I have always been fascinated by the political scenario of Bhutan, how the country has balanced the elected of government through constitutional monarchy with grace, always revering the Royal family, for whom I have huge respect, how Bhutan as a landlocked nation has ensured peace with all neighbouring countries and yet has carved out its own unique identity amidst a fragile geopolitical situation around, how Bhutan has always been forward thinking in matters of carbon footprint, preserving its culture, heritage and its ecology through certain tough measures, unpopular yet very essential for the country’s long term sustainability. I respect the Nation of Bhutan a lot, you have created an identity through all the constraints. Will look forward to watch this movie, and best wishes to all who have worked in the making of this.
Constitutional Monarchy is definitely the way to go. As an American, I've had a front row seat to exactly why letting your president create a cult of personality around himself is a bad idea. Let the King be the country's symbol, let the executive with the actual power be a humble civil servant without symbolic power or head of state status. Much smarter to separate the roles that way.
Brilliant !!! This film is as much relevant to Indian, as it is for Bhutan. It's very much contemporary and i wish it reaches to the masses than just travelling from festival to festival.
This is not the story of Bhutan but of the entire planet. I'm very glad Bhutan is conscious enough to prioritise happiness instead of fake metrics like GDP.
@@MrThistleMilk Errrr.....no. There are people who really think that GDP is indeed fake. And I did admit that it isnt always accurate in reflecting prosperity/happiness.
Happiness for whom? When people get more social benefits, also need to pay more tax, small business owners would have to break the law (like south Americans) or close (every socialism country has low business density). A matrix like GDP does not measure happiness or standers of living, but can indicate how poor a place is. There is no way to prioritize happiness as a strategy, only trade a value for another.
I saw the screening of this brilliant film last night in New York City and am so moved and thrilled that it was made. Incredible filmmaking and telling of the story and a great film as a result. Wishing Pawo and the crew the best of luck!
Wow- love it ! Pawo la touched another very important part of the history from your beautiful country . Looking impatiently forward to watch this movie and all the fantastic actors! ❣
I will watch it, please let me know where I can find it. I'm an Indian (Lucknow) and have always had this sense of brotherhood with Bhutan and north eastern states I don't know why! I have been reading about Butan culture for a while (along with Tibet, Burma and north eatsern states of India) and have always been fascinated by how a king himself pushes for democracy and more wholesome that subjects don't even want it. Best of luck to Bhutan film industry.
Wow, the technical aspect feels really good. A big improvement for Bhutanese movies. Lunana A Yak In A Classroom is a heart-warming movie. Can't wait to see this movie.
This is another second video from our greatness pawo and this movie says how talented you are. No industry have capacity like you. Keep up the good job la. And mostly I have loved your contents in movies since from yak in the classroom. Wish you and your team all the best for your coming projects. God bless you always.
I am a young tibetan .i went to watch with enthusiasm , nice film but the the thing they have killed tibetans with this gun, stayed in my head .It's something new to me. And it was stressed three times i think in the film.
Where can I watch this?! I would love to watch. I studied abroad in Bhutan years ago and am always trying to learn more. Such an amazing country and people 💛
The message of this film: Monk 1: "We live by an unbreakable Buddhist code of total pacifism." Monk 2: "Yeah - but guns are fucking great, though, aren't they?" Monk 1: "You're right. Let's go waste some motherfuckers!" Monk 2: "Kill! Kill! Kill!"
"The king has decided to abdicate so that Bhutan may become a Democracy." Buddhist Lama: "Tashi, I need guns. Things need to be made right again." - Hold on, where is THIS going? 🤣
I saw this at a film festival on Friday and went in totally blind and was utterly charmed by it. It was sweet, unexpectedly hilarious and beautiful
Honestly looks great. When does it drop in the US?
I'll be keeping an eye out for US release myself. Looks like the kind of movie I need right now with how disconnected I've been feeling
sounds like a great hidden gem

@@loganwolfram4216 Oh hell no.

Gdp...isnt fake.
It is, however, not always accurate in reflecting prosperity.
GDP is not a fake metric. It isn't a metric for determining happiness but a Country's financial power tbh.
@@eleethtahgra7182I think he's trying to say that GDP and wealth is not a measure of happiness and prosperity like how the rest of the world thinks

Why do the RUclips Tiles of a different video cover up the last 3rd of the trailer? Can't read the subtitles. Poorly uploaded
I really Hope BBS gonna purchase the rights to screen this movie on a television. Having to watch Shoddy Bhutanese movies on bbs 2 is beyond me.

As a Christian, I give this film 💯 with ❤ from our God Love -- God Who Is God In And Of God Self 🥰😍

I'm sure I'll end up seeing it, but I'm not sure what use an antique like that is unless it's symbolic, or everyone has one.
"Democracy is the worst form of government. But it is better than all the other forms of government out there."
Seriously, democracy blows but it's better than most other types of government systems out there.
I missed it at MAMI.... feeling bad.
Where can I watch this flip online
bro if you find it please reply
send me too
Wow! ❤
Wow love from 🇮🇳
I’d be impressed if there isn’t a single gun shot in this film. The art of preparation is more important than violence itself.
This movie is epic
Cool love to watch.india 🇮🇳
Nice.
Damn. Thought this was gonna be an action flick
Give the director the budget to make movies in India . Like Hollywood gives a budget to foreign directors who are popular from nearby countries
Good job 👏

This is not Saiyuki Reload Live Action I've expected

No disrespect but what type of Democracy is this movie talking about, I wonder. I hope this is not the type of Democracy from The Global West.
A Monk with an American heart 😂

The cover of the book disappointed you, I hope you get to watch the full movie and come back here and comment again 🙏😄
