It's that last line that means everything - "Who'd have thought we'd have turned out okay". If you listen, Ellen says it with a little bit of sentimentality. Really sums up both of their lives.

It's Photoshopped, as are all the photos from the "People Are Talking" one back to the baby pics. You can tell by Oprah's disbelief that Ellen's joking. Oprah's 63 (born in 1954) and Ellen's 59 (born in 1958), and Oprah grew up in Mississippi and Tennessee, and Ellen in New Orleans, so they weren't in high school together, as Oprah was not only 4 years older, but in another part of the country, and Oprah had been advanced ftom kindergarten to grade 3 in her first year of school, so that'd put them 6-7 years apart in school years. Ellen did her comedy show from 1994-1997, when Oprah played her shrink on her coming out episode.
They admitted to having known each other, in this clip, for about 25 years, not since childhood; that was Ellen having fun with her.

I don't know how to explain this, but Ellen is so likable, I don't even knew her and we are from two different continent , yet she made me smile even at times when I hadn't seen things to smile about. I think that's what you call friend in the mind.

You’re probably more than OK and don’t realize it. I’m not for a minute suggesting the challenges of highly-enriched, impossible-not-to-be-recognized-everywhere-you-go celebrities are comparable to what the vast majority of us encounter in life, but believe me when I say, the money brings a comfort and security that is itself destabilizing vis-a-vis our former lives, the trust with friends and family and spouses and/or romantic companions that was never predicated on favors or financial reciprocation... and ‘fulfillment’ in life, already enough of a very rare bird in our pressure-cooker Western lives, becomes even more fleeting. Don’t get me wrong, I admire these two women enormously, for their talents, achievements, for their shared good humor - but I admire them all the more because they both have a realistic take on the world, and haven’t sugar-coated the struggles, nor pulled up their socks and left behind those still in the struggle. But if you are always striving to make the world better, things can only be OK. There’s still so much to be done!
I guess what I’m saying, or meant to say, is - don’t feel like you are ‘less than’ because you don’t have their lives. You are not ‘less than’. Being one or the other of them might be fun for a week, or a month, but after that:... it would be work. And their work is never done.

Ellen is a comedic genius! Almost everything she says and does is funny. There are very few people in comedy/ showbiz that can do what she does. She is also a great person too.

Ellen I am a 100% disabled veteran I am clinically depressed I was injured in the United States Navy, it is a very complex situation. I suffer everyday, most days I don't want to live anymore. I know and that is not an option. I really enjoy watching all of your RUclips videos, sometimes you cannot comment on some of the videos. Like when you went shopping with the First Lady Michelle Obama that really lifted my spirits I just want to say to you Ellen that I admire you and you.I wish I could be more like you. I feel suicidal most everyday when I wake up in the morning I'm like oh my God I have to go through another day. I am suffering from all of the illnesses, and injuries that I sustained while I was dressed Naval uniform, performing my duties. I had a serious injury that caused multiple problems. I would like to contact you somehow, I just don't know how I will love to come and be a part of your show, and bring my Daughter Bernadette that has to suffer right along with me. She loves you Ellen, as most of everyone that watches all the good that you bring to others.
