      Well, to be honest, I did remove the dash and paint it like new. The rest is original. Has worn but still looks decent. Thanks for watching!

      Bought a 91 short 4x4 cheyene for 500 bucks running but the dash was total trash. My son told me his neighbor had a complete dash laying in his backyard and said I could have it free. I installed it and it's in perfect condition. So proud of that truck !! I drive it daily now.

    Thank you for your this great Vidor. I was able to follow the same steps on my own truck. The process took me about 2 hours and saved me a chunk of money.

    Very informative and detailed video. I put the cover back on too (why) I figured it may be a while before I have to do it again.

    Just checked my '92 K1500 and mine has the plastic cover over the fan motor too. It's been squeaking a little but I think I'll wait until I can't stand it to try to replace it!

    My 1992 blower motor is squealing like a pig now, i also need to replace my resistor so i can have low and meduim. I did both about 5 years ago on a 91 4x4 so its coming back to me now. Seems the resistor was a bit of a booger to get to

    • @ForceBuilt
      @ForceBuilt  26 дней назад

      The resistor is a little annoying but not too bad. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    Enjoyed the video, subscribed but have a couple of questions.
    1. Is unplugging the computer Not a big deal? Nothing to be concerned about?
    2. I have seen replacement motors that are for a one prong (terminal) system. Is that what you have?
    3. And lastly, was the new motor supplied with the ground that you put on?
    Thanks for taling the time to answer. Thanks!!

    • @ForceBuilt
      @ForceBuilt  5 месяцев назад +1

      1. Unplugging the computer is no big deal at all.
      2.There are 2 wires on the harness of the truck. If you watch the video closely, I take the ground prong from the old motor and swap it to the new motor. 10:55
      3. No, I took the connection from the old motor.
      Thanks!

    What’s a good tool to use besides an air ratchet? I don’t have that but I have a 73 piece socket set.. just wish I had a little more wiggle room.

    • @ForceBuilt
      @ForceBuilt  7 месяцев назад

      Mine is actually battery powered. It does make some jobs easier. If I didn't have it I would have used a regular ratchet. One that has a short stroke will work the best of course. Thanks for commenting!

      @@ForceBuilt no problem, I appreciate this video because this was a more in dept process and allowed me to understand what’s really going on behind my glove box. Most videos just cut and paste and then they have a solution lol, shit pisses me off, but again thanks to u… keep it real 💯

    • @ForceBuilt

      I think you will have to remove the fan motor to do that.

    I don't care if I put the cover back on. Couldn’t I simply rip the cover off?

    • @ForceBuilt
      @ForceBuilt  2 месяца назад

      Not sure. May have to cut a little. It is pretty secure.

    • @slantsix9783
      @slantsix9783 2 месяца назад +1

      @@ForceBuilt I went ahead an ripped my cover off. Seems someone had ripped it off before on this '93 Silverado because it looked as if the right side of the cover it had been torn off. Regardless, it worked. I got the blower replaced, and I put the cover back in place. No big deal if it falls off, and maybe I can somehow make it stay in place anyway. No need to remove the speaker screw, and no need to remove the glove box (unless the blower resistor needs replacement). Just be sure to lift the dash up and off the lug located below and to the right, so you can pull the dash outward just enough for blower removal clearance.
