Think of how powerful Buddhism must be when a nation of billions with an army and navy sees a peaceful group of monks teaching kindness, as a threat. I bet u could visit every country and religion but this one would stick with u a lifetime
Would be nice, but the Chinese simply clubbed them down. Buddhism also adapted self-defense; why? Because the example of people who work on their own character, striving for enlightenment, often stirs up the aggression of others who connect their suffering with being evil. It is because they believe that doing violence to others will bring them relief, not knowing it makes things worse. This is why the techniques of liberation have been kept secret. This is why meditation was given to chosen disciples who first of all were trained in compassion, patience, and resilience. The masters took care of them.
China doesn’t see it as a threat, just so that they can lord over it for territory gains. People are misled by propaganda, on both sides. The original Tibetan leaders are no better themselves. It’s a medieval feudalism before communism took over, with abject poverty.

From the award winning book, A History of Modern tibet,1913-1951:The Demise of the Lamaist state by Professor Melvyn Goldenstein, "Serfdom was the foundation of the manorial estate system and for the political and monastic system. It was an efficient system of economic exploitation that guaranteed to the country's religious and secular elites a permanent and secure labor force to cultivate their land holdings without burdening them either with any direct day-to-day responsibility for the serfs' subsistence or with the need to compete for labor in a market context."
That's a pretty judgemental statement, (Presumed) Westerner. I don't think even the Dalai Lama defends the former system, which did, indeed, exploit the labor of ordinary, faithful Tibetans. Simply attributing any critique of earlier periods of Tibetan history to the 'Western Mind', is black-and-white thinking, IMHO. The fact that the Chinese system was worse doesn't make the earlier system flawless. Two wrongs don't make a right. The Chinese are, at this very moment, exterminating the culture of the Muslim Uighurs in a similarly-brutal manner. Few are calling attention to this. Possibly since those people are Muslims and viewed as less deserving of human rights. Possibly because there's no money to be made on tourism the same way there is with Tibetan Buddhism.
This saddens me, but also gives me hope. Please keep spreading awareness of this . Hopefully the world will one day help aid Tibet in getting its freedoms back.

Thanks for your wonderful documentary. You did great job of showing Tibetan’s Rich, culture, tradition and our sufferings under ccp’s oppression and destruction
Thank you John Bush 🙏for sharing this video its just so beautifully explained, may God bless You! 🙏
Yes, Free Tibet and free the world to know Tibetan Buddhism.
Don't get yourself caught in the realm of Tibetan mystics. Lifetime never ending praying who give the support if not for the generosity of the donors. In time Tibetans in China will modernize and prosper without keep seeking aids from others than those in Dharamsala.

[23:04] Tibetan mandalas guide the practitioner on a journey into the inner sanctum of a meditation deity. The 'mandala' is a luminous mirror, inspiring one to see the sacred space within and the circular unity without.
Thank you for sharing the richness of the Tibetan culture.
Every tribe around the world has been blessed and also survived the many abuses of those who take over their lands dividing everyone and forced to flee for survival.
May there be peace, love, understanding each other despite our differences. Although, we’re all connected as one.

What a mesmerizing documentary ❤️
Marvelous 👏👏
Thank you so much. We born in India so when we see our country, its so sad. When China ccp will change a good human being and well being think a about others. At last there is three Jewels GOD is there, looking above from the SKY. So ccp be gentle and learn good from others nice countries. At last we all have to die. So now be changed.❤
Thanks for this inspiring documentary.
I am grateful to you all.
From the award winning book, A History of Modern tibet,1913-1951:The Demise of the Lamaist state by Professor Melvyn Goldenstein,
"Serfdom was the foundation of the manorial estate system and for the political and monastic system. It was an efficient system of economic exploitation that guaranteed to the country's religious and secular elites a permanent and secure labor force to cultivate their land holdings without burdening them either with any direct day-to-day responsibility for the serfs' subsistence or with the need to compete for labor in a market context."
Om Mani Padme Hum
May all beeing be free of hatred, aversion, ignorance, desire and oppression.
Thank you John Bush for this precious documentary on a beautiful people, culture and the enduring great wisdom of the Dharma. Long life and good health to the Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyasto! 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
My eyes fill with tears still waiting to go back to my country Tibet.
Which country are you staying brother?
Initial release: 2006
The other parts of the documentary are “Dharma River” and “Prajna Earth.”
@jejj THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE INFO. BLESS YOU... Dissa
What is happening 8n Tibet is very similar to what is happening to American Natives. The struggle to maintain a spiritual culture in every area is real.
Americans can not look at China as evil and cruel when the annihilation of buffalo and the origional people here is just as heartbreakingly horrible.
My heart feals the suffering and struggle for hope.
May the Dreams and Aspiration of Tibetans come True ✨️
I own this on dvd and watch it often!
Long live the Dalai Lama and free Tibet
May Tibet be free again form chinese prejudice and regain their sovereignty.
It is destined that Tibet come under China jurisdiction to modernize and get prosperous without never ending seeking aids from others.
