The 10 mm missing was hilarious, and accurate. I'm sure the person who stole it already lost it
I laughed SO HARD at the missing 10mm - my ‘02 Chevy Blazer is put together with nothing but 10mm and I must have bought 30 of those sockets so I never lose them!
I purposely have like a dozen 10 mm because they always go missing.
@@PatRyan-c7z same! 😂
Harbor freight sells a 10mm socket kit with several styles of 10mm on its own socket stick, brilliant
I know I was thinking wtf why is it always the 10mm?🤣
John should have to wear that to the store for next 100$ challenge
I was thinking the exact same thing 😂
YES!!!
The end was awesome. I was just literally laughing out loud. I knew sam had ya on this one.
But what do we call him now? Neko John or Neko Malecki?
@@jonathanalber4107 John Maneko
@@jonathanalber4107 Neko Malecki
John built a really great kit for a 16 yr old getting their first car.
Lol exactly. Honestly you could just tell John doesn't work on cars much, the judge sniffed it out. Sams kit was for harder jobs and for when things go wrong (which they will).
And Sam built a kit for the 26 yr old who is still keeping their first car alive, even if barely.
his*
It's one person.
@PANZERFAUST90 "Their" can also apply to an individual, it's especially useful when the subject's gender is unknown. Of course, I'm sure you knew that, but you just need to be angry at anything that could possibly be considered "woke".
@@Kalleion No, it can't. In cases of ambiguity the default form in masculine.
Your so-called 'wokeness' is irrelevant to this matter.
SAM THAT COSTUME IS EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the fun you guys have. I wish my shop was more like yours.
Would love to see you compare 10-in-1 type tools with single use tools and see if they are worth it!
And can't wait to see the video done in the costume!!😂
They are not
@@traviscrown9189Not even close. Lol. The bits will disintegrate after like 4 uses.
They aren't if you're doing real work but for the average homeowner I feel like a lot of them are worth it
@christopherkenneally6015 Good for starter kits and small repairs, absolutely. I bought an HDX starter kit from Home Depot on sale just to see if any of it was usable doing a remodel on a 100+ years old row home in South Philly, and I got some use out of the mini tape measure, the Allen keys, and the razor knife...which still works perfectly. Everything else was about useless.
@@PatRyan-c7z agreed
I actually got that all in one set that was $98, but i got it on sale for $85. I'll tell you, that kit is definitely worth it, it has the 3/8 ratchet with all the sockets and all deep well sockets and the 2nd drawer has the 1/4 ratchet with all the sockets and all the deep well sockets, and the bottom has all the allen wrenches plus a screwdriver with all the bits 🤙🏽 it's a must have 🤙🏽😉
Breaker bar, bolt extractor, and PB blaster... must haves for the rust belt. I highly recommend a MAP gas torch as well. Welcome to PA.
If budget allows, induction bolt heater too.
Great Choice of outfit there Sam! Thanks for letting me come over and play!
As someone who is about to start wrenching and has very little of my own tools. This was really cool to see and get some ideas of tools to pick up!
Keep the Sam Greene content coming!
Both Sams are awesome, so glad John's Sam won yet again. Dude is smart about this stuff.
The trim puller is a super useful thing to have. I've pulled way more trim pieces than I've ever needed a hammer to change my breaks. 1 door panel is usually about a dozen of those accursed plastic retention clips
The missing 10mm wrench was golden!!!
I haven’t seen mine in years! 😂😂
Awesome, educational, informative, and hilarious as all get out! Meow!
I was expecting a french maid costume but hello kitty works 🤣 🤣
That is just a normal cat.
French maid was my first thought too 😂😂😂😂
You were hoping, more like.
Sam as a French Maid. :3
Tbh it's really nice to see that each store has. Walmarts are pretty ubiquitous and are even more local than most of the other stores.
Always the 10 mm. 😂
Side note; should’ve gotten John a Bengals outfit to wear. That would’ve been hilarious. 😂😂
I work on cars quite a bit & a little *hack* I've discovered; when I'm using the 'Swiss army type' Allen wrenches, I 'flip out' the one I need, then use a rubber band around the handle to hold back the rest of them.
Best thing to do with them is to take them apart and slip a screwdriver into the hole on the one you are using or put a bolt through said hole (eyelet) with a nut to hold it in place to make a handle.
@leewat3742 I never even thought of that...forget my hack then!
I used to work as a cycle mechanic and the Park Tools folding set was like an extension of my body, when you're using them all day it's far more efficient than using individual ones
@@sg9222definitely! I don't often use them when working on my car, but they come in clutch when working on my bicycles.
11:47 “it’s all metric though” 😂
So is everything on your car bud
john not knowing all cars have been in metric for like 30 years is hilarious to me XD
That costume was one of the funnest things I have ever seen , I'm crying from laughing so hard
That was awesome! Well done. I love the "story telling" aspect. And the costume!
Nice to see Old Sam again. He did a great job of commanding the camera and articulating his thought process.
Sam needs his own show on the channel too 😁
i use those magnet plates for sewing. nice to keep pins from ending up in the rug.
Walmart used to sell a $20 mechanics tool kit that was pretty solid. Then just get a tool bag and some pliers, brake bleeder and compressor. And such
No fuse kits huh. I swear that every new car should come with a kit containing spare fuses, spare light bulbs, spare upholstery snaps, jumper cables, tire plug kit, a 20 pack of disposable gloves, and a USB rechargeable magnetic LED 500+ lumens flashlight. Even better if they throw in a 12v tire inflator. At the very least, I want to see new cars come with a full assortment of spare fuses and bulbs in the glove compartment.
The lights cables and tire inflator is good. Some gm cars come with green goo and an inflator. Most cars in one of the fuse panels has a fuse puller that is pretty handy and there will be extra fuses on accessories you don't have or in dedicated spare locations. It would be nice if they included a spare relay tho. I had a fuel pump relay go out and the only one not vital to driving was for the windshield wipers. But if it was raining then it would be concidered vital.
Good choice Sam! Good sport John!
I collect tools, and i own the 36" prybar from Wal-Marts Hyper Tough and its actually made by Wilde, who has made pry bars for all of the big tool truck brands. The same goes for the Hyper Tough gasket scrapers too, but the mini pry bars are made by Mayhew and branded Hyper Tough.
Mayhew is really good too. I got a set of dominator breaker bars from them. I've used them for everything from prying parts off cars that are stuck. To lifting the cabinets to set new flooring under it.
I thought it was gonna be a full Ravens outfit. Great video though. Thought John got shafted on the clip puller, those things are a GODSEND when removing any trim or carpet for stuff like car audio/wiring. Absolute must for any basic mechanic.
I would love to see you review some tools from Asia markets (not just Chinese export junk). I started buying "Total tools" a couple of years ago to replace some old and crappy tools and I am really amazed at the quality compared to price. It was the only budget tool company that followed a single battery strategy (Now you can buy bigger batteries) for all tools and you can have options to buy with or without the chargers and batteries which should be the industry standard. I have about 15 Total tools now from strimmer's for the garden to nail gun, drills, saws etc, and many hand tools.
for a beginner diy budget mechanic set...just think oil change and brakes. A combo wrench set in mm, a 3/8 ratchet with a 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, 19mm, 21mm sockets, a 3/8 to 1/4 drive adapter and a 10mm socket, a 3/8 short and medium extension, a prybar or large slot screw driver, channel lock pliers and vice grips. I think that can take you most of the way through oil changes and changing your own brakes on your car, minus needing a lift or a jack and stands to get the wheels off the ground.
This video was awesome about it hilarious and John all I got to say to you is here kitty kitty kitty kitty😂😂😂
Always fun to watch and the missing wrench made me laugh out loud. Great job Team Malecki!!!
Rofl I can only imagine what Sam's got up his sleeves for an "outfit" 😅
26:45 ok not what i eas exceptiing but 😂
10:40 also ngl I'd love to join this challenge 😅
As a novice and someone that does DIY on my car, there were some missed opportunities. A car jack, usually those that come with a newerr car is trash. Car jack or jack stands. Definitely jumper cables. Plastic throw away gloves or some heavy duty mechanic graded cleaning solutions. And maybe an extension for hard to reach screws or nuts
And also a 4 way "x" lug nut wrench
I'd love to see a common repair done with these tools once you've both completed the kits. I think that should also be judged before the winner is decided!
“When it gets cold the air gets thinner” No Sam, the exact opposite of that happens hahahahahaha
The king👑 of youtube is back and made a another good video and I love you videos and your channels
Is no one else going to say anything about how far that driver's seat is forward?!?!?! Hahaha love these series
Kudos to Sam Green. He knows what it’s like on a Tuesday and 2am, lol
That outfit!!!!! I'm crying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg omg omg omg lmfaoooooooooooooooooooo
Best woodworking yt channel out there
Knew it was the other Sam!!! They both ROCK!!!
I love the story arcs from Sam Green! Maybe more videos with him even if just sporadically.
Sam, you nailed it with your kit and the other kit was a very good kid too. And thank you for the laugh Sam. That was the greatest thing I've seen in a while now. I got me to laugh my ass off
yall need to remake this video but with different stores like harbor freight or home depot
They already did
Awesome choice, Sam. Can't wait to see it.
For us pore folks can ya post the list of each kit so we can plan for Christmas shopping!!? ✅
Seriously just wait till black Friday go to home depot get the best husky socket set in your budget a magnet bowl and pb blaster then just buy the more specialty stuff as you need it.
Oh look, to no one's surprise who is subscribed to all your channels John; it's the Mystery Judge whom we all knew it would be. Also, I'd have dressed up the loser in a ballerina outfit with a wide, frilly tutu.... all in pink! Cherry on top? A little princess crown for him. 🤣🤣🤣
Y'all guys make some of the best content. I am never disappointed when I view. I share y'all's videos all of the time with my buddies, telling them that they too need to subscribe. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
AAYYYYY THE KING RETURNS! I miss Sam and Jordan - but I adore our current Sam! (Did he get his own tee shirt yet? He needs one!)
Love opening RUclips and seeing more videos from John makes my day
I'm trying to remember the last time I used a hammer that wasn't a deadblow on one of my cars and nothing is coming to mind.
Right, hammer but almost ignored channel locks? All I've ever had is a 30 piece socket set, an extra long socket extender, screwdriver set, pliers and channel locks. My car is pushing 40 though, for newer cars might be better to just by one of those code readers.
i had to smash my window once
I use a deadblow 99 percent of the time. the other 1 percent is a sledgehammer.
@@alexneidermeyer284 haha that's very true. I only drive 2000 and earlier honda's so it's basic tools for me 95% of the time. I can do a motor swap with the most basic of tools.
Doesn't the rounded head mean that this is a peening hammer to remove small dents and the like (genuine question, that is the only thing I have seen hammers like this been used for so far, but then I don't work on cars) ?
“Breaks?” I think you mean, BRAKES, son! 😂😂😂
Gonna be hard to live that one down! 🥲
0:38 when you have to win booze because you’re not old enough to buy it!
I love watching all of your guys videos, they are great. The costume made it the best yet. Cannot wait to see the video with it.
Sam: When the air gets cold, it gets thin.
Actually, that's not the case! 😊
When air cools, the molecules move closer together due to a process called thermal contraction, making the air denser and heavier. Cold air is denser than warm air, so it actually gets thicker, not thinner, as it cools.
The channel that Sams built.
Great job Sam that costume is killer. I can't wait for that in a video.
Love these videos, you guys should do more competitions against Sam. Maybe a competition on building something (e.g. a cofffee table) within a certain budget
John, you look soooooo cute in that costume!😊 Great video guys!
🤣 John Malecki Screwed! Sam's got you again! Go Sam 🎉! Hi Sam the judge, good to see you again 😁 Thanks for being a good sport John.
Quick tip on Walmart impact sockets...hit the spot with air compressors. They have a couple options that are super budget friendly, but they keep them right next to the air tools.
LETS GOOO OG Sam is back
Great to see Sam G back on the channel! Almost like the old times. John M should make an appearance on Sam Green Maker!
Brilliant, John that outfit was hilarious
Sam is killing it!! Sam's assessment was correct.......one set was for a dude changing oil and the other set was for someone elbows deep in the sh!t working on his ride to work in the morning. Very funny!!
Loved it, a LOT of the tools I carry are from Walmart, and even though they're cheap, they have served me well. The big question I have, though, is, how could either one of you NOT get some screwdrivers?!?! Walmart has cheap, 4" flat OR Phillips screwdrivers for about a BUCK!
26:32 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂, so glad im subscribed. Lmao
Coincidentally, last month I had to rebuild my car toolkit and I ended up doing it at Harbor Freight. For $199.60 I was able to get a battery jumper, tire pump, bottle jack, full socket set, flat repair kit, gloves, poncho and a bag to put it all in. I very stupidly forgot to get a tire iron though, so.
I went to my local pawn shop and sifted through their entire random box of sockets and bought every single 10mm socket i found. i have no idea where ANY of them are a few years later...
Great video! Of course the only wrench missing is the most important one lol. Need a video John and Sam both buy return pallets see who comes out on top.
A ravens or eagles jersey could have been a good outfit, but the inflatable cat definitely does the trick.
John in a pink tutu is going to be funny AF. Make sure it is a long format video. Thanks!
Accuracy of the costume is amazing!
Those tiny screwdrivers can be clutch for some electrical conditions with hard to reach little clips to push. Along with the panel puller for some of the wire harnesses have push plugs that can be hard to get out without breaking
Always happy to see the OG Sam
Sam absolutely deserved the win on this one, tbf. Well thought out mechanics kit and awesome costume choice 😂
How he didn't have a single ratchet lol
lil screw drivers like that are good for pulling the clips that hold in trans lines . also great on plug latches
1:40 dead ass was falling asleep and I heard that wager and it is instantly woke my ass up 😂
Loved this episode!
Love seeing Sam Green back on John’s channels
I am surprised both passed up the brake caliper press and spark plug gapper. Both essential for basic car matinance.
Heard I had to subscribe to see you in a video … in that costume ! DONE 🤣 best pitch ever
13:02 someone needed to put a new label sleeve on the shelf and reprint the labels but didn't do it.... 😂
Yet another total win!!!!!
I love double Sam videos
I am dying left in that costume.I love it it's funny
Great job again guys, God bless Sam can't wait to see John in that costume ❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
alright, i know this vid is 3 weeks old, buuut ive had a few videos come into my algorithm now and im loving it, deff earned my sub :)
With every science experience there's always a control a base to compare. Can we please get a video of what the ultimate tool kit is! Make the budget using any store or little bit from every store. This will help people find a place to start and maybe save a bit of money.
Ex-CAP2 Supervisor here, Sam. CAP2 represent!
I love me a good ole episode with more Sam in it.
Being a tech myself my guilty pleasure like a lot of us is pocket tools like screwdrivers and picks
I was laughing so hard at that costume! 😂😂😂
Sam is the king of $100 tool kits.🧐🤣👍
A lot of basic car knowledge has changed now, what used to be basic like engine oil change is now once a year activity which get merged with larger repairs and maintenance
so a normal DIY are reduced to repairing popped plastic attachment using pludger, changing tyre in case of puncture, even headlamps are difficult to access now as they don't blow that often. same with spark plugs which old skool folks loved to observe and check the gap.
Walmart 1884, Dickson City PA. Cap2 is a truck Unloader and sometimes stocking shelves.
Fantastic, cant wait for the show with you wearing the suit John :)
