I’m in SoCal so other than rain I’ll probably be driving it year round. Glad your keeping it pristine by storing it, though I bet sometimes you just go sit in it even during when parked long term. I know I would.
I do! It’s currently 4 degrees, feels like -20 here in Massachusetts. We have a winter storm on the way that’s dropping a foot of snow. Luckily my garage is heated and I have space for projects. I wish I was in SoCal!
I got a linkage kit from Hurst last year (new bushings and rods) and that made the shifts smoother. Maybe check that prior a rebuild if you haven't already?
That sounds like a good idea Tony. Thanks for the tip. I did the new bushings but I didn't do the rods. Now that I'm thinking back, I might actually have the wrong style rods on the vehicle. Correct for a 390FE + Toploader, but incorrect for a Mustang. I assume they should work but it's worth the change.
Dang that always sounds awesome! Do you have the factory power steering? I had a couple of 69 Mustang Mach 1s a long time ago. One had a 351W and the other a 351 Cleveland and I always felt that I never could get the power control valve to adjust as nice as I would have liked. How do you like the steering in yours? I will be running manual steering in my current build and I will see if I like it as much as I remember a long time ago in other stangs I had.
Thank you! Yes to factory power steering. The power control valve definitely operates slightly better in one direction then the other and I do notice it. Also at low-RPM it is harder to turn. I haven't adjusted the power control valve to see if I could make it any better. I feel like I would have trouble with manual steering. I probably could use it but it would be a pain. I have to make quite a few slow speed turns in my driveway but at least I would get a workout! What did you prefer of the 351C vs 351W?
@@SmackeysGarage The Windsor was snappier and I liked driving it more because it was built for more RPM but I think at the time the Cleveland had more potential due to the cylinder heads and intake.
that extreme energy 284 hits great car sounds amazing
Thanks! I love the sound.
Jewel ,unique ,best model.....🧞♂️🧞♂️👍👍

What a beast!
It is! A blast to drive as well!
I need to build my 390 to these specs for my truck😍
The cam might be a little big unless you want to rev it to the moon! The sound is really nice though!!!

@@VegasRT500 That sounds interesting. I've been in a 351W but never a C. Thanks for helping me understand the difference in the driving experience!
