At least those cops were cool. Like you said there wasn't an trespassing signs or anything on the property. The best part is they told you how to get permission to metal detect on that property. The walking liberty half dollar was the best find of that day.
Great video, I use to search out rolls of Half Dollars so I know how much fun it can be. Those cops were great! I am 65 now and about 10 years ago I was with my Wife and two Sons in Reno walking back to our car in a strip mall after lunch. In the parking lot was a cop leaning up against his motorcycle, I said hi,what kind of bike is that? Told me if I said one more word he would arrest me for interfering with an "investigation". Hey klesh, I stumbled on your channel awhile back, just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos. I like that your the real deal, you don't have super expensive equipment , and your doing things that just anyone can go do. You rock man, keep it up!
Be careful with abandoned properties, some people buy them to put in underground bunkers and leave the house their for people to mess with and won't think twice to look for a bunker.
As soon as you pull up to the abandoned place, my immediate reaction was "Somebody, a bank or somebody, owns it. Regardless of posted signs or lack thereof, it's trespassing." Good thing you are a clean-cut-looking guy, and the cops were reasonable about it all. Seems it could be worth getting the approval and hunting that place, right? Congrats on the many silver and NIFC finds! KCG Coins? OK! I thought YOU pretty much determined how the cops would treat you, by being very respectful and courteous. Glad it went so well!
Yeah I showed my military ID and they instantly became regular guys, even more than what I have filmed here. I checked the property and the owner actually died a few years ago, but it's still in his name. Thanks for watching!
@@Klesh It doesn't matter if the owner died. His estate passed to someone who you are taking these things from without permission, even if that someone is a bank.

Hi, Shane!!! I've been going through soooo many of your videos today!! I love them!! I'm a disabled VET with Combat PTSD from front lines combat during Desert Storm as a Recon Scout and have been looking for a way to be interested in a hobby of sorts while dealing with my extreme anxiety. I think this might be it! I mean, EVERYTHING that you're doing! Thank you for sharing your adventures with the world! That's awesome of you. I have two questions for you, though... if you don't mind indulging me... Do you have to order the boxes of half dollars from the bank in advance? And what banks did you have the best luck with? Small local banks or larger banks like Wells Fargo that you were going into? Any ideas on how I'd best find banks in my area? It doesn't really matter because you never know where someone cashed in their grandpop's coin collection for $20 to get a couple bottles of Boones farm. So check every bank, just go through the drive thru and ask for halves, if they got some, go buy them all and you'll get lucky! Good luck

Another great video. I enjoy coin roll hunting as well. I just finished 3 three box’s of halves today now on to the nickels. My best ever for a box of halves was 54 silvers.

Based on my experience at pulling sign permits in Colorado (or just about anywhere else), you can find a property owner by going to the county assessor's website and do a property search. Bennett is on the line between Adams and Arapahoe so it depends on exactly where this house is. I'm kind of shocked that you had to learn this one the hard way. ;-) Getting permission is one of the 10 commandments of metal detecting.

I don't know if anyone else told you already about those "rings" (too many comments for me to go through to see) but they are for hanging curtains on a curtain rod. You slide the hole part on to the rod, and "pinch" the clamp-y side to hold the curtain.
Cool stuff. I've been storm chasing out there near Byers and eastward on Highway 36. Colorado is so unique as once you get east of Denver your in the wild west of the nigh plains with those tiny western towns and abandoned ranches. I've hiked and explored those areas for hours when i wasn't storm chasing.

That's right. Both movies are awesome. I can't remember the guy who strapped the lawn mower on his chest and went to work on the possessed, but Bruce Campbell is a legend in his own time.
Question bro. What do you do with all the standard mints? Do you take them back to the banks for recirculation? Just curious as to what your process is. Thanks bro for another killer vid and congrats on the walking liberty. Good find there
I like your videos, actually just started watching, pretty good content. Pretty crazy just pulling on to a property and walking around and going through an abandoned house without permission other than that pretty cool stuff.
Totally great Video Shane.. A great adventure and coin roll hunt all wrapped up together.. Should of used Cops in the title and robbed the banks of some silver.. lol Thanks
Dad and I were talking yesterday about going through old farm houses. Then tonight we watched this. Kinda creepy going out there alone. I would need a side arm or a side kick. The coin search is great idea. I love coins and rocks. We love the show. And we miss and love Colorado so perfect show for us.
Nice silver halves Klesh. All that newspaper in the refrigerator/freezer is for absorbing odors and to prevent mildew. It's funny that though the house is abandoned, he wants to make sure the frig. Is free of odors. Anyways, HH.👍😎
Wow. Awesome score at the bank and awesome finds in the box. Best I've done is a few foreign coins at the coin machine. The police were cool. I assume just checking to be sure no one was out there who was up to no good.
Hopefully you can get in touch with the owner and get permission to do some detecting there. I'd be curious to see what comes out of there. Great video, enjoyed it as always!
Check country records for who’s name is on the deed. I’d also check country tax records to see if the property taxes are current and maybe who’s paying them....there might be a chance you can claim the property.....not sure how it all works but I know there is a way to assume abandoned property, particularly if the taxes are behind. Anyway check county records for bill of sale, tax records, and who is in the deed and next of kin. Good luck
Could be a hillbilly house. Hard to tell whether they use it or not. I went to a yard sale at a hillbilly house and they informed me they are not having a sale!!! Stuff everywhere.
Watching you drive reminds me of what I think is the toughest part about prospecting. Trying to find a place to park your car. I sometimes have to hike for miles after I find a spot.
I did keep my NIFC's for a while, then realized only the higest grades would have a slight increase in value over years. So i took all mine to the bank and dumped them into the machine. I kept a few tubes of the best looking ones though.
That was a cool adventure minus the cops but at least you know about the owner and can now get permission to metal detect it hope you get that dig thanks for the good videos keep them coming
Nice video! The owner needs to post signage if he don't want peeps there! I do some detecting as well and it amazes me how many owner of properties don't post signs! Keep up the awesome vids, look forward to watching them daily!
Wow.... that's horrible. You have to place a sign on your property over there so people don't go on it. How awful that must be, everyone having to have signs outside their houses so no one trespasses. Do you have a sign on your property? Over here in Aus you assume it is owned by someone and ask permission. Mostly folks say it's ok.
@2Qwk2C if it's extremely rundown (way more than that place), I'd go explore. I wouldn't take anything. But I'd explore. Sometimes you just got to explore. It's risky. But if you are respectful than I say go for it at your own risk.
I love it, silver hunting in the Bank! Classy. Can't do that here in Aus ....... at least I don't think you can. The big plus in mining like that is your back doesn't get killed and your hands are clean all day!!! Awesome vids!
I have hundreds of those older halves, and a ton more from my grandpa's old collection. A bunch of old star note bills too. I have a 1928 $50 star note. Wonder what this stuff is all worth.🤔
the 40% halves are worth about $2 each. The 90% silver halves are worth about $6 each. Depending on year, rarity, condition of course, they could be very valuable for certain dates / mint marks / errors etc.
You need to check out my Coin channel "KleshTV". I spend hours live streaming there each week going through half dollars. Found TONS of good ones this past week!
Just checking out some old videos. Awesome walking liberty! And even more AwesomeGeorge Kastanza wallet (sienfield) you must have back problems from that bad boy😆 🤣 😂
OK what’s a good metal detector to use if you’re really into metal detecting and I live at Myrtle Beach South Carolina so we have a whole lot of Battlefields from the Civil War as well as going to the beach and picking coins and rings and necklaces from the tourist in the area
Stumbled on the channel. It’s been entertaining, but I’m definitely late as the video is 4 years old. I’m just trying to piece this together…. After looking through them all, and keeping the special ones, do you take all the mass of coins back to another bank and trade in for most of your money back? Repeat…?
Nice find. A little over $30 in silver if my brain is still functioning somewhat. That's better than I've ever done going through a box of $500 in halves. Im lucky if I find 3-5 silver halfs after going through $3000 in halfs. I usually order $3000 at a time. Not really worth the time it takes to reroll them if you ask me. All these videos of people finding 70+ halfs in single $500 box are bs in my opinion. Unfortunately the channels that find gold coins in bank rolls are bs too because the weight of gold makes the counter reject any gold coins. Anyways, yeah man... Nice find. That's awesome. *I was referring to the first silver find*
Oh yeah I've actually had a box with 50+ silvers in it, and a few with 30+ opened during live streams as well. Those boxes are out there, just gotta get a lucky collection dump and you win!
@@Klesh wow. Guess I'm wrong. I've literally gone through $100000+ in halves and never had a box with even half of that. Guess my luck just sucks. That's awesome you have such good luck. Go buy a lotto ticket brother!

Awesome video , loved the exploring bit and the random unknown aspect to the video, can’t wait for you to detect the place if you get the permission, nice silvers too , I would say it was a great day
NIFC's are coins "Not Intended For Circulation", in other words, they're a low mintage and harder to find. For half dollars, the NIFC years are 1987, 1970, 2002-present day. They still make half dollars, but are NIFC and can only be purchased from the Mint (or found in these rolls!) Thanks for watching. Good question also.
Something we can't do any more in the UK since they changed the sizes of all coins. And as the modern ones are all made from garbage, searching through £100 worth of 'silver' coins, no matter the denomination, gets you no silver at all ever. .

It’s quite apparent that this guy has never seen “Leatherface”, "The Hills Have Eyes", "Wrong Turn", or "House of 1000 Corpses".
Big big fan of the horror type genre! Thanks for watching! (you forgot evil dead)
Good find there
Yeah I just take them back to the bank. It's a cool way to find silver because you never lose money
They put news paper in the fridge because it absorbs moisture and odors , great video glad the cops were cool 👍
Thank you Chris Boettler!
I like your videos, actually just started watching, pretty good content. Pretty crazy just pulling on to a property and walking around and going through an abandoned house without permission other than that pretty cool stuff.
Totally great Video Shane.. A great adventure and coin roll hunt all wrapped up together.. Should of used Cops in the title and robbed the banks of some silver.. lol Thanks
Alright I changed the thumbnail to have the cops in it. LOL Thanks for watching!
It may be 4 years old but it was an exciting trip. Cops appeared but good thing I think that you weren’t in the house when they showed up.
I really want to try that too
I did pretty good on the silver. It's a pretty good return of investment just for asking the teller for half dollars!
Dad and I were talking yesterday about going through old farm houses. Then tonight we watched this. Kinda creepy going out there alone. I would need a side arm or a side kick. The coin search is great idea. I love coins and rocks. We love the show. And we miss and love Colorado so perfect show for us.
Thanks Star Gazer glad you enjoyed it!
Nice silver halves Klesh. All that newspaper in the refrigerator/freezer is for absorbing odors and to prevent mildew. It's funny that though the house is abandoned, he wants to make sure the frig. Is free of odors. Anyways, HH.👍😎
True I didn't think of that, Thanks for watching!
Wow, super nice silver score at that first bank.
Yeah it was pretty great
Wow. Awesome score at the bank and awesome finds in the box. Best I've done is a few foreign coins at the coin machine. The police were cool. I assume just checking to be sure no one was out there who was up to no good.
Yeah after I showed my military ID they became regular guys and we joked around for a bit. Thanks for watching!
Hopefully you can get in touch with the owner and get permission to do some detecting there. I'd be curious to see what comes out of there. Great video, enjoyed it as always!
He's dead for a few years. The place is still in his name, so not sure what to do now.
Good luck
Well son of a bitch! :-P
Arizona I’m guessing edge of it so it close to Utah
That house was far more spacious than it looked from the outside.
I agree Stephanie G, and thanks for watching!
Lawdy. Be careful about those "abandoned houses" up here in Montana, they've usually got people living in them who like to be left alone.
Yea like the Unibomber! Thanks will be careful~!
@@Klesh ha ha! Montana will never live that one down.
Can somebody tell me what nifc stands for?,, never mind, he just said it
Samuel James Not Intended/Issued For Circulation
Great video. I have been considering doing this with my spare change in dollar bills and quarters in my mason jar at home.
Good luck!
Nice video! So you keep the NIFC coins thinking they will go up in value?
what is a NIFC coin?
I did keep my NIFC's for a while, then realized only the higest grades would have a slight increase in value over years. So i took all mine to the bank and dumped them into the machine. I kept a few tubes of the best looking ones though.
That was a cool adventure minus the cops but at least you know about the owner and can now get permission to metal detect it hope you get that dig thanks for the good videos keep them coming
Thanks for watching!
Nice video! The owner needs to post signage if he don't want peeps there! I do some detecting as well and it amazes me how many owner of properties don't post signs! Keep up the awesome vids, look forward to watching them daily!
I researched a bit and learned the owner died a few years ago. The property is still in his name.
Wow.... that's horrible.
I don't believe u can get charged with trespassing unless u are asked to leave and u don't or u return.
Thanks ADAM LIEBERMAN for watching!
I understand buying the rolls of coins but why the new dollar bills?
The new bills at that time were selling on ebay for quite a bit. Have not checked into it for a while though.
I love it, silver hunting in the Bank! Classy. Can't do that here in Aus ....... at least I don't think you can. The big plus in mining like that is your back doesn't get killed and your hands are clean all day!!! Awesome vids!
Thanks
Watching in 2020 quarantine wishing I could go to the grocery store like that🤣
I have hundreds of those older halves, and a ton more from my grandpa's old collection.
@@Klesh wow, okay. Awesome! I'll get online and start looking for the tells of the good ones. Lol
Thanks! Awesome videos man. Great hobbies 👍
The separate whole outside where you thought the water heater was is the water well house 👍😀
THanks!
You're lucky those cops were kool. In a similar situation, i found myself looking at the business end of a 12GA.
question
what is with the half dollars?
i have a few and you have peaked my interest with this video
respectfully Darrell
You need to check out my Coin channel "KleshTV". I spend hours live streaming there each week going through half dollars. Found TONS of good ones this past week!
Once you go through the rolled coins, does your bank buy them back?
If you put hem back in the rolls and the rolls are full they will take them
Man that old house is really need with the silo and everything...I'll bet the wind blows a bit there in that flat
Great video, lots of action. Loved it !
Thanks for watching!
I'd recommend the Equinox 600 or 800. They are good for both deep targets on land, and saltwater beaches.
I'd say it was a fun day. Thanks for taking us along, Klesh!
Thanks for watching!
Oooh I thought the boiler was someone in there!!!😖
That would've been crazy
You put wadded up newspaper in an unplugged refrigerator to try to keep it from smelly musty. Love your videos.
Thank you CraccaLaccaMacca!
Good video, good luck on the abandoned property getting permission.
Thanks for watching!
Stumbled on the channel. It’s been entertaining, but I’m definitely late as the video is 4 years old. I’m just trying to piece this together…. After looking through them all, and keeping the special ones, do you take all the mass of coins back to another bank and trade in for most of your money back? Repeat…?
Correct
Rookie Silver Stacker That is a Lot but I do 10 boxes a week...very rare to find
I wouldn't be surprised if one of your videos got on trending it seems like this would be great content for it. Also great work man keep it up. I really enjoyed stumbling upon you. Good luck on your next scouting.
Thanks for watching!
You handled yourself very well with the Police Officers.
With the way that people test them".
Very cool & interesting video, just wondering if you were to put a dollar value on the silver coins you collect out of all the coins you purchased, roughly how much value do you think you recovered over & above your investment? Thank you for sharing this great video, good luck & God Bless
It was about $50 worth of silver! Pretty good for just asking at the bank. Thanks for watching!
Glad cops were cool and you got silver in both boxes. Rock on!!!!
Thanks ROSA agUIRRE for watching!
I collect wheat pennies lol currently i have $2.00 in them but my oldest penny is my 1900 Indian head penny. Great video, love watching coin videos!
How sweet were those fifty cent pieces...?
Awesome adventure 😁👍
Good old Bennett! I used to live there. Married my wife there in 1981. She drove school buses for Bennett and Strasburg. I thought the cops were cool. Never had a problem out there.
Nice!
Awesome video , loved the exploring bit and the random unknown aspect to the video, can’t wait for you to detect the place if you get the permission, nice silvers too , I would say it was a great day
Thanks for watching!
nice cops,, they were polite and no hassle .you were lucky to see such nice guys.
Yeah I was respectful as well. I showed them my military ID and they quickly because a bunch of regular guys. Thanks for watching!
what are NIFC'S?
NIFC's are coins "Not Intended For Circulation", in other words, they're a low mintage and harder to find. For half dollars, the NIFC years are 1987, 1970, 2002-present day. They still make half dollars, but are NIFC and can only be purchased from the Mint (or found in these rolls!) Thanks for watching. Good question also.
Something we can't do any more in the UK since they changed the sizes of all coins. And as the modern ones are all made from garbage, searching through £100 worth of 'silver' coins, no matter the denomination, gets you no silver at all ever.
.
“And theres psilocybi- , 2 silos over there…” lol

I am from Europe, so I am not sure to understand. Do you collect these coins as a hobby or because they are worth more in metal than their values?
Some coins here in the USA are silver
@@Klesh indeed that I understand. My question was do you go through all this trouble finding them
Hello, I am in Plymouth England, and I really enjoy your videos. Not only do you find exceptionally interesting items, but I get to see the USA, and it is so diverse and beautiful. Thank you, you have a new fan of your channel.
I enjoyed your video. cool silver finds. The cops were nice, so that was cool. I hope you go back to metal detect the property soon :D
yeah they were real cool about it. I'd like to detect that property but I researched the property, and the owner actually died a few years ago. So, not sure what to do now. But, Thanks for watching!
