Letting Google Chrome to save our login credentials has become very common. It’s easy and saves us time. But it is not at all privacy friendly. If you use a shared device or a hacker able to get remote access to the device then it is very much easy for them to check your saved passwords.
It’s obvious that Chrome Smart Lock feature won't let any users check the passwords directly from the settings. However, while we try to login to a website using Chrome's autofill password and if the website has an eye button beside the password filled then anyone can just tap on it and see the credentials. If the websites do not have the eye button then using Chrome’s Dev tool anyone can check the passwords without having any programming knowledge.
To solve this issue firstly the users need to stop saving passwords using Chrome’s in-built Password Manager and need to switch to a cloud based third party Password Manager.

What they are not explaining is that if someone has logged onto your system (PC etc.) to see this info, they have already compromised you, your system and probably your two factor authentication.

Yes, but they might not have your banking, email, or social media passwords yet. Similar situation: If a burglar is in your house, it means they got passed your alarm system, your door locks and your rotweilers, however, they might not have cracked your jewelry safe yet.

If attackers have already control of your computer it won't matter what password manager you use.

There's malware that specifically targets Chrome passwords. With a 3rd party password manager it usually requires multiple passwords and 2fa to log into. It's much more difficult to crack a manager than browser passwords.

Pretty much ... I had an attack, I suspect the malware was from a Fling Trainer for a PC Game. A lot of saved urls on Edge (Based on Chromium) and Chrome used on the attack like sites on China to receive confirmation texts (For the attacker). Changed all the important passwords and now I use a Password Manager (Deleted all from Browsers), and enabled 2FA if available.
