    you need to take the grease trap out completely and mount it sideways like any other Blackstone. Actually really good feature to store the grease trap.

    The manual is more than helpful. It does tell you to check the ignitor 1/8 inch from the burner, mine needed to be adjusted on the griddle side, it was literally touching from the box. The spare grease cups and the new tools for the camping griddles will all fit for travel under the grate for the burner easily. Might check that dome too. Again, reading the manual it tells you how to install the grease cup from the storage location for use.

    Follow up a couple months later - bought one and love it. Except the plastic handle is already broken. It's just a round piece of plastic snug between the two holders and each holder already cracked. Blackstone is sending a replacement but I'll be measuring the size and just going to Home Depot or something to find something a bit more sturdy.

    I dont agree completely with your review. Reading the instructions would have solved several of your complaints about the griddle, including the grease cup and being hard to ignite. I had to adjust the ignitor on mine when i got it and now its no problem lighting. Im actually impressed with how well it cooks being as small and compact as it is. I also like the aluminum top. I picked up the nylon/silicone utensil kit when i got mine so i wouldnt scratch up the top, and it cooks great! Nothing sticks to it and its very easy to clean. Plus, if im taking it somewhere, its very nice to not have to deal with oil and seasoning, or worry about rust during storage.

    • @alexhafko5667
      @alexhafko5667 5 месяцев назад +1

      Its also very good on fuel using both burners actually. I did a pretty lengthy cook (about an hour) and i went through maybe a third of a one pound bottle. Thats far better than my 17 single burner is on gas, which goes through nearly an entire bottle for one cook.

    We got the griddle only version of this as we have a small separate burner which can fit bigger pans on. This one can only take a tiny pan which may be sufficient for some. The quality isn't the absolute best but if you are not heavy handed with it I can't see why these wouldn't last. We don't go camping with ours, we use it at home to grill outside and have a backup cooking source when the power goes out. We are also going to use it along with our separate burner for when we rip out the old kitchen as we won't have a cooker to use for a few weeks.

    Sorry, but instead of laying instructios to the side, you should have read them first. The instructions will tell you:
    how to remove griddle surface
    how to properly use levelers
    how to use grease cup
    do not season
    how to adjust ignitors
    and most important-DO NOT USE METAL UTENSILS!

      While it wont get exactly the same sear as the steel top does, the aluminum is actually nice in its own way. The aluminum heats up very quickly and cools off very quickly for cleanup, and the nonstick is great. Absolutely nothing sticks to it and it was flawless just wiping it with a paper towel after bacon, pineapple, burgers, and brats. Mine was hard to light at first, but gee read the instructions and adjusted the ignitor and didnt have a problem with it from then on.
