Bear-inoid - I like it. My brother-in-law and I were hiking in Montana a few years and we started getting into some berry bush and grassy area. I told my bro-in law, we should really start making some noise so we don't startle a bear up here. I kid you not, the first time I clapped my hands, a grouse flushed not three feet from us and went whizzing on by us. We both just about had a heart attack. Those things are loud as hell and you think a much bigger animal is about to do bad things to you.
I truly believe grouse are the biggest killers of old hunters in the woods. Whenever they find a hunter who died of a heart attack they say he must have saw that record animal. Nope I'm guessing it was a grouse scared the life out of him. Those things are evil. Can be creeping along in stealth mode for hours not making a sound and one will wait till your 5 feet away and bust out.
Friend: I know you will find coins. Proceeds to throw his pocket change everywhere
Hahah! I'll go get it!
That’s a good idea next time I find a spot! Keep them digging new stuff!
28:17 I laughed so loud I woke my dog up. lol... I have made similar mistakes googling seemingly innocent terms, and still have nightmares.
Glad to see you cover your holes I can't tell how many times I have been walking and seen holes all over a field from people metal detecting and not covering them up
yeah those holes make me angry too LOL
Not sure if anyone has ever commented about that button but it's a button from an Army uniform. Pretty cool find!
a great video ,,Klesh ,,,,hello from England UK ,Adrian here ,,,,,we found a 18th century gold ring last week ,,in a huge ploughed field along with loads of other goodies,,in our recent posts,,good luck in your future hunts !
Thanks for sharing man. Looked like it was a pretty well tracked area for out in the woods especially considering from what I could tell there wasn't a deep swimming hole or anything. It makes me cringe seeing all of that trash out there. A button falling off or a coin falling out of your pocket when you sit at the base of a tree which you wouldn't even notice but leaving beer cans and pull tabs intentionally is messed up. If the people who visited the area enjoyed it, perhaps it would be nice to let others enjoy it the same way they did without their garbage laying around.
Last time I was this hook on 📺 it was watching lost... man! I’m about to buy some gear and go out panning and detecting!!!! Thanks man! I love it! I’m in Savannah Georgia so I don’t know about gold but there’s got to be some relics around here.... and if is to loud than you are too old😂🤣!!!
Yeah man, There's some awesome historic stuff around Savannah. I stayed near there when I was in the Army for 2 weeks. Very cool
Excellent! that was fascinating and the GoPro makes it like being there for the audience. Really cool and good luck. Many thanks.
Looks like a beautiful but cold hike!
Very cool video, if you have a area you call silver stream you could call this one copper creek, since you found all those copper pennies, just a suggestion:)
My two Sons & I name areas all the time, we always name them after things we find but mostly after things we see, such as, Beaver Slide Run, Lightning Strike, Wolf Tail Valley, Rusty Axe, The Bonsai Tree, it’s just for us but we always know where we’re talking about,
Anyway great video, love & enjoy your channel, you always have something different and educational!!
Cool! yeah i'll call it copper stream thanks for the comment and sorry for the late reply. Only been 2 years!
Always a fun adventure with you, Klesh - thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
I don't usually dig till after thaw. Dealing with bears is very picky.... Anything can trigger them, you can usually scare them away but its best to just leave before they notice you. Keep @ it and HH!
"In Colorado, in the mountains..by a stream"...Hey, I know exactly where that is. It is right there by the tree!
Well we no it's not boulder county
Looks like you found Party Central with all the Pull Tabs 😂👍
Cool video Klesh. Beautiful scenery and a few nice finds.
That army pants button was really cool and some of the coins show you're in the right era for some silver. Worth a visit on another date. :D
Finally the Coors can! I was starting to worry... Good video dude, keep it up.
“Bearanoid”. Love it
haha yep
Just watched this again and enjoyed as much as the first time. Did you ever go back Shane. If not you should. Maybe all those beeps over the creek were nuggets? Be a great vid going back. Also, you have changed so much since this vid. This was a totally different you. I think you've probably slowed down quite a bit since this vid. That climb was damned awesome. Anyway, was a very enjoyable re-watch of you a year and a quarter ago :)
I haven't gone back but I'm sure there's more stuff there now that it's not frozen. I don't think I slowed down at all really, been all over the world since this video and even heading to Alaska/BC/Yukon in 2 days. Not to mention my recent video where I hiked miles above 10,000' elevation. Don't worry, when I start slowing down I'll let you know
@@Klesh You're awesome!!!!1
Button from WW1 US Army pants
Super cool! Hope he see's this!
The frozen stream is this video is so pretty. I'm sure digging thru this ground was tough. Great video see ya next one!
Thank you David R. Butcher!
Very nice quite location. Looks like a good time. Very relaxing. Nice spot.
your videos are great, I love Colorado. Iv'e been 2 times. I went to Dorango and Silverton when I was 16. I didn't know about prospecting then, I sure wish I did , I would have had a great time. We did ride the old train along the river on a cliff and that was fun.
I detect in black bear country and the last thing I would do is bring a black backpack out into the woods with me and slinging around like I had a cub by the leg! Lol
A cordless jack hammer would work great on that permafrost. Lol. Another good video as always.
Shane, great video man! I came across your channel a few month ago... always very informative and brings a lot of places I’ve been interested in detecting/prospecting ‘to light’! Very cool. I’d love to go out and prospect sometime, let me know man!
Thanks Jonathan Cohen for watching!
I love going up mountains that you can get 360 degree views . Just an Amazing Place . Tks
Thank you Rob Dedrick!
It looks exactly like the permafrost we get up here in Fairbanks. Can definitely make things difficult. In Alaska, when you hit permafrost it's time to go to a new spot for gold unless you have some kind of large equipment. I once knew a guy with a gold claim who would blast out the permafrost into large blocks during winter w/ Dynamite and remove the blocks. In summer they would have paydirt exposed and it would limit the soupy mess of thawed permafrost.
The first time I've heard the phrase BEARANOID! Dig it dude. Using that the rest of my life. PSA never google climax bullets unless..............
Made it up on the spot, feel free to use it all you like LOL.
@@Klesh Right on dude!
Love watching all your videos man, I'd give anything to have a equinox 800 to metal detector my step dad's property which his family has owned since the 1800s. Sadly I will never afford one because disability doesn't allow a person to have extra cash to have fun with. Lol.
Nice video mate , I have got the same problem with frozen ground in England , good luck, have subbed and liked.
little small to be something from an A-10. Now a 410 gauge shotgun. Great video. Cheers!
Thank you Chris Meek!
Bearannoyed. My new favorite bear reference. The TANK Tonaka! He is everywhere.
*Bearanoid
Ah, a pull tab from a coors beer can circa 1970's
ahhh nice to see you back to detection!
I need to get back out with the detector, haven’t done anything since Mexico in March.
Those are the kind of old campsite I like to find. Someone took extra measure , "not" to leave a footprint. 🤔🤗
Thanks William for watching!
I understand your Bearanoi-aaaah. I have had 3 bear encounters. It was a nice little adventure with my morning coffee thank you!
And the button is a simple 4 hole metal shirt button. Anytime i hv seen those style, they are put on items to state the item was made in USA. Its just a style of a 4 hole button tho its pressed in the middle for easier sewing. First thing i recalled with that style was flannel, warm style shirts. Where are you? Where ppl where those alot.
Really enjoyed your outing. That button could be from bib overalls from the 70s. Was that an old hippy hang out? I yelled at a bear once and it turned and ran right at me. It was scared because it was being chased by a pack of dogs. All I could see was the fear in its eyes as it ran right by me. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, it possibly was a hangout for hippies. Pretty far up into the mountains but not too bad.
I love your channel. I have a little "constructive criticism".... It's just that the intro music is really loud. It's like turn down the volume quick, then turn it back up to hear you speak. Source: Am a headphone user. Thanks!! No hate!!
JonnyBMK same here Johnny. I like the videos but the music at the beginning is very loud.
Thanks I have since taken this into consideration and have been adjusting the audio levels to make all videos more consistent.
You can’t be too hard on Budweiser. From the dates of those cans that was pretty much the best beer available back then, except for Coors though. I remember when I was a kid and Coors wasn’t legal to sell outside Colorado and Idaho because they didn’t heat pasteurize their beer. I remember my parents and their friends would share some Coors when someone brought some back and it was a special thing to them. This was early 80’s Portland, Oregon
You bring up some interesting points about the history of Budweiser and Coors. It's true that during the early 80's in Portland, Oregon, Budweiser and Coors were some of the most popular beers available, and Coors was considered a special treat due to its limited availability. However, it's also important to note that during the prohibition era in the US, many traditional German beer recipes were lost and it was a difficult time for the brewing industry. As a result, many breweries, including Budweiser, had to adapt and change their recipe in order to survive. This may have led to a watering down of the traditional flavors and styles that were once popular. Today, there are many other options for beer enthusiasts to choose from, and brewing techniques have evolved, making it possible to find a variety of styles and flavors.
@@Klesh Thanks for the history and such a detailed reply! This is why you're the best youtube channel out there and why I consistently buy your products. In fact, my most recent order arrives this Saturday, so thanks for that! Cheers!
OMG!! I looked down and all I could think is of you falling and being trapped. Klesh I know you're careful but things do happen. Wish you would have gotten some silver but at least you know where (when it warms up) to go for possibilities. Enjoyed the video very much, as always. Take care and thanks for sharing. GL & HH
Someone is a momma bear.. 😆 exactly what my mom would say.
@@GOWIN8109837 Yep that is me alright. Happy 2022 !😊
Nice long vid. Great job as usual!!! 👍👍
I like Bearanoid! haha Although raises your arms up high and make loud noise with make them run. The sooner you do it the better. You don't want them too close. I never go in wilderness by myself with out sidearm though. You can shoot a round to scare them worst case. I would never kill unless it was my life or theirs. I watched a video of guys detecting at beach under water in Hawaii and they found cool shit. Do you detect for nuggets? I suppose that is the dream find.
Yeah I've detected some gold in Australia which was great! Check those Australia videos out if you haven't, I think you'll like those.
I stopped the video at the 19:40 point for 2 reasons , reason number 1 was because the view was absolutely stunning and the other reason was to subscribe . ok back to the rest of the video.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it and thanks for subscribing!
Lol,,, funny thing is as soon as ny son read your comment when you found the bullet n said ..NOT TO ... he did exactly that... searched. .. funnier thing is, since i grew up in an all boy family besides me and my early yrs in Vegas tell i grad HS then a single mom, when he turned 21 and we had our trip to Vegas for a very special vet(alt vet), guess who had mo issue taking him in the adult stores? And he actually left with stuff. Happy Bday kiddo! 👿..he recalled dem der bullets bak den.. 😉
Great day out digging , love the scenery and I really like the long video, be great to go back when the ice melts .
That cloud needs to be investigated. Precious metals put off a gas cloud like that when buried.
Watching klesh and panning out material I've collected while at home. #bestlife
The rocks at 13:23 looks like a face in the top right lol
You should definitely come back and dig when the ground isn't frozen
Thanks Mikee Vee for watching!
Look for old home sites there. 1500s, 1600s home sites too. Theres silver there somewhere.
Military button 1850-1890
I think that spot would be better in the summer or spring time. It looked cold and windy out there.
Beautiful area you were hunting in. Enjoyed the mountain scenery.
I Googled it best laugh all day
Know that location well. Some of those pull tabs may even have been by friends (mine went inside the can & got packed out).
nice! Yeah there's also supposedly silver coins all throughout there, I will be going back when everythign thaws out.
#bearinoid Cool location. Wish you could’ve found some silver. Either bad info on the location or your buddy found all the treasure!
The Button I believe is a WWII or maybe WWI era Army Fatigue button.. seen them before, some have "USA Army" on them and others just have "USA" or which means you might find military artifacts if maneuvers were held in the area.. something you might want to research..
It's an underwear button for the army
Right.. I went through my fathers things and he had one left over from WWII, that is where i seen it.. its in his button box with a sewing kit.. also a small kit of K-rations.. dont know if I would eat anything..
Nice video. Warm weather and get back there brother and find the goods. As always great video. Is this private land
Nice hunt! Pretty snowed in here still unfortunately
Hi hope your move is going well miss you live but I understand it’s giving me a chance to look at some of your old videos I’ve seen a lot of them but I didn’t know about liking them and leaving comments and all that stuff so anyways hope you’re well see you soon
Thanks Christina, glad you've discovered my older videos. Plenty of them to watch on here and yes the move is still going, should be back to live streaming mid july / august if all goes as planned
too funny.....advice on the shell casing....lol.....on the bear note...being ex military, i would not go into the mountains unless i was strapped...just for that reason. Thanks for the video...as always.....keep up the great work.
that was a lot of work! lol
And a lot of fun! Thanks for watching!
your walk'n through the woods without a sidearm? Hell my brother had a grizzly walk past his kitchen window down in La Vita.
Yeah I know they're out there too, I do carry but not every day.
Great video, made me wish I was there.
Just something I have seen before . There may have been a forest fire at some time .
Nice!
28:35 410 gauge shotgun shell.
Great video I love my AT pro.
My AT Pro died during an overseas trip, making it a wasted trip so I'll never use Garrett detectors again. Have since switched to Minelab and haven't had a problem yet.
What kinda ghost was that? I know curiosity killed the cat but...💨👻
Thanks for the great video Klesh
With those big rocks in the area I'd be more wary of mountain lions. Actually when you go alone, you should be armed.
410 gauge shotgun shell most likely.
It's an old Levi Strauss button, could be quite old.
Awesome videos!
Thank you Randine Gwin!
Looks like you’re up in Bailey or maybe Indian Hills.
Bummer no Silver but still looks like a blast.
Looks to be a military button from a jacket.
I agree DragonLady Tarot, and thanks for watching!
Levi’s button from a denim jacket
Man I'd love to rockhound up in there!!
Thank you for the video :)
What was the situation there ? Old Mining Camp ? Town Site? Logging outfit ? If coins were being found it must have had a long ESH population at some point.
Yeah I checked historic aerials (only back to the 1940's) and there were no signs of people there, just forest. Possibly a small mining camp
Had to do it. I'll take two please...hahaha jus kiddin!
Looks like a button off a old levis jacket
I agree Trevor Wiley, and thanks for watching!
jeez, how cold was it there?
Nice video, thanks for sharing it...
Fun adventure Shane! What do you think the possibility of gold in the area is?
There's no historical gold mining here so i'd say low to none.
I'm very curious to know which beer you prefer now. Budweiser ain't too bad haha
I prefer my German Hefe's
Klesh isnt aluminum by itself is still worth something
yeah it sure is
26:12- what kind of vape brand do you have? I have snowwolf.
I have a box full of vapes but the one I always carried was the Pioneer4you box mod
GOOD DAY OUT DIGGING ENJOYED
Somehow, I missed this one
Thanks Mikee Vee for watching!
Thanks for the great video
Coin being on its side and frozen ground will not read accurate depth. Just Saying Thanks for the video Shane
such a great hobby, gold prospecting, magnet fishing, metal detecting.
unfourtainly metal detecting is locked behind licences, costs and laws with absurd fines here in germany.
damn authorities making every spot where a farmer took a shit 500 years ago a historical monument, where all that great hobbies are forbidden. everything you find you gotta show an archaeologist and when it has some historical value they take it from you not even a reward
the government even distributed flyers for the normal people to look out for people with metal detectors, they put "metal detector person" and "tomb raider" all over the place. like its the same thing.
Thanks gamerpaddy for watching!
It's a bear territory always should have gun with you. It's the last resort but better than cracked shovel =)
Cool spot
Cheers
sounds like your a little bias ! when it comes to beer !
thankyou for the video, love your countryside, do you ride a horse?
I'm curious. Can a powerful metal detector be used prospecting ? Just a thought.
Yeah I have a Minelab Equinox 800 that has two gold prospecting modes. I use it when I'm in the jungles or deserts. Here in Colorado the gold is too small for the detector to pick up. Even if I was to find a nugget, it'd be impossible to discriminate among the trash. In desolate areas though, it's great. Good question thanks.
@@Klesh Ok, I was just wondering. Thanks for the reply.
I will move back to CO. Living the Salt Life for now.
Nice!
