A few tips. When you stencil hold your foam brush hold it straight up and dab like a bingo fibber. Don’t paint traditionally and wipe side to side, that’s how you get bleeding. You can also stencil with mod Podge first, let dry, then paint for crisp lines. You can also countersink your screws so that they do not stick out on the bottom. Foam pads are a good idea either way.
I had never heard of a noodle board until I stumbled upon them on Etsy last night. I wanted one instantly but never considered trying to make my own. You made it look so easy! I don't think I have the patience to see it through so I'll probably end up just buying one 😂. You did an amazing job!! I love the white wash look.
Mod podge over your stencil before you paint is a game changer! It's made crafting more fun and less work! Thanks for the tips I'm about to make 4 for my family for christmas and I've never made one 🤣
hey Kelly a tip I have learned is to lay your stencil down then in this case you would put white down since that was your color of your noodle board or try putting your stencil down then applying mod podge before you put your black on and see if those help! i make signs and have made these before and if my board is stained then obviously the white wouldn't work so you would use the mod podge! it turned out great!
I simply love how Talented you are Kelly it's absolutely stunning and you you should be proud of all of changes you've made towards your mum's home to make it a better home 💕💕
Great job I love it. My husband made me one back in December love how it makes my kitchen look better I need all the help I can get my kitchen is 33 years old Lol
I seen it on Instagram before this video but I loved watching how you made it. You're so talented and have patience. When you made mistakes you calmly just figure out how to correct it where I would be getting upset I wish I had your patience to attempt making one. I think it looks beautiful.
In the future, to avoid all the bleeding, use a make up sponge and “dab”, don”t brush, your image. That will prevent the bleeding. It may take you a little longer because you’ll need to make several passes, but there will be no bleeding.
Vinyl from the Cricut holds up fine it's just a matter of the correct order to do it in. Put your clear cote or poly on then put the vinyl on and clear or poly over that. I did one for my Mom years ago and it looks just as good today as it did then.
Thank you for sharing how you made this!! I'm going to show it to my hubby (I can't make anything but a mess lol) & see if he'll make me one 😊 You are so talented!! Great job Momma!! Looks just awesome ❤️
Love it you did a great job, I would love one exactly like it as I am a Nana as well. This is my first video I have seen on your and I subscribed as I loved it.
1. You can adhere stained wood to each other. Rough up the area on both sides where the glue is going. 2 Countersink the screws on the back or they'll scratch up the stove finish. Also gives it a "finished" look.
Kelly, love the noodle board and plan on making one, I do have a question - did you inset the screws so they don’t scratch the glass cook top? Thank you
Is there a reason why the wood is not squared up here on the rungs that the handles are on, at the front of the stove it shows those two side top vertical boards with the handles on them are longer than the size of the platform horizontal boards?
That looks amazing! I wouldn't mind one of those for my stove. My counter space is about the length of my arm. I don't wanna sound stupid but what was putting nails in the back of the board? To just keep it in place?

yep for sure. great tip. i learn the hard way long time ago to mod podge first. it really helps those sloppy like me incase you make a mistake. lol

Actually if you add glue first it won't matter what brush you use because it won't bleed when adding paint. 😉
I love the yellow in it. Makes it look more rustic.
Beautiful! Heading to the home Depot now 😁

Yea it holds it in place. Extra support!
Good job hun! Looks great!
Great job love it
One of the most gorgeous stove top covers I've seen great job. Definitely going to try this how much did the total project cost you?
Is there any need to put something on the bottom of the board to protect the stovetop from getting scratched? Or does that not really happen?
You also need to clamp the boards/ brad nail together while the glue dries.
Hi, great job! What size is the stencil?
Love it! You did a great job
Thank you for the demonstration. Where did you get your handles that you screw in from the top?
Great job !! Love it ❤️
