This will be my third anbernic handheld....im hoping this will satisfy my ongoing wanting the perfect psp emulator under $200. Honestly im on a quest to get at least 5 more handhelds....i dont like the design of the deck but i have seen these odin pro 2 types including itself. This will be my first "big boy" emulation machine. I hope i can get used to it
There are tons of videos about anbernic devices on here. Thank you for being the only one I could find about actually setting up a device. We need more stuff like this. This also works with the 405M. Keep up the good work, you mad lad.

Mines coming tomorrow, first handheld since the gameboy advance 😂 I won’t lie, all the custom stuff you can do with this is kinda intimidating.
Super intimidating but also i’m starting to get scared that graphics are going to be worse than i expected… funny thing is i bought a psp go with thousands of games pre downloaded but like back in 2012 and the picture quality is equal to or better than… which does not make sense..
@@psychomorphs8871 the graphics are actually really nice for everything up to like ps2… I run my psp games on like 4X. Wish I had an Odin pro tho.

@shakevance I got the grey model. It runs great! The only issues I've even had is running into a rom occasionally that doesn't wanna run, but it's few & far between. I have no other device to compare it to, only a steam deck which are 2 different things, but I highly recommend the 405m. The chassis makes it feel high quality too.

Why is the cable so important? You say if you use a laptop cable it will blow out the battery but a cable is a cable. The part you plug the cable into is what’s
Important. There’s a transformer inside each power brick or anywhere you plug in the usb. What you plug it into is what’s important. The cable is not usually that important.
I’ve had 2 and I still can’t get all the games to work on the sd card

Did you buy it with the SD card? This is where the games are. It will also depend if the seller you bought it from provides this service or not.

My device setup didn’t have that setup it showed you. I don’t have a desktop with the apps. It just automatically goes straight to the emulators and games

Mine didnt give me a choice of English or Chinese. I had Chinese installed and had to find a tictok video of changing to English from Chinese

I bought mine and I can’t figure out how to get any of my games to load I’ve erased all data and reset the thing and I get no pop ups when I try to switch to game mode… all it shows is 0 games available

Tbh honest they are pretty much the same it terms of what they can do, but the feel of this one makes it feel like a you're holding a deluxe quality handheld 😊

did you install those games onto the sd card or does the rg405m came with the sd card installed already with games from the factory?

Ok this may be a dumb question but where are the games? I went through the set-up process as shown in the video but now I don’t know where to go to actually open the games. I’m used to the Anbernic RG35XX where you turn it on, select a game system, click on it and you instantly have a catalog of 100/150 games to choose from. With this, if I open a GBA emulator I have to set/select folders, if I open “file” then I can choose a game system and see games but if I click on it I just get a message “can’t preview this file type”. Where are the games!!??
Did you ever figure this out? I am about to get one but I wouldn't be good with downloading games and all that stuff so I'll only get it if it comes with games
I for whatever reason have no games preloaded at all even though I’m supposed to have them preloaded

I just ordered mine. I’m thinking it does. But the more gigs the memory card has the more preloaded games it comes with. For example the one i ordered has 128g’s and for the n64 games I think it’s got like 6-8 games pre downloaded. Compared to this one, this one has 250g’s and it’s got 16 n64 games pre downloaded

@@the_yorkshire_gamer7042 yes it came with an SD card. I don't know how to check for ROMS. This is my first of this kind unit. I'm so frustrated.
@g7a7w7d if you have a pc or laptop, I would put the sd card in there and look for the roms folder, then look in the ps1 folder to see if there are any games/ROMS in there. If it's empty, I would go back to the seller and ask for a replacement

When I booted mine it went straight into android home screen, I didnt have a setup window :(
I’m having trouble with my retroarch menu in games.. I can’t save or load my games while using games through retro arch and I have my hot key to the menu toggle in settings but it still doesn’t work I need help please anyone
For some reason mine doesnt load the blue screen when i click confirm. It just pops up for a second then goes away. And wont load any games
help!! i’m stuck at 4:22 every time i press confirm it just goes back to the screen before the popup. the card in inserted correctly, what am i doing wrong?
So these have the games already in it and you don’t need WiFi to use it?
The games come on the provided sd card. No WiFi required to play the games on the sd card.

@abigailgonzales1545 if you just want the classic consoles (snes, nes, megadrive, gameboy, etc) up to ps1, hdmi out and no analogue sticks, then I'd deffo go for the rg35xx.
But if you want gamecube, ps2, wii, 3ds, psp, 2ds etc, playstore, touchscreen and android, then I'd go for this model
@@the_yorkshire_gamer7042 I’m really not sure what he’s looking for, I really don’t know anything about this stuff. I originally got him the ODIN pro 2 because that’s what he wanted, but every time he tried to play a game it only shows a black screen and he leaves next month and doesn’t have the time to figure out what went wrong so he just wanted to return it, but I do want to him to have something with games already preloaded, reliable, and convenient. I’m assuming the closest to the Odin is the RG405M?

Bit disappointed, no sega cd, Amiga cd32, neogeo cd. I have some sd cards at home from other handhold consoles, guess I can scan these?
As long as you download an android emulator that will play it then you're all good 😊

I've encountered the problem after a I put my SD card into my Android 12 phone e it fomatt the card in exfat that not allowed file over 4gb of space, there is a ton of over 4gb iso for ps2

Yes it does. You would need to buy the app from the play store. It cost me £5.99 but its well worth it

@KayleighTheBacon surprisingly good, I guess it really depends on your WiFi strength. I've shown me playing God of War Ragnorok on my tiktok livestreams using the app and there's literally no lag. It's basically a tiny screen for your ps5 😁

I get people like the play store and all that. But for pure retro functionality the various Linux distros and front ends are so, so, so much better than Android.
