Bob, thank you for sharing your story. Mental health should be something we should talk about as freely as physical health. Your life has touched so many, and I know sharing your story will also touch many who are silently suffering.

    Thank-you, Bob.
I've been an voracious follower of yours, gleaning every bit of knowledge from you that I can.
You've made statements about how you need to be alone..... and yes, at those times you do.
Hearing your deepest truth humbled me.
There is no way to readjust to such a loss.
All of those times when you asked, "Why can't I leave?"
Yes, it took a little while and now you know.
The majority of those in your audience are here by necessity and had no point of reference of how to pull it off until they found you on RUclips.
You needed RUclips to reach all of these folks, including me.
You needed your period of adjustment so you can tell others that it takes a period of adjustment, after each loss, to find a purpose.
You found yours and touched thousands of lives.
One of the greatest things you have done is to remove the stigma of being homeless and living in a vehicle.
    Thank-you, Bob.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Mr Wells most people don't want to or know how to talk about the people left behind after a loved one commits suicide but you did a fantastic job. My mom commited suicide and I go through severe depression. I feel your message was sent for me to hear because believe it or not I started watching your videos during one of my depressed moments and I have been following you every since. I probably will never be able to afford to buy a van but when I watch your videos I feel like I have been on vacation and it gives me a sense of peace. Sorry for rambling but I had to let you know how much I appreciate you sharing your life 🙏🏿

Bob is a good and concise speaker. Has he thought about doing a Ted Talk? (I don't know if Ted Talks pay anything, but that's neither here nor there.) Depression has been in my life in myself and loved ones, and in another video Bob said do everything you can to think about others and not yourself. Depression tricks you into navel gazing and so yes; working on anything (anything!) outside oneself is the answer.

even if your own life is a mess ,if you are able to help someone else in some way to manage there life or be happier you have done something profound. My step dad was bi polar/manic depressive, I grew up seeing(experiencing) his struggle , despite the fact that he was sometimes very hard to be around his overall influence was still good, I love him very much, he taught be many things and some of the best parts of my personality came from him. he is in his late 60's now and somehow has very much leveled off , he is pretty content in life and doesnt have such huge swings anymore. he is a really good man that I love dearly and I love the aspects of myself and interests I gained from him.

You were able to create these beautiful things which enhance the lives, experiences and confidence of countless people, Cheap RV Living and the Homes On Wheels Alliance.
In doing so, you have given people hope where none may have existed and have enabled them to overcome something which they were previously unable to see their way through!

So glad you are still here Bob. Your videos have changed the lives of many including mine. I'm a 26 year old who has had battled anxiety and depression my whole life. I describe it just they way you did, not mopey and sad but definitely not happy. Ive talk to my doctors of course and have never let it take full control but really just having someone like you be so open about how they feel and have felt, is such a boost knowing Im not alone in the way I have felt. Im not on the road yet but I bought a van in October for a hell of a good deal I think just repairing the body work on it so I can finish the rest of the build on the inside and hit the road this summer. Thanks for everything you and everyone that helps this channel operate do.

I stumbled across your RUclips channel a few months ago when I was day dreaming (for the thousandth time) about van life. I get so excited whenever I see you have uploaded a new video and have learned so much though your channel-especially through your interviews/RV tours. You’re an excellent interviewer and I love that you interview all kinds of people and give us a little glimpse of their story.
I’m happy you had the courage to share your own story and struggle with mental health. I can’t even begin to image the pain you felt losing your son, and all of the other struggles that were compounding at that point in your life, but I am so grateful that your friend came in at the right time to help you begin to cope and heal.
I thank you for choosing life, for sharing your story, and for creating this amazing RUclips channel that has brought me so much joy!

Very touching, dear Bob. I honor your healing process because it brought you to the man that you now are, compassionate, infinitely kind, honorable, deep thinker, respectful, generous, unpretentious. In working for others, you've been healed yourself. Loved when you said that being out in nature brought you so much joy. I totally agree. Nothing can compete with the beauty, majesty and awesomeness of God's creation reflected in nature and in our smiling faces, all warmly smiling back, loving you.

Sometimes I look back and realize that I had long periods of depressions that I did not recognize as depression - I just knew that I was not particularly happy. The older I get, the happier I am. I think that I live my life more on my own terms, which helps a lot.

I'm glad you were spared and you were able to listen to your Higher Power. Your life has become a life of service to to others and I am sure that your Higher Power is pleased with the man you have become. I can also tell you enjoy what you do and that you enjoy your unconventional life.
You have endured the life trauma that I have often wondered how people can come back from something that devastating. My brother committed suicide (BPD) at age 37 leaving 3 small children behind. The devastation of losing someone to suicide is so far reaching that I think that when they are in that dark place there is no way they can see how far those ripples will go. I too have been in the position of thinking that is the only answer and how much better off everyone would be without me, and that it was the only way to stop the pain. But I continued putting one foot in front of the other until my head cleared and I realized that it was not the answer. I remembered the devastation everyone felt with my brother.
Thank you for sharing that very personal part of your life and I am sure your testimony as well as you your years of working with other nomads or those wanting to be nomads has saved many a life.
God bless you, Bob, and may he continue to richly bless you.

That man was sent from above although neither of you knew it. Without you Bob, gosh hard ro say that this community would have come to life like it did. I'm so sorry for your loss. Your brave to share so candidly and from the heart. I don't know you, I'm 62 and been quite ill for 8 years, always have helped others and now I can't really. Like you said hard to find purpose. So because of lack of funds and I've never been nailed down anywhere, always loved the road, I hope to see you on the trail. Scared to death of the Build, not the drive. Asking God for help to fiqure that one out. Hoping the boarders are open, I'm in Canada and wouldn't like winter in a van so much but necessity calls. I'm pretty miserable right now, but believe a change is as good as anything. Blessings. Cheryl

Thank you Bob, you are a huge inspiration! I found the courage to travel alone cross country to the RTR and caravans, and loved it - because Spirit spoke to me through you. May we all listen to that same loving voice within, and discover our own beautiful way of giving.

Oh, Bob, I'm so very, very sorry about your son! I cannot even begin to imagine going through that.
I'm shocked how many people I now know whose children have committed suicide, including a close cousin, and a close friend of my brother's. It seems to be an epidemic in the children of our generation - a truly terrible one.
I'm so glad you've found a new reason to live, though. Helping others *is* the way through depression, to that I can also personally attest.
Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm very grateful you are still here, sharing your knowledge, which is likely to help *me* survive in the likely not very distant future. I do hope we can eventually meet, but even if we never do, I respect and admire you and what you have built and continue to do to help others. May you continue to find purpose and meaning in your life.
    Wendy

I have not been suicidal, per se, but I was the "living dead" while being severely depressed, losing several years to it and what you said about your dog resonates with me. If it wasn't for my dogs and cats, I would've lived much more poorly, as it was them that got me up and moving day-by-day through the worst of it all. Thank you for sharing your story and yourself to us. It means more than words could ever explain. 💗
