For those of you who is wondering what is the name of music used in the beginning of the video it's Ambulo - In Orbit
you prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been watching with my brother for the last couple of months =)
@Gannon Graysen definitely, I've been watching on InstaFlixxer for since november myself =)
One of the best tree tutorials.
I needed this tutorial. Thank you!
This is the best tutorial for trees, thank you so much
This really helped me a lot💓
Keep it up
u really helped me a lot..great and amazing teacher u r plz carry on like this..will always support u sir...love from INDIA
I have been making trees the hard way, I had no idea about this add-on, I wonder what else I am doing the hard way, :D thanks
Awesome tutorials!
intuitive tutorial ! thank you
EXCELLENT tutorial! THank you!!!
awesome tutorial! thank you
Love your teaching style! I find the speed of your voice/ the volume and chill music choice relaxing and it make it easier for me to pay attention/ learn. Do you have an instagram or facebook?
Hi, thank you for your nice words :). Currently, I don't have any platform other than youtube. But that might change soon.
love it. thanks!
Awesome like always ;)
Awesome!
The tracing part was so helpful!
For some reason, I was using a plane across the entire leaf, then subdividing and shaping... what a mess...
Thank you!
GREAT TUT'S
For the leaf cutout you could also import the img as a plane and then use the knife tool to cut it out, it would had been faster.
or just keep it as a plane, and add subdivisions to the plane for extra shape to it. its unnecessary to do it this way, especially in games
This is great!
Thanks :D
Thanks for this tutorial. I was wondering what your render settings were/any lighting changes that were done for the final product?
Hi, I didn't do anything "great" for the render. I think I just used an HDRI and the default render parameters.
Merci beaucoup !
Thanks.❤😊
How do it Maya style Lattice based wind animation for leaf &
How do it Bendy 3 axis leaf body rig with realistic weight paint balance.
tnx bro you help me to much
very good tutorial but i cant get the leaf colors to change for some reason they are grey
how to make those leaves to wave, like having a wind effect?
Wait it can't be that easy?...u are god
noice....👌
This is pretty good but one problem i have is that the leaves will not rotate and they are all sticking straight up
How do u get the sapling tree gen addon
how can i convert the leaves to a mesh?
can you make a tutorial for making forest with this tree you have made
i think we use the particle hair system but i don't understand how its work
so can you make this, if it's possible
thanks for tuto btw
Hi, I can have a look at it. Thanks for the idea :D
This is something I would like to see aswell!
I'm assuming this works for alpha cutoff/blend leaves as well..
Seems like the transparency you added for the leaves doesnt play nice in Eevee, unless its just something weird I have done? Still looks pretty good in Eevee without the transparency though!
Thanks for a nice straight forwards tut :)
yes, he changed the render to cycles instead of Eevee. I think that is why
how to show again the panel for sampling add tree. I accidentally close it.
when i do like him in the video add .curve. i dont see tree gen?? is it normal ?
I have a problem, when I want to reunite the trunk with the leaves the texture of the wood changes me and becomes flat and the color solid, how do I solve it?
What is the polycount for something like this? Looking for lower poly for in game engines and I am curious what this is at
The polycount is pretty much the number of leaves. So in my case I was looking at around 10,000 faces
my leaf emit light, how to reduce it.? please help
Really awesome tutorial, i love it! but how can i duplicate this tree? always that i do that the leaves dosn't appears
I’m a noob at blender but I think you can select everything by selecting the trunk then shift and select the leaves then go to object and press duplicate objects or shift d.
I like this style and I followed your tutorial to make the tree. Lovely. I tried to use particle system to make a forest but all leaves disappear. Would you please advise? Thank you
Hi, you have to make the leaf-instances real. I showed this later in the video. And thanks for the feedback.
@@JonathanKron already watched your new video and would follow your method
You voice sounds sweet.
I know the model itself would import into unity but how much of the shader would be imported to unity. would the translucent shader be applied for example?
from my experience I have always had to redo/adjust shaders. my models always import with basic materials with only the color staying, if there was an image texture I always have to add that again. Would also love to know if anyone knows of a way to maybe transfer some blender shaders into unity. I know basic render pipeline has a completely alien shader system, usually use the URP where at least i kinda understand how to make shaders xD
Can you bring these into unity as is?
pls help.... blender wont allow me to use my leaf as an object... yes i tried duplifaces
I noticed when exporting to Unity that only one face of the foliage was being rendered, I guess the backface culling was off.
How can I fix it in Blender, so that the export of Blender renders both sides of the leaves and not only one side?
I think that has something to do with Unity and its shaders, maybe this post can help: answers.unity.com/questions/940364/imported-blender-files-only-showing-one-side-of-a.html
@@JonathanKron ah ok, thanks a lot!
I though it was something that needed to be fixed in blender it self.
is there any way i can get rid of the leaf on the bottom of the trunk?
This leaf will not show up in the render. It's only the instanced object. If you want to get rid of it (also in viewport) you'll have to convert all leaves to real geometries and then delete it (Ctrl + a -> make instances real)
i think i'm the lone one who don't understand how to split the screen a 4.35!! and make all this nods like unreal !!
is it possible to bend the trunk to create a bonsai?
When you create the tree it's a curve object. So if there are no settings in the create panel to bend it you can still bend it manually
I don’t like using add-ons and stuff, I refuse to not do everything by myself because then I can’t say that I fully made the game by myself, I only use Unity and Bolt visual scripting
Awsome thank you!
(You sound German)
Thanks, and yes I'm German :)
Can you send plugin ? (Sapling Tree Gen.)
It comes shipped with Blender. You don't have to install it
Hello, how to convert leaves for mesh? TY
Ctrl + a -> make instances real
@@JonathanKron Very thanks
After I create the material and add it to the leaves, they have no color. But the weird squares we've removed have color...
Change material of the original leave, not the generated
@@SolightOPs Thank you so much! This saved a ton of time for me
how would i export this to godot?
Hi, you'll have to first select the leaves and make them into real objects (Ctrl + A -> make instances real), then you need to bake the materials to textures (there are many great tutorials out there on texture baking), after that you can use the Godot exporter addon to export to Godot (github.com/godotengine/godot-blender-exporter).
How would one go about using this tree in unity3d?
You should be able to import this tree but you'll have to bake the textures. There are many great tutorials out there that explain how to do so. (Just search for either Blender texture baking or Blender to unity)
@@JonathanKron Since in this tutorial the material is only saved to the plane, will baking the plane material also apply the mat to the instances? Also, in unity I am still getting the little boxes where the instancing is happening. How can I fix that?
@@zuko5093 You'll have to convert the instances to mesh in Blender (select, Ctrl + A, make instances real) then you can delete the boxes which were used for instancing.
When all the instances are their own mesh you can select all of them, Ctrl + j to join, and then unwrap them and bake the texture (I explained the first part of what I wrote here in the forest tutorial :D)
@@JonathanKron pressing ctrl + a doesnt make instances real tho. also i dont know what do I select and press ctrl + a
How do i make it less than 200 meshes to import in roblox studio?
im having the same issue
@@ImSimplySkilled i figured it out, either join them as one mesh or inport them as one mesh in roblox studio
2:38 how i open this window
HOW TF DO I OPEN UP THAT SIDE WINDOW
what's happened in 4:37?
shift + f3 to go to the shader editor + N to close the properties
Invictus Crown thank you👍🏻
@@azizasuleymen7338 Did you figure out how to add "new" after the shift + f3 I dont even see that option?
DupliFaces Stretch my leaves for some reason...
weird, maybe try applying the scale first?
Thees trees got a lot of vertices, don't recomend for a low end pc
You did a great job of showing us what to do, but a terrible job at showing us how to do it. It would be great if you could have slowed it down and taught us more...
Ok, thanks for the feedback. It would be great if you could tell me what I left out, so I can improve :D.
@@JonathanKron Well, it's mostly that the video was crammed into 6 minutes and 50 seconds. I would love to see a longer video format as if you're doing it real time! Nothing gets left out that way. It also allows you to teach about what each specific section in the addon does and how to take advantage of it.
Maybe you could import your tree into a game engine. You could even make an animation for it! You could show us practical applications for this addon as well.
@@s3ntryplays449 Hi, thank you for the feedback, it's really appreciated. I will try to implement your suggestions in future videos ^^
@@s3ntryplays449 the game engine part would be amazing! ive been stuggling with this
