Been religiously watching this build and am so impressed in the amount of detail you have put into this car. Haven't been a subscriber for very long but I love your content and look forward to seeing it in my RUclips feed. Keep up the amazing work man.
Congrats on the first start! BIG HYPE! Man is an absolute stud when it comes to his builds. Would love to bring my scooby to you to get some proper work done to it.
Its much better oem fans bro, they put a lot more cfm than the mishimotos wich is a chinese universal fans, trust me i learned the hard way to not use that fans, specially is the car runs with ac its going to overheat. The car its not going to run with ac, its supposed to work good If the weather is not too hot but oem are much better fans
Love the rx7! One thing to consider for the cooling fans. You might want to put some foam between the shroud and the radiator. Otherwise you will get a lot of air drawn thru those big gaps and less air thru the radiator.
YEEEESSSSS I cannot wait to watch this. RAMDOM UPDATE: i got the rear diff for the rx7, it was free. Also got a new one for my blown up f150. And i have designed a custom intake for the 12a.
Love watching your videos. My favorite thing to do is go to Bucees at midnight, grab a snack, and then park and watch your channel for a couple hours. I’ve learned a ton from you. I have a forester that I’ve done a ton of work to but I’ve been looking for a WRX for a long time and I’m pretty picky. Finally found my dream WRX. 2002 Bugeye sedan in wr blue. It looks well maintained and has 66,000 original miles on the trans and motor. It’s all stock as well but It has a blown turbo seal. Is that pretty straightforward to fix or is that evidence of hard driving and may mean there are probably other problems. Seems kinda low mileage for a blown turbo seal idk. If you read this thanks.
I would look into eventually buying some aluminum sheet and making your own fan shroud when you do the spals. Space them a tad further from the radiator surface. If you need ideas on how take a look at the ones sold on Flyin Miata. Even easier of a design for you with not having the inlet and outlets on the same side
Sounds very healthy. your killin it mate. Some would say to break in before hard ripping on to seat the seals on the rotors. That being said you would be amazed how stout they can be. After 2 years I can comfortably say there are not many others that can take abuse like the mazda/rotary platform. Remember a redline a day.
That intake manifold looks so much better than stock. Curious when you had the TB off. If you check to verify with the throttle linkage that the secondary plate fully opened at 100% throttle? Mine on my RX7R1 back in the day never did and some guys on the RX7 forum had the same issue. I did a custom throttle modification but unfortunately ended up selling the car before being able to test. If yours has the same issue, curious the direction you go with custom linkage to modify.
@@Smeedia All that cable assembly looks very nice, but I'm referring to the actual throttle linkage think of like old school carburetor where the primary kicks in and then it triggers the secondaries. A lot of the RX7s only opened up 80%. So you're losing top end HP.

I think I used JD Customs for the titanium hardware I bought for my Autech oil & gas caps. I could be wrong since it was about 5 years ago, but the branding looks familiar.
@@Smeedia Dude that shit looks spicy with the burnt Ti hardware instead of the like satin grey stock hardware that came on my caps. Really adds a kick to those dress up pieces ya know? To be fair I was trying to buy a fancy af Top Secret oil cap but somebody sniped me, so that was the next best thing. The Autech stuff is literally the same as the Nismo ones with a different name engraved in them.
Yeah, son!!! Good stuff, indeed. I knew it was some short to power thing with the fans. Oh well, upgrades overall. You should still be able to have honkers with the proper hub assembly. You got this brother. 💯💯💯
Tbh just getting in and doing it. I took all the HPA classes when I built my first engine harness. And the practical side of watching the classes does help for understanding how it works. But getting hands on is what really helped me to learn. Having the diagrams and understanding how to read them is HUGE
@@Smeedia thanks man! Pretty much what i have been doing as well. Just figured you might have found a good source. Ill start studying up wiring diagrams 🫡
brother, need you to pack up again and move CO. need me a master mechanic to teach me the ways. the start up was awesome to see. i am stoke for the finish
Sounds weird, I enjoy making hardlines. Maybe it was all my time working on diesals. And my experience with hardlining Rotory Turbo lines... you can really make it nice and clean that way with bookoo durability.
Comment 2: How do you stay motivated? I have been trying to get my lighting business amd youtube running for a while and just cant seem to keep myself on task. I have adhd aswell. I have to give a HUGE thanks to my client for being so patient and happy. It hasnt cost him a penny yet but it still sucks.
You said you plan on daily driving this car. I'd be worried about water getting into that upside down relay box you have under the front bumper. At a minimum I would say fill that wire hole with some silicone or similar, but I've heard even that isn't going to keep all water out of it.
Just a heads up, mishimoto fans kind of suck. I get why you switched to them since atleast they will work but considering how hot rotary engines run, you might have some overheating issues with those.
Start it for ten seconds lol. Gotta love the sound of compression as you build oil pressure. Strong! 💪
The sound in compression on rotary engine sounds so wild 😍
Never been so excited to watch a car get built. I found you because i love SUBIES but this has been a hell of a build. I CANT WAIT
Appreciate the continued support through the FD series 🥳 excited to get this thing fully wrapped up and get it driving again 💪
It is great to hear that engine start my guy and it sounds really good too!
Glad to see that it started up without effort on a fresh engine 🥳
Carbon hood would look good!!!
Thinking the same thing 😌
Dude that thing so clean!!!

Thank you and appreciate the support! This was my first time doing a full frame up resto in a car. Definitely won’t be the last. 🥳
FABULOUS ✨

This thing sounds amazing
I missed the rotary noises 🥰
Rotary noises!! Won't have to worry about mosquitoes for a while with the smoke. Stoked to hear it run.
I'm stoked to see this finished! It's so close. Best car channel on youtube

Holy crap dude. That sounds fucking wicked. IT'S ALIVE!!!!!
Right?! I wanna hear it once it’s all dialed in 😍
Its gonna scream! Its gonna be hard not to want to burn the tires off the thing. Do you have a name for this car yet?@Smeedia

I have a set of SPAL fans in the way, I really just needed the shroud. Also do not have AC in this thing 😅
A friend of mine used rx8 fans on his. Might be worth looking into in the future
I believe those are also two speed fans 👀 could use em but would have to rewire a decent bit 😅
I may have missed it, but when are you planning on doing the final sanding/polishing/buffing of the paint work?
This coming week 💪 excited to see it with the paint all cleaned up
Car is looking amazing , props for all the hard work
Brap brap brap!!!

I tossed some in there 🫡 the shroud came with enough to wrap the edges of it. 💪 make sure we can get as much airflow as possible 😅

It does open 100% 🫡 using a JP3 shorty throttle cable with it. The new linkage uses the cruise control location for the new cable

Figured hard-lines are the way to go with for the gates on this thing. With how hot everything gated. I’d expect normal lines to melt over time 😅
