Having lived all my life (64 yrs) fifty miles from the Gulf of Mexico, we've gone through that prep, hunker down, pray for the best, many many times. We are blessed to have only had one very direct hit including nine days without power. Thankful all is well for you.
We don’t need “cows flying by” we get enough of that (figuratively speaking) in the normal news. What we need is calm, relaxed stories from a person who has figured out how to enjoy the simple life. Keep it up.
Be very thankful it passed and did no more damage than what it did. I love what you've done with the place. An the videos are icing on the cake. I'll always remember the back porch demolition.😂👍
Very happy to see that Lee did no damage to your beautiful cabin. Slim! Here on the East Coast in the USA, it was pretty much uneventful, too. I feel bad for those who did have damage and lost power. Not so much for those who panicked and bought up all the milk, bread, eggs and toilet paper, leaving shelves bare 😅. That hurricane stew looked very hearty & delicious 😋 Take care Slim.
Glad to hear you didn't have any damage from it. At the same time, with all of the camping you do, you're already far better prepared than anyone. I lost my home to Hurricane Ian just about a year ago (9/28/2022). It's still standing, but progress is very slow. We still can't get enough qualified contractors to do the work here. At this point there's power, non-potable water, and elevators. No communications, and no fire alarm. The last item there being what is preventing us from moving back in.
Slim, you lead such an exciting life. You are so calming to watch and listen to. Rather have the peaceful evening than reports of destruction. Enjoy the week. Blessings
Omg .........Lol, lol ......the concoctions you come up with for your supper never ceases to amaze me ! You should do a cook book ! ....................Well, maybe not !
It's good to see the Lee treated you and the rest of NS kindly. You just never know, and when it comes to hurricanes, it's always best to be prepared. Take care.
Seeing your practical and pragmatic approach to securing your cabin and yourself against a potentially damaging storm was a great way to showcase the importance of being prepared. Although you suffered no catastrophic damage, you were presented with a perfect opportunity to see how your cabin would fare should a future storm not be so kind. Watching you move about your comfortable and beautifully appointed cabin was a treat. I couldn't help but think back to the derelict wreck of a mess you started with. The transformation is incredible. All the more because it came about through your own vision, hard work and perseverance. Bravo to you sir and your obvious enjoyment of the fruits of your labor!
Good day Slim! 😊🍺 Love your dishwasher, best kind ever. Enjoy the pitter patter of soothing sound of the rain, and the cool refreshing beer. Take care. See you next time!
What a difference a year and a hurricane it was !!! I remember last years hurricane when you were in your trailer getting blown about. No worries...Great video...God Bless !
I am very relieved, that you had no exciting vlog to share! Glad all is well! Very nice relaxing video! Thanks! FYI the cabin looks very cozy! Love what you have done!
Try leaving the skin on the potatoes, wash 'em up. That's where all the nutrients are, and it adds more mouth feel to your meal. Glad you're all right. JM
Cap'n Rick, Port of Lewes, Delaware, Wednesday/ Thursday we had 30 mph winds and 10 ft waves coming onshore. Camped out at Assa Tigue National Park in Maryland with all the horses trotting thru our camp site.!
Glad Lee didn't keep it together and that tree wasn't near anyone or anything. Looks like your drainage had a reasonable test and adjustments weren't too difficult.
So glad you weren't effected by that hurricane Slim, our weather here is considerably mild for the most part, so I can only imagine. Your kitchen looks the part, very rustic and practical; perfect for a cabin.
I'm so impressed with all you have done on your cabin, it looks wonderful and you seem to know so much about how to survive out there in the wilderness. I admire all you have done to make the cabin so liveable, comfortable and cozy, I would love to have one just like it. The view from the deck is to die for. Lucky man.
❤So peaceful and calm. I love listening to rain on the roof I would have been sound to sleep. 5hanks very calming and relaxing. This came out on the 18th. 💕 💕
Glad to see you came through Lee unscathed, I consider myself lucky as well, lots of wind and some rain but nothing to write home about, I was surprised tho that my power stayed on throughout the somewhat storm here in Halifax, all in all storm chips were not needed and youtube kept running....lol
Even though the storm was mild and no cows were flying your video was as enjoyable as any other ones from you. Glad you are safe and the cabin didn’t suffer any damages. Waiting patiently for your next video
You were lucky Slim! I've been through every hurricane since 1961 in Florida. I remember salt water being on my Grandparents property close to the old airport on US 41 in Miami, now I think it's Florida International University, which is pretty far inland from the beach by 8 miles, but I was a lil kid the last time I saw that house in 73. But if a hurricane hit anywhere on the peninsula we were in it. You escaped pretty easily with just rain. Happy trails and safe travels to you
Not going to lie. Husband and I said several times we hoped you and some other YTers were making out ok during the storm. You were lucky, and glad for that. Really like the kitchen, all you need. 🙂👍
Hey Slim, glad the area didn't get too much. I believe that have that same knife! Give it a bit of 'wet stone' love and she's good for next time. You won't find another like it. Soup looks great. NB is home and I appreciate your appreciation of the woods, waters and nature. Thank you. I will say this one thing, can't say as I have ever (not seen others) snip beans with scissors. Just a gentle tug and the next one's can grow.
You are like a modern day Mr. Rogers for adults. Relaxing, educational, interesting! 🌂💕
So true!
I would like slim to be my neighbor.
👍😊
Yes! I love your nature narratives.
So true! 😄
Everybody loves a good hurricane stew thanks slim thanks for sharing
"Not Bruce Lee. More like Sarah Lee". Love it.
A " Sarah Lee " hurricane is a good hurricane . I love the rain . It would be a beautiful day to me in a cozy cabin . That would be my happy place .
Cabin is looking so cozy and a great place to hunker down in a storm.
You are THERAPEUTIC ! 👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
😂 😂 A cozy rainy night in the cabin with Chef John Waters and his Tomato soup con lettuce & potatoes 😋. ❤❤❤❤
That Hurricane Stew actually looked great after it was done! Amazing!.👍
Soup on a rainy night....perfect.
There's no flying cows, but you're defiantly a wizard at making life beautiful. Thanks Slim! ❤
Your cabin kitchen looks great! Thats the epitome of cozyness....a cabin in the woods, hurricane soup, and rain on the roof...my idea of heaven 😊
Calm is generally good. Keep the good stuff coming.
Cabin looks great Slim. Honestly I'm glad no livestock was flying by your cabin. It was a relaxing video.
I so enjoy your sense of humor Slim! Comparing a storm to fluffy pancakes, talking about cows flying around... Priceless! 😂
It turned out nice that you were able to re-route the rain water under somewhat calm conditions.
Its awesome your cabin kitchen is like the kitchen in your camper.
Glad you made it thru unscathed.

We are close to cedar key...we were lucky in our area
You are an artist with words… and a hammer! Never miss a show EVER!!!!
Love the dishwasher.
Glad you didn't get much weather to worry about.

The John Waters reference was fabulous
Your cooking methods and choices are a great addition. What’s the word? “unpretentious”, your watchword.
Be very thankful it passed and did no more damage than what it did.

I love hurricanes. They equal $$ for me. I've been riding them out for 25 years, and haven't flinched. Bring it!
