Can you please give names of hernia specialists in the Detroit metro area? Are there any in the Henry Ford Hospital system?

Thanks for this. I love your channel. I had open umbilical hernia surgery with mesh almost 20 years ago. Over the years, scar tissue has accumulated around the edge of the mesh, While having my gallbladder removed this past year, the surgeon had to remove some of the “scar tissue”around the hernia repair. He discovered that a bunch of small hernias had developed around the 4.5” square of mesh in addition to scar tissue. Additionally my linea alba has partially separated. I’m a bit overweight, but not obese. He says that I now have “Swiss cheese” hernias that will need a major surgery for an overall large abdominal mesh installation. He will separate layers of abdominal muscles and inserts mesh in between them. I have little to no pain with this and I’m conflicted about having the surgery now or wait until I’m starting to feel pain. Do you have a video about Swiss cheese hernias and this major surgery?

Thanks for loving this channel. Please subscribe and spread the word.
As for hernias, especially Swiss cheese types, most patients require surgery if they have symptoms. We do not typically recommend any revisional hernia repair if there are no symptoms.

Do you have a list of required information needed for an online consultation? Types of scans and any other tests that are needed to make a determination.

Depends on the patient. Both are good choices

Thank you. I find sitting now for any length of time very painful and uncomfortable. Standing gives me some relief, finding a comfortable sleeping position is also very difficult
