    Thanks for visiting the Freshcutky organic gardening channel. In the garden, I will answer some of the most common "gardening for beginners" type questions I get, including growing flowers from seed. Growing greens, growing flowers, and planting beautiful organic food is something I'm really passionate about. Thank you for joining me as I learn to grow flowers, cut flowers, vegetables, and much more. Freshcutky youtube channel and related media are for entertainment purposes only.
    Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

    What is "@freshcutky"?
    @freshcutky documents the pursuit of my goal of one day owning my own cut flower farm. Along the way, you'll see random projects, cooking, and of course - growing stuff. I'm not an expert, and would never claim to be. There's always more to learn - this is my journey. The purpose of my blog, and other social media accounts (including RUclips) is to share ideas. I do my best to offer information that is useful, but reliance on that information is strictly at your own risk and NOT a substitute for professional advice of any kind. Winter sowing was successful on my first attempt in 2021. I actually planted 57 jugs of cool season annuals and some perennials. One thing I did was winter sow snapdragons and also plant some to put under grow lights. I enjoy your videos and hope that you can find your permanent garden space soon.

    Sending you and your garden happy thoughts! I have a bunch of columbine seeds that I'd love to send you if you have a PO box. I know you're limited on space though so if you can't grow 'em I understand.
    They're from my friends and family garden, where I grow flowers that I get as gifts. The Columbines are far and away the most special to me and they were so prolific this year I want to share them!
    One variety is from my parent's farmhouse, that grows a massive bouquet on one plant. It has pink/yellow doubles. Most people would know that one as Granny's Bonnet.
    My grandma gave me seeds out of her garden before she left for Arizona, they grew blue/white semi doubles and blue/white singles. The plants they came from were purple and yellow, but she had some white doubles too so I think they crossed.
    My church grandma gave me my two tallest varieties, they grow royal purple singles and a pale white single with green petal tips. I have a lot of seeds out of that white one, haha. that plant went crazy this year. They're probably all cross pollinated with each other, so I don't know what the offspring will look like. They drew in quite a spectacular show of hummingbirds and bumblebees and many of them did surprisingly well in flower arrangements.
    let me know if you want a mixed packet of them! I have literally so many I could never grow them all, haha!

    • @TONYAwiththeflowers
      @TONYAwiththeflowers  2 года назад

      That sounds lovely! Thank you so much for the kind offer. At this point, I'm not even sure if I have the room for half of the seeds that I bought! LOL! Happy gardening! :) :)

    Good to see ya again! 😄 Here in southern Kentucky and I’ve yet to winter sow! Feeling the pressure though lol I’m wondering if the upcoming mid 50s will affect them positively or negatively? This will be my second winter sowing, and I’ve SO many I’m starting 😄 Mostly perineal flowers and cold tolerant herbs. Stay safe this evening, not sure exactly where ya are in ky, but this evening will likely be a white out!
