- Welcome to the Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan! Thanks to Flying Fox Bhutan (www.flyingfoxbhutan.com) for giving me a 3 day tour around this beautiful kingdom. In my first episode, we learn about Bhutanese culture, visit the worlds largest sitting Buddha, see the national animal, Takin, visit a monastery for women, and check out the local markets of Thimphu. Stay tuned for more episodes to come!
Tucked away deep in the Himalayas, landlocked between the worlds two largest countries is the small kingdom of Bhutan. The land of Dragons. Boasting the worlds happiest people and surrounded by natural beauty this nation of less than a million people remains a mystery to most of the world. A complicated visa and expensive daily tourism fee makes it even more elusive. But the high value, low volume tourism model intrigued me allowing me to escape into this world of peace and brought back a sense of true discovery. This is day 1 of my 3 day adventure with Flying Fox Bhutan, and here’s how it went…

I’m watching from sri lanka….
Cool!! Im going to Bhutan sooon in next two weeks. Its nice to watch your video first get bit prepared
When i learn that Bhutan's state religion is Vajrayana Buddhism, then I believe this is a mystical country. Watching the beauty gives me an impression of its beauty. Indeed, it's beautiful.
It is beautiful. I hope you get to travel there and experience the culture
How can a country be “mystical”? It’s a star religion, meaning it’s concerns are governmental and political. It’s sociology, not mysticism.
@@space_eko Vajrayana Buddhism is the esoteric branch of Buddhism.
@@space_eko Vajrayana Buddhism is the highest form of Buddhism, associated with mystic power and secret / sacred knowledge and greatness. Also, a country is not it's government, but remember, a country is it's people!
Thanks for this opportunity to see Bután excellent Pure Place ❤
Thanks for watching!!
Very nice documentary...LOVED it...
Wonder why you play some ...shiva hindu song....🤔 and please please next time stop loud background music...couldn't here most of the things the guide was saying. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the feedback. I will work on sound mixing
Underrated RUclipsr. Keep it up sir
Thanks, will do!
i hope youtube algorithm reach tons tons tons of people thru his amazing lens 👌
Thanks me too!
Not many people know but India tried to gobble up Bhutan in the early 1990s but failed. Sikkim wasn't so lucky. Sikkim is a neighbor of Bhutan very much like Bhutan but even smaller. Sikkim was gobbled up by India in 1975. Sikkim was a neighbor of China for several hundreds of years. In the 18th century Sikkim was briefly overran by the Gurkhas and the Sikkimese king fled to China and asked for help. China at the time was at the height of its power and the Qianlong emperor sent an expedition force to expel the Gurkhas and restored Sikkim sovereignty and independence. Sikkim was left unmolested for the next several hundred years until it was gobbled up by India in 1975.
Free Sikkim.
Thanks for the history on the region. I also visited Sikkim which was beautiful
actually india is very greedy too. india was afraid china will claim sikkim area as part of china.
Honestly bhutan and sikkim are more like chinese than india peoples. they should claim pakistan, bangladesh and srilanka as part of india.
Just found this channel and love your travel vlog so much, please make some for my country Thailand and see you here ❤😊❤
Thanks for watching! I plan to return to Thailand early next year
@@thetravelingzam Yes thank you and hopefully to see you 😊😊😊
i cant wait to visit Bhutan this coming september
You’re going to love it!
I'll be featuring Bhutan soon 🎉
Oh nice on a RUclips video??
InsyAllah
🙏
Thank you for making a video on Bhutan but would have been nicer if you had played a Bhutanese song/music instead.
Do you know any Bhutanese royalty free music I could use for my next Bhutan video?
Lol Yeah. I was wondering why "namo shiva" which is a mantra to pray the Hindu god Shiva was playing when u r in an entirely different country visiting temples practicing a completely different religion. Also no hate directed towards u. Loved the video and thank you for sharing your beautiful visit❤
Good Morning Mom...Thanks NYPD
Thanks for watching!!
🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for watching!
It's great to see the beautiful country of Bhutan, but the background music doesn't suit well as all these are Indian devotion songs or instruments. When you are showing Bhutan, Bhutanese devotional songs or instruments will suit well. That is my suggestion.
Sorry for that. I will try to better pair music in the future
Green is the wind element
Thanks for sharing that
bhutan is just north of North Bengal
Yes. Another beautiful region
Although nice, its too difficult to tour there. Bhutan forced you to pay daily expensive fees and compulsory employ a tour guide and his costs too. There is no larger group tours allowed so the cost is very high. I rather go to other many countries with freedom of travel and far less unnecessary costs.
I agree it was very hard and expensive. Not often my travel style but was curious to see it as I was nearby in Bangladesh
@@thetravelingzam Yeah, time is ample then should give a try. The neigbouring countries are far cheaper although not my priority vacation places because been there for work and dont like my family to waste time on such places. Bhutan is far better than them but far more expensive and far less freedom.
dragon china
thanks!
Your videos are so amazing, i am watching with my all family members but we are watching this video is so beautiful. my all family members saying amazing videos but brother background music om nam shivay not belong to Buddhism if you have possible to change background music please change and update any budhh vandan or om mani padme hum
And My mother and grandmother saying to me subscribe your channel and like this video and comment beautiful videos making 🥰
Yes, we are all watching with the family
My mom said please subscribe, like, share and comment on his video he is doing great and she said we like and subscribe is most important to earn money
And please try if possible background music replace with any music
Thank you so much for watching and sharing with your family. Sorry about the music sincerely. I can’t fix on this video but changed the style for part two and three:

Thanks for subscribing!!
Can I have the tour agency/guide details?
Need to do more and proper research as I can see few wrong informations/interpretations. Hopping in next video…
Thanks for watching!! I tried my best to portray the information the I learn along the way from my tour operator. Hopefully most of it is helpful and accurate for prospective travelers.
a bit hypocritical to talk about carbon footprint and what not of Asian countries by people who are clearly from the West and contribute to a much larger footprint than any of the Asian countries he mentioned here
I wasn't criticizing anyone. I was applauding Bhutan for their god work on environmentalism and hopefully inspiring others.
I went to Bhutan in 2018 and it's one of the most beautiful places on earth! I will never forget it for as long as I live!
It was incredible! Glad you got to experience this unique place
the background music is indian classical music and bhutanese culture is totally different from indian
Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately it is really hard to find distinctly Bhutanese royalty free music to publish on RUclips. If you have any sources to recommend let me knwo
Bhutan culture different from Indian culture😂😂😂 I am very sorry to inform u brother but even the name of Bhutan is derived from Indian god, and even the Bhutan relegion also originated in India only infact all those temples are representing India's Bodhgaya and its story only(coming to the music I do agree that the music is hindu and he should not use buddist music)
@@Ranshcreates 🤣🤣🤣🤣 haha you are funny
shut up please @@Ranshcreates
@@Ranshcreates which Indian god did the name Bhutan derive from?
The background score Om Nama Shivay..I like it. Though the Buddhists would have preferred Om Mani Pe Meh Hum probably.. 😊
I can only use royalty free music unfortunately
@@thetravelingzamUnderstandable, but there must be some to choose that aren't devotional Hindu music. It's just a shame because it's such a lovely video but the music is quite cringy
You can simply chant om mani padmeham rather than play inappropriate music. or simply could hae used the Veena which you used effectively. @@thetravelingzam
it would be helpful to hear the people talk over the stock music in the background.
Which part of the video are you referring to?
Great video.
No doubt Bhutan is a beautiful country, but
what I appreciated and liked most is the choice of lovely colours ( not overly bright but gentle, pleasant colours) and architecture of the buildings!
I agree!
I was thrown off hearing Om Nama Shivay and Raghu Pati Raghav background score - Hindu religious music for Buddhist temple clips. Imagine mixing up Christianity, Islam or Judaism in a similar fashion. It would tick off western folks. Asia is not a monolith.
thanks for the feedback. I understand. I was using a limited supply of royalty free music and realize I messed up on the choice.
I would request everyone to read about nepalis in bhutan who were thrown out. Just search “ one country one people” .
Thanks for the additional resource
The BGM doesn't match the theme. You are visiting a Buddhist country and playing some other religious chant behind !
thanks for letting me know. I tried fixing that for part 1 and part 2
I don't know why is this video is soo underrated, Everything in this video is absolutely perfect the editing, cinematography and the color texture obviously don't talk too much only talking the informative stuffs I like that, Great work and keep it up man, and thanks giving up this kind of content 😊, ❤ from India🇮🇳
Wow, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Bhutan 🇧🇹our beautiful ❤️ neighbour, love 💕 from Bharat 🇮🇳
Neighbors indeed
It really breaks my heart to hear Hindu religious music played in your vlog here while you are in a Buddhist country. Great travel vlogs but you need to be respectful of religious elements / motifs while editing. Safe travel. With metta
thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately I didn't understand the language to know the lyrics. I will be more careful next time.
Nice Blog but Background music must be Om Pani madme Hum.... Not Om Namaniwaya!. Visiting Buddhist Temple but Hindu Chant? Offensive Music for all buddhist followers.
Sorry about that. I fixed it for part 2 and 3
He is showing Buddhist temples and Buddha statues. And he musicalized with the Mantra "om namah Shivaya". What is for the God Shiva, who is Hindu!🙄🙄🙄🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
I have very limited royalty free music. I will try to better pair the music for part 3. Thanks
Love the production quality of your videos, I'm from Bhutan living in America, miss those a lot.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the compliment! More Bhutan videos to come
But Rs1200 is expensive per day...
not planning to goback bhutan?
we tried to play a drinking game where we have to take a shot every time he used the word “beautiful” and couldn’t make it past the 10 minute mark…perhaps he can expand his vocabulary a bit?
Thanks for watching! I,lol travel with a thesaurus next time

The Hell and the Nivana (Heaven) are known very well by the lord Buddh. He taught about them to the human being
Thanks for sharing!
I love my country Bhutan ❤️❤️❤️
I loved visiting. Thank you
Yes you are lucky
An amazing video! Surprised your channel hasn’t blown up! Keep up the amazing work :)
hopefully some day!
Beautiful footage. A little confused by some of the music... Om namah Shiva in a Buddhist country, but that's ok!
Thanks for the feedback on the music
Great video! What time of the year were you there? We are planning a trip in late November
I was there in April of 2023. Really nice time of year
Why this music? It has nothing to do with Buddhism or Bhutan! And before you say you couldn’t find Bhutanese music, so means you would put Indian music? Might as well out Chinese music then? Is it all the same to you??
The music you have put is Hindu mantras and Indian classical music!
Thanks for letting me know. I will try to better pair the music in the future
8:9:2023(12:38)
The Dahma. the litreature and the knowledge are known very well by the living being
I would love to learn more
May I know which camera you use for capturing these scenic views please???
They are all listed in the description. But mostly Canon R6 and DJI pocket

There are merit and demerit. A person who has only got wisdom can kill or avoide demerit
Nicely put
Watching your wonderful video, I felt like I lost the concept of time. The scenery must be the same as it used to be.I post solo trips on trains and ferries in Japan on my RUclips channel. Your video angles are very good! How to make your video is very helpful. Thank you for the very nice video.
Thanks for the kind comment! I am glad you enjoyed it! I am actually headed to Japan tomorrow so I will subscribe to your channel!
I hope to give more vlog and cinematography tutorials later on on the channel
You're coming to Japan! What a wonderful timing to come to Japan the day after you commented! I also subscribed to your RUclips channel. i look forward to your video.@@thetravelingzam

Good opening. Good music. Like to many others. To much face time. Is it about Bhutan or your face..?
It’s a travel vlog so it’s purpose is to show you how a traveler experiences the place. I will also make a cinematic version that focuses on the visuals, but less helpful to aspiring travelers
Greet video
i also have a dream to tour to Bhutan, one day I will do the journey to Dragon kingdom. Your presentation is pretty informative.
Thanks I hope this video can inspire and inform and hope you make the dream trip soon!
The most ideal country I have ever seen 🔥
its pretty close to perfect
And they have a huge population of political prisoners that you don't hear about that live under torturous conditions. It's not exactly the happiest place
Interesting. Thanks for sharing
Amazing, I found your channel from the Kuwait video but exploring your other content now, good job!
Thanks for exploring the channel and glad you like the videos! Just finished up 9 months of travel so many more videos and places coming soon!!
At over 100 usd a day as a tourist fee not worth visiting. They need aid money from the usa and tourist worst then we need them. Cancel aid to thier country from America is what I'll be calling my congressman about on tues.
Oh wow very interesting. Yeah it made it very hard to get there
do they have starbucks, mcdonalds, subway, kfc?
No there were hardly any chains. Very authentic
Wow! Great video good job! All the way from Houston Texas 🐲🕉☸️☮️☯️✝️❤️😎🇺🇸🌍

China try to occupied this country like tibet;l love u BHUTAN❤
Thanks for watching
You are in a buddhist country and having Hindu chanting on the back ground. better do some homework.
So sorry. I corrected it for my part two and three
Wrong mantras in the background shiva has nothing to do with buddhism ( well maybe he has but not in this realm )
Thanks for the correction. I tried to find better music for part 2 and 3
Beautiful Country!
Agreed!
What is a "Moutann"?? Is that Like "Kitanns" or Curanns"?? Please Explain!!
What is the context?
Great coverage including the cultural places, people and hotels
Thanks! Wait until the next ones in the series!!
Bhutan is collecting 1200 per person per visitor from Indian visitors and made mandatory like travel, guide, stay, which is not good. Otherwise it is beautiful nation and pure heart people.
Yes, you are right. It is not a budget friendly place, but the reduction in cooling of tourists is nice
The choice of background music could have been better though…
I agree. Fixed it for parts two and three
How exciting and mystical
Yeah very magical plce
What a documentary; and the quality of the video is so impressive I'm sure this channel will blow up.❤
Wow, thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
Can you share expenses breakup?

Beatiful country🌻🌷🌷🌼🌼🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌹🌹
It absolutely was
Thanks ❤
You're welcome 😊
I would just love to go there. Thank you for this video.
Thanks I hope you make it there!!
Awesome video. I've always wanted to visit but the prices are so high to travel to Bhutan that I hadn't - thanks for the vicarious joy of visiting Bhutan!
My only quibble was the choice of background music for part of the video. the chant (om namah shivaya) is decidedly Hindu (a religion I practice) even though the visuals are Buddhist. Wish you'd picked a Buddhist chant / religious music - would've added to the narrative.
It is! I do believe they have decreased the price slightly since I have been there but still makes it tough to visit for most people :/
Agree it is a beautiful video and absolutely agree on the music choice bit! Nothing to do with Bhutan and threw me off a tad. So much so that I was sure someone had picked this up in the comments too, so I made a Control + F search on the page with "music" and, sure enough, here is your comment! Pity because the video, except for that, is praiseworthy.
$200/day is what you gotta pay to visit this Las Vegas (not)like country . I was trying to figure out the spiritualism in that business transaction and I had admire these guys' business acumen . Brilliant! capitalism at its best. Please don't say it ain't so.
It is a tough part to understand and unfortunately puts the country out of reach for many people. In theory it decreases tourism allowing the place to not be over run with tourists making it more sustainable but I agree it’s steep :/
@@thetravelingzam I also agree that this country would be destroyed by rampant tourism .Heck , the summit of Mount Everest resembles a popular bistro with commercial climbers entering the trade.
You travelled in a Buddhist country, made a video but used back ground music of Om Namah Shivay, that is very stupid thing.
I apologize
Jai bheem jai meme tujhe dikkat kyun hua be 😂

How much does it cost for the tour guide for 3 days? includes transport as well?
Roughly $1500. That includes the daily tourism fee which is almost $200 a day
So you mean it is USD300 per day for the tips to tour guide and driver? That is incredibly generous!
