    Something I forgot to mention, he’s an expert humblebragger: he’s says he’s not a master but then talks about being a champion 😜😂

      @@jerrystott7780 I'm kind of wondering about that myself. A couple years of serious behind-the-scenes MMA training can take you pretty far, and XXD is over the hill anyway. It would also explain how he got ripped.

    Fight goes like this: Xu stays at range for ten seconds and watches as TCC whiffles a few kicks in the air between them. Xu bum-rushes, closes distance and TCC crumbles under a few punches high and low. Referee intercedes, restarts the fight, Xu rushes in with a chain combination of punches and its allll over, ref stops the fight.

      @@metalxhorse I do believe that it is an art form, and that someone could really fuck somebody up by using it. But maybe it's because of his weight, age, or some other factors, they weren't using all of their abilities against him. Just like the video showing where Putin laid out a guy using a Judo technique. It was very slow, and not convincing. Also, I'm sure it was because it was Vladimir Putin and not some guy off the street. And the guy knowing that if he fucked Putin up, there would have been some dyer consequences to him, and/or his family. But yes, I do believe that Aikido is a well know martial art and could hurt someone drastically... 👍

      Chris White right on. I practice Qinna which is similar, and I’m convinced my teacher can snap wrist bones if given a fraction of opportunity. Sadly westerners never believe it until he grabs them. The eye only serves so much, thanks for the response 🙂

      @@metalxhorse Difficult to make it work against a competent striker or grappler. I trained for years in both Aikido and Kung Fu myself. Currently training Muay Thai and Aiki-Jutsu. There are some useful techniques, but you really need to supplement it with boxing or a decent style of kickboxing. And if the fight goes to the ground, you will need wrestling or BJJ if your opponent can ground grapple.

    • @metalxhorse
      @metalxhorse 5 лет назад +1

      The Outlander this is true, it’s more of a self defense ability rather than a combat sport or fighting ability. I can make it work once in a while but it’s extremely circumstantial and can be very punishing. I hope to get to the level where I can make it work on demand tho.

It is not allowed to punch the face but it is allowed to throw the other guy, or push him out from the circle, or punch the body (which is protected), and kick as well. I've been doing taichi for 14 years, teaching it for a couple years now. It's a powerful passion that has so many benefits. If I ever get attacked, I'll use my kick boxing and grappling techniques and be a savage. Can't say taichi techniques cannot happen in a fight, I mean a lot of them are techniques that are in every other style, but the bottom line is I've never seen anybody do real sparring regularly using taichi. Push hands, although awesome, isn't sparring at all.

    I believe true Tai Chi practitioner would not mock other or challenge publicly. For those who did it has not known the true principle or essence of Tai Chi. Tai Chi alone would never claim as a martial art or anything but is Tai Chi. Neither in the Tai Chi teaching teaches to offend to prove yourself alone is better than others, but teach as a balancing force whether in action or speech. The moment you break the principle, you're not doing Tai Chi. People tweak and change Tai Chi so that they can self-glorify, is just rude.

    Your fight video is from Wu Lin Da Hui. They don't hit to the face in that one. It was advertised as a reality/martial arts fighting show featuring different traditional styles, but unfortunately it's hampered by a dumb ruleset that not only doesn't let you hit to the face, but they seem to be wearing some large body pad under those jackets. Also, the seasons are intra-style only, dashing my desire to see which is the stronger style, bajiquan or drunken boxing.

    He is a good performer and has decent breakfalls. In one where he is swept, you see him peek down to where he was going to land and execute a breakfall. You can tell he is targeting air when he throws his kick. And when his kick was caught he purposely threw it slow and targeted behind his opponents head so it was an easy grab and sweep of his planted leg.

Let's put it this way, what if you're a believer in God, or a high power, and a person comes in and tells you, with force, that God's not real, and he wants you to give him all possible reasons to prove that God is real. And if you can't, he'll mock you, bully you, tells the entire world that what you believe in is fake and you live a sorry fake life. How would you go about with this situation? Do you let this bully prove you wrong that everything you stand for is a waste of time? Or do you fight for what you believe in? Will you cave into this dictator and bow to him as he pees on your religion and tradition, or will you prove to him and 95% of the internet followers that what you believe in is not fake? Remember, Xu is picking on a very old traditional way of life and starting fights and stirring contradictions, and those people are just trying to live a peaceful life, only some have came to fight for their beliefs, sadly it is mainly old out of shape people. But that's my opinion.

      @jakubkalinamalina That's a common misconception. Sanda, as it is practiced today, has only been around since the 1970s, and even then it barely resembled what it is now. Sanda, like Dutch kickboxing and American kickboxing, was the product of learning and mixing techniques used in international kickboxing tournaments. It does not originate in any traditional Chinese martial art.
      It's true that the words are quite old, but the contemporary style itself has less than nothing to do with taiji, no more than Dutch kickboxing is based on ancient Dutch traditional martial arts. Pretty much all kickboxing, aside from Muay Thai, was created during and after the 1960s.

    • @elenchus
      @elenchus 5 лет назад

      @jakubkalinamalina "Sanda was developed in the early 1900's to train soldiers. The 1970's was simply the beginning of CIVILIAN sanda as well as standardized taolu, creating the two components of modern wushu."
      That's a common misconception. We can actually watch the development of sanda as the PRC started recording some of these matches from the '70s (and especially '80s) onward, as they, like many other nations, started to develop their own form of kickboxing based on what was learned in international kickboxing bouts. In the beginning it's basically karate, and through the '80s and '90s it starts to incorporate more Muay Thai and boxing.
      Anyway, no, it's conclusively known that the style we call sanda today did not exist before the 1970s.
      "The techniques of modern sanda are all taught in one kind of kung fu or another"
      I guess if you looked hard enough between the hundreds of styles of kung fu, but no, the modern incarnation of sanda is not much older than I am, and was directly imported from other nations. That's not a slam on the PRC, pretty much everyone was doing that. Americans developed American kickboxing, which was essentially karate kicks and Western boxing punches, Dutch kickboxing, which is the dominant style of kickboxing in MMA today (and usually what we mean when we just say kickboxing), started from karate and Western boxing, but added a lot of Muay Thai later--it's somewhere between American kickboxing and Muay Thai, stylistically. The style that started it all (kickboxing, that is), karate, developed the modern form of Japanese kickboxing in this era too, called kyokushin.
      The '60s was just this explosive time for striking, really the first time that countries from all over the world could meet up and figure out what worked. What the UFC did for MMA in the '90s, kickboxing did for striking in the '60s. It sent everyone back to the drawing board. The PRC was late to the party though, because interaction with the relevant countries in these fights didn't begin until the Nixon administration.
      The important thing is that sanda actually works. Propagandists and apologists can spend their lives trying to make sure we believe it's traditional kung fu (although they're not fooling anyone), but what's important is that people are learning a martial art that gets them to their goals. If they want to believe in fabricated histories, like that of wing chun for instance, that has no serious impact on whether the style works. If countries, like South Korea, need some historical revisionism to claim karate for themselves and rename it TKD, I'm not sure that's wise, but it ultimately doesn't matter. Lots of countries do it, and have done it recently. Sanda isn't even unique in this regard.

    This guy is in better shape than other challengers in the past, but I don't think he'll win. As a practitioner of both traditional internal Chinese arts (not Tai Chi) as well as Western boxing, here's the way I see it. Internal arts work when you're on the inside IF you do the proper training and you have the right strategy. That means full contact training, conditioning, and having a decent strategy like entries, feints, etc. The problem is most of these guys have no idea how to get on the inside and they also fight in a very defensive way. They do SO many drills where they just stand there, a guy throws a shitty punch holding his arm out there, and they react to it with 3 or 4 moves. That shit will never work and it will give you a false sense of security.
    We train in a more practical way, so we learn how to use the methods in real situations. For example, I might trigger the opponent with a feint. Then I may defend the first shot with a slip or sway back, parry, etc. Then I immediately come in with my attack. Once on the inside, that's where some of my other stuff will come into play. It's hard to explain it just with words, but this is the type of training you can do when sparring. How many of these guys train like this? I'd guess almost none and I doubt they train with people who know how to throw a decent punch. Hell I'm pretty sure that almost all of these guys can be taken out with a feint and an overhand right. I'll put money on that!
