I had my rack rebuilt and powder coated at this place in San Jose called Power Brake Exchange for 1/10th of what new old stock costs. There was also a place called Phoenix Rack and Axle that was pretty convenient. They sent you a box to pack your old rack in, and their turnaround was like 24 or 48 hours. My rack has been leak free for the last 5 years. Also, reminder that the US cars use rubber O-rings around the banjo bolt that goes into the rack, not copper crush washers.
@@dannythompson1948 Yeah. They have a location in Sacramento too. Power Brake Exchange recently rebuilt my brake booster and I had it powder coated satin black for a small upcharge and it looks brand new. Like absolutely sick.

On your water pump housing to the front plate. There's supposed to be a thin metal spacer with two holes that goes on the far left mounting points as they are slightly recessed. The water entry ports on the front iron slight stick out further. That spacer is super thin but necessary for a proper seal.
I got my rack for a Pontiac GTO rebuilt by turn 1. Turn around time wasn't great but been about 3 years and no issues. Showed up looking better than new.
I don’t know if it is because the racks are built different but I had mine steering rack rebuilt at the beginning of the season by my shop. Probably 10-15k kms so far and close to 50 laps at mosport and the rack is doing it’s job perfectly imo. Happy to see blu back 💪🏻
Honestly cant go wrong with any content love the rebuilds you do. Rx7 is part of that subaru family now it just belongs there. So keep the rx7 content coming
Good choice on lights. I liked having a half lift pop up projector kit on my 180SX. As for leaks... w/ synthetic oil you kinda gotta expect a touch of seepage from some areas. Just the nature of the engine.
TuNaH be Tuning! Yeah, the car is sounding fantastic on the street with the new plugs. What is likely happening is a bit of fuel slosh and we should talk about a surge tank setup. Even at half a tank they'll fuel starve at 400whp. Speaking of which... Give Ride-Alongs and ask folks how much power they think that car has. Rotary Power is some interesting mystical shit. MY 400whp seems to be a whole hell of a lot more than what some folks think 400whp is... 295 or wider Nitto NT05s are in your near future.
RX7 is fun and all but I'm so excited for the subaru to be in the spotlight again! and I can't wait to spend all of my savings on the rear bushing refresh from whiteline for mine........trying to justify $400 of bushings to my mom is fun
15:50 😂😂 dude I thought you were going to say “i can’t be too disappointed, I mean, I left her locked up all night by her self and it couldn’t go outside.”

Depower the rack, miata style. Might have to weld the pinion like on miatas to remove some slight play. This is better than a manual rack as you'll keep the steering ratio.
@ replace the bushings that center the rack gear internally should be fine they always waste the driver side one no idea why that’s just how they go I think it’s called a rack support bushing I really don’t know but the rack kit should be 2 seals 2 internal bushings and that’s it or run a depowered rack cause the ratio on the manual racks suck
Betty White for the win! I think she had a leaky rack too and some good headlights when younger. LOL. Rear engine on Blu interesting mod will you give it a rear bias torque split?
8:22 yes they do and it involves witchcraft lol. You need a special socket or grind one down. It sucks to grind down a socket but the plugs are nice. BR10EiX
hello Sir, as far as the rack goes, if it was me I would just spend the 2-3k and get new one. I just rebuilt my subi, and its like while I'm here do this and do that. Do it right the first time. Save money and time.
As far as that wire for linking it with the wiper motor, if i had to assume, would it probably allow the lights to automatically turn on when wipers are on? IDK if it mentioned anything like that in the product description but i mean there's features to allow automatic lights with wipers on since it is technically law to have lights on with wipers. Also are you gonna fabricate a frunk for Blu and still keep it somewhat practical up in the front LOL
That’s what I figured as well, it has an inline fuse in the wiper motor side. Thought it might just by a secondary 12v source as well. And yes and no, the front will have a fuel cell and V mount 😅
@@Smeedia gotcha, we don't use dyes in a aviation. Im guessing aviation oils have more addictives that makes it glow on its own. Id try pouring out some regular oil and seeing if it have that yellowish glow by itself before adding any types of additives
