    So pleased to hear you’ve winter sown echinacea! I have two packs of seeds I want to winter sow (first time for me), and I wasn’t sure if I could do that. I want a mass of them along a wall that runs the full length of our driveway, I already have heucheras along there, the echinacea will go in between. I’m excited to get started.

      Those will look great together! I'm curious if the echinacea will be a slow grower the first year. Time will tell!

    Good for you! Find your own way! After a couple of years saving jugs, I switched to ziplocks and touts. Works great for me 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱

    What a great idea! I have so many 4” pots from last year and I like that I can start a variety in on container.

    Thanks for listing your plants and where you got them - I’m an old grower but in a new construction garden. (We had amazing soil before!) and I had lots of perennials in my beds. I’m going to try and do cut flowers to give to friends and possibly sell?!? Excited!!

    Awesome video. Great flowers / herb starts for January!
    Like the storage container idea. Beats all the tape, strings and hassles of individual milk jugs!

      Check with Starbucks. Call them ahead of time and ask them to set them aside. I’ve done that before. You’ll just need to wash it out.

    Good luck. I’m looking forward to your update. I’m trying this for my first time this year in recycled food containers. Lakeshore ON. We have a nice microclimate with mostly mild winters but cold enough to turn the river into a racetrack. I’m going to try your method too. Nice video by the way. Thanks for sharing.

    Great job!!My first year wintersowing and I have solocups in storage bins and milk jugs. How do you plant Dusty Miller seeds!!. They are so small I'm afraid I may have over seeded most of them.

    I see different suggestions on sun or shade to keep the milk jugs in. Why do you do sun?

    • @backyardbeauty9283
      @backyardbeauty9283  2 года назад

      From what I've learned so far, sun is best, but you can always try shade and see how it goes! Happy Growing.

  • @BrittanyS143

    I'm in zone 6a Ohio. If my dirt freezes on the off nites it gets to freeze will it kill my seeds? If so are we to cover the jugs on any freeze nights.

    • @backyardbeauty9283
      @backyardbeauty9283  2 года назад +1

      Hi Brittany, Your seeds will be just fine. Don't cover them! I know it seems scary but snow, ice, and low temps will not hurt your seeds. One of the many wonderful aspects of winter sowing!
