks is YMCA by the Village People, which surprised me!
haha nice detective work
Side 1
1) Tonight You Belong To Me Stanley
2) Living In Sin Simmons
3) New York Groove Frehley
4) See You Tonite Simmons
5) Wouldn’t You Like To Know Me Stanley
Side 2
1) Radioactive Simmons
2) Snowblind Frehley
3) Move On Stanley
4) Rip It Out Frehley
5) Tossin’ And Turnin’ Criss
Interesting to be.
Here's a double vinyl somehow would be IMO . Other wise 16 tracks to a cd. Called "KISS -Individual Knights".
1. Rip It Out- Ace Frehley
2. Radio Active-Gene Simmons
3. Tonight You Belong To Me- Paul Stanley
4. I'm In Need Of Love -Ace Frehley
5..Wouldn't You Like To Know Me-Paul Stanley
6. It's Alright-Paul Stanley
7. Speedin Back To My Baby= Ace Frehley
8. Rock Me Baby-Peter Criss (a kind of old Lee Michaels vibe from this song with the piano start and super sound from vocale like Lee Michaels slightly.)
9.Snowblind- Ace Frehley
10. Love In Chains- Paul Stanley
11. Wiped Out-Ace Frehley
12. I Can't Stop The Rain-Peter Criss (A super ballad and singing from Peter so sweet and nice. A passionate song to being together with that loved one) Big hit.
13, See You In My Dreams- Gene Simmons
14. Take Me Away Together As One-Paul Stanley
15. Move On- Paul Stanley
16. Fractured Mirror-Ace Frehley
As would be they would honor Ace with the 6 tracks Peter would have 2 Gene would have 2 and Paul would have 6.
The track listing is as follows:

9. Rip It Out (Ace Frehley)
10. Ozone (Ace Frehley)

5. Speeding Back to my Baby
Side B:

Mine would be:
1. Goodbye
2. Man of 1,000 Faces
3. Ozone
4. Take me Away
5. Fractured Mirror

3. Tonight You Belong to Me
4. I'm in Need of Love
5. It's Alright
6. I Can't Stop the Rain
Single: Rip it Out/ Tonight You Belong to Me
Ace (easily my fav!), then Gene followed by Paul and Peter (but I actually prefer "Out of Control"). I do believe that Paul songs work better individually/ outside of the album (hence 4 tracks of him here). Cheers.
Great album!
@@thecontrarians2438 Thank you! You guys know that there actually is a Best of the solo albums (Casablanca 79)?

Great show guys!
Thank you!
you have to NAME the albums!!
Any way you look at it, Ace was the face of KISS. I was only seven years old back then, but every kid on my block loved and wanted to be the Spaceman.
Reed is the man! 80's Kiss guy here.
It would be so cool if someone would arrange the 4 solo portraits and arrange them to look like With The Beatles!
Difficult as great songs will inevitably be left off, so made it musically and stylistically where late ‘70s Kiss were at melodically then, a more commercial sounding band but still with a harder edge and a well flowing song order. In my opinion, anyway.
Love in Chains
What’s on Your Mind
Tunnel of Love
Don't You Let Me Down
Take Me Away (Together as One)
New York Groove
Man of 1,000 Faces
Tonight You Belong to Me
I Can't Stop the Rain
Fractured Mirror
For me: Ace was the best album, but Paul was my favorite. I liked about half of Gene's and Peter?....hard one to digest.
Side A:
1. Tonight you Belong to Me (Paul)
2. New York Groove (Ace)
3. Mr. Make Believe (Gene)
4. Wouldn't you Like to Know Me (Paul)
5. Speedin' Back to my Baby (Ace)
Side 2.
1. Rip It Out (Ace)
2. Ain't Quite Right (Paul)
3. You Matter to Me ( Peter)
4. Snowblind (Ace)
5. Goodbye (Paul)
Without being too specific, for my best of KISS solo albums I'd pick a bunch from Gene's, a few from Ace's, one or two from Paul's, and maaaaaaybe one (?) from Peter's. Gene's solo album has always been > * for me.
Just take the Ace album, done!
Absolutely right! The Ace Frehley solo album from 1978 is not only the best Kiss solo LP, it's one of the finest hard rock albums of the late 70s... period!

I’m sorry, even one Peter tune would bring down the quality of my album. So I’ll let him sing one of Ace’s songs.
Side 1
1. Tonight you belong to me (Paul)
2. Speeding back to my baby (Peter on vocals)
3. See you tonight (Gene)
4. Wouldn’t you like to know me (Paul)
5. Rip it out (Ace)
Side 2
1. Radioactive (Gene)
2. New York Groove (Ace)
3. Snow Blind (Ace)
4. Mr. Make Believe (Gene)
5. Take Me Away (Together as one) (Paul)
Peters album is the best. Ace's mightve been if he didnt sing.

5. goodbye
These aren't my personal favorites, but I think it makes the best KISS album
I love that Ace isn’t a trained musician - his songwriting is unique because of it. His later albums are all but unlistenable to me because his vocals don’t sit right in the groove of the song but back then he was great.
The best song from the solo albums 'Radioactive' .... followed by a couple of light years behind 'Rip it out' ... in my humble opinion of course . I purchased all 4 solo albums new off the shelf back in the day .. and lets be honest they sucked dogs balls then and still do today.
I must say that Reed is the ultimate Contrarian. To choose 80's Kiss over 70' Kiss is the ultimate contrarian choice.
agreed! ...though im actually a fan of 80's kiss, it doesnt beat 70's kiss for sure
All decades of kiss have some good albums. But the 70’s including 3 of the solo albums are all great. Superb era for the band.
My two favorite Kiss albums are #1 - Asylum, #2 - Animalize.
@@gwts1171 asylum is definitely my favorite 80's kiss
Only Gene song that would’ve made my album would be Radioactive… Peter Criss would not get any songs that he wrote but I would let him sing lead vocal on ‘speeding back to my baby’… Rest of the album would be filled with Ace/Paul songs
I love the idea of Peter singing lead vocal on one of the Ace songs for this exercise. So obvious once I see it, but I didn't see it.

NY GROOVE
Radioactive
I'm gonna love you
Side B
Snow Blind
Tonight you belong to me

my album does not include any songs from the Peter Criss disaster
I had same thought as Joe: The whole Ace LP is the best material on all 4!! That being said I actually like all 4 LP's, they just can't compare with Ace's
Reed's list was HORRIBLE!!!
Totally agree. His assessment of Ace was ridiculous. A lot of my favorite KISS songs were written by Ace.
The other's albums were cheddar cheese and such low grade, amateur swill in comparison.
none of this is better than unmasked
Ace is by far the best, but trying to make a balanced and realistic album, as no way would the egos of Paul and Gene and allow for 4,5 or 6 Ace Songs lol.
Radioactive
Tonight you Belong to Me
Snowblind
Mr Make Believe
Take Me Away (Together as One)
New York Groove
Love in Chains
Living In Sin
Rip It Out
I Can't Stop the Rain
haha good point, i should have thought about the gene and paul factor, though Ace did get 3 songs each on unamasked and Dynasty, one more than gene on dynasty even
Kiss stopped being themselves after alive 2! Just my two cents!
great point. They followed that trend with unmasked.
Putting an exclamation point after every single sentence makes you sound like a teenage girl. Grow up.
Except Fractured Mirror is track 10 not 9
fun !!
Peter gets 1 track!
Gene 2
Paul 4
Ace 6
Could have never happened
A thousand per cent agree with Reed. Loved the way he presented his arguments.
👍👍
first.....u would need a whole album just for ACE'S songs 😂
Peter should not have brought up this topic. Cause I don’t think any of his would have made it.
when me and my die-hard KISS ARMY Buddy heard "I was made for Loving You" on the radio the day it was released.... we HATED IT. HATED IT. Yes, I did buy Dynasty and it 'okay'. But I don't really enjoy the 'disco' song. ACE IS COOL. I like Ace solo. I prefer KISS with Ace
I’d just delete what’s on your mind.and I’m in need of love for. Tonight you belong to me and it’s alright
Should hAVE ben a double alum w/ all of the boys backing the others!
I don't think there is enough top notch material to make this a great double album...now a great single album is another story 🙂
@@vinylrec Fair enough .......still think that there is enough great stuff for a double.
So, Reed thinks Ace Frehley is a terrible musician. [gaze]
80s KISS over 70s KISS??? Absolutely NOT!!!
This episode is probably going to make me mad. 😂
I was right. 😂
ACE. PAUL. 2 GENE SONGS. NO PETER SONGS
I quit listening to Kiss when I was 13; the moment I first heard a Black Sabbath song.
Same here i was same age been a Sabbath fan ever since... A friend gave me a copy of We sold our souls for rock and roll... It blew me away...
I started listening to Kiss when I was 42, having gone through a very intensive prog rock period before that.Oh, and I was familiar with about five Sabbath albums at the time, great band as well. But I had no problems diving deep into the KISS catalog as a middle-aged woman, it was great!
I disagree that Ace Frehley is the sound of Kiss. Paul Stanley is Kiss for me. Voice, image and talent.
Fair enough, but you can’t tell me that Kiss didn’t lose something when Ace left. They became generic to my ears..
Reed is so off base. There is no musician on Paul's album or any of Ace's replacements that have inspired generations of guitar players to pick up the guitar like Ace has. He is the only true artist from Kiss. What Reed calls "simplicity" others may hear as relatability and accessible.
1st off I like Peter criss solo album. Gene solo is absolutely horrible! No songs from gene solo album would be on my album.
The bad movie the solo albums double platnuim messed them up it was too much time off .Plus don’t call dynasty a disco album if you do you need a punch .
They all suck except Ace's doesn't suck as bad so any way you try it'll suck.
Reed i agree with you ---Ace is overrated, aversge guitarist.
Ace overrated...
Shut up Tommy
Underrated. ⚡️
